I am counting down the days until my policy with Insure The Box expires. I can it wait to join a more helpful and more professional insurance company. I highly regret giving this company my money, would have much rather paid extra and gone with a better insurance company. 1 star is all too much. I had an accident and tried to get hold of Insure the box but I was on hold so long my phone battery died! After a good few attempts and a lot more patience I finally got to speak to a human being, not that I could understand what they were saying. My car was also vandalised and yet again could not get hold of Insure the box for love nor money! I even emailed customer service and didn't even get a reply! The problem still hasn't been resolved but I simply cannot listen to that **** music on hold for hours, will pay out of my own pocket. Very dissatisfied.

I think this website needs to create a function that will allow me to put a minus rating. If this would ever come into place, 'Insure the Box' would receive -10 Stars 100 times over. In theory by selecting this insurance company i have saved myself money as they were an obvious option when it came to getting quotes. However, in reality i have spent more of my time, frustration and stress talking to Insure the Box, about a multitude of different issues, than it was ever worth. (All issues caused by their staff+systems) In all circumstances i would highly recommend paying the extra money (Be that any figure) and use another company!!!

I have never in 35 years had the worse treatment over a period of 12 months as these cowboys, bunch of amateurs, the promise to call you they don't, they don't pick up their phones, waited so many times for more than 20-30 minutes each time. Now they have online chat which no one responds to. AVOID USING THEM.

I bought 10000 miles and paid in full. The box was fitted without any problems. 7 months into the policy I received an email saying I was nearly exceeding my 6000 mile policy limit. I am too stressed to go into detail but needless to say there have been many emails and phone calls regarding this. I was assured the problem had been sorted. I then received notice that they were cancelling my policy on 20th December as I had failed to purchase more miles. Again more very long and tedious phone conversations. I was contacted by one of the team to assure me the mistake was all theirs and that the policy would not be cancelled. I called on 21st December just to check the policy was still live and was told it was completely sorted. Today, 30th December I have received another email saying I need to purchase more miles as I have exceeded my 6000 mile policy. I have just given up after spending 45 minutes on hold. I am so angry. The incompetence of this company is unbelievable! I would not recommend them to my worst enemy.

I WOULD NEVER ADVISE ANYONE TO GO WITH THIS COMPANY!!! I've been with them for two years now. 1 year with go skippy before them (come back annoying go skippy hold tune, all is forgiven) they do not require a box so I never had any battery problems then. My battery was relatively new when I purchased the car, just before getting a quote from go skippy. I had the box for approximately a month and the battery died. I took the car to halfords who said there's nothing wrong with the battery. Since having the box my battery has died 4 times. Last time was 24/12/16. I called to report it they said I must get a mechanic to say the box is the problem. I keep trying to explain that even if I wanted to buy a new battery I couldn't have it installed as it would mean invalidating my insurance If I took the box off so either way they would be forced to come out regardless. But they refuse to come. So in essence they are holding my car to ransom. forcing me to pay more out of pocket expenses then I already have due to this problem. Either way they still have to come get the box off my car but they refuse. I dont know what to do. It's very frustrating.

Wouldn't touch with a barge pole. Took out insurance online. Then received an email and letter saying they needed my V5 document and Proof of No Claims which I sent by 1st class post. Received an email at 12:12 to tell me my insurance was cancelled at 00:01. Telephoned and was told they did not have my documentation and policy cancelled. To reinstate I needed to start a new policy and pay first payment again despite a pro ratad refund of £144 due. Asked to speak to manager who said under no circumstances could insurance be reinstated without renewing the policy and paying deposit again. Taking this to the Ombudsman. Daughter was out in car when I received the email. PLEASE stay away from them!

So what happened was i insured my car with insurethebox since it was a cheapest option and had to pay a monthly fee of 138£ which was quite good for a young driver. Stated that the miles driven will not exceed 6000, after a half year it was getting close to the figure so i though i will top it up as i was recieving text messages to do so as im running out. Went to the website looked at the prices and was completely shocked 44£ something for a 250miles? My petrol cost me less than that and since 6000miles were driven in a half year time according to my mileage i would need another 1000£ just to finish my policy with them ? It would be even cheaper just to swich to someone else, pay deposit and pay less since i am 1 year older now. Atleast that what i thought, according to the customer service team which i was spoke to (though was getting no problems connecting them, no waiting time neither live chat or landline) explained me i will have to pay 414£ cancelation fee which includes the miles that i have used? But im only insured for this much and have to pay for a whole years worth of policy? This was not stated, but since you agreed with TOS there is no choice ... I want to buy a house soon so i dont want my credit score to be affected otherwise i would ignore them and ignore the debt collectors they send over... The worst company ever, scams people with low initial price and do not warn you about the hidden fees.... DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM, pay a bit more and avoid insurethebox!

I've had to give this company one star because unfortunately it won't let me give them none! I purchased my car insurance and had nothing but problems for three months with having the box fitted and they're untimely fashion of updating all your information onto their computers. I own a high performance car which they are saying is modified because I am brandishing a sticker of a tuning company that I use to get my compression tests done annually, also the car has some Mazda stickers on it that brandish the model of the vehicle. In their defence my car does have tinted windows which I understand could be classed as a moderate modification. But since when did having stickers on your car warrant your policy being cancelled. Customer service is absolutely awful and no resolution or negotiation was able to take place. If I was you I would seriously reconsider using these cowboys

Would never recommend anyone to go with I sure the box. Worst company you could ever go with. The reason the insurance is so cheap is because the rip you off on miles you do. When I first started with them I lived 17 miles away from work so did a few miles a week. Then I moved a few months later and was only 2 miles from work, they were still claiming I was doing my old amount of miles, and making me pay extra monthly to top up. Then today they said if I don't pay for my £2325 miles by Saturday I will have my insurance cancelled. Let alone it's my last monthly payment just gone out with them, so they are now trying to take me for a ride with the last month I don't pay. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. The customer service is also appealing, telling me I could pay for the miles to catch up monthly then deciding not to when been approved by email. Never recommend and would never renew my policy. Also when I tried to cancel my policy half way through they tried charging me £600 for miles I'd already done a paid for because it was more then the monthly payments left altogether.

Derek Brown claims manager and Ali in claims. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. Miss-informed. Pushed aside. Lack of communication. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY !

My partner is insured with insure the box and has had so many issues with them, starting with getting the box fitted in the car, they kept cancelling or not showing up and then threatened to cancel his insurance if it wasn't fitted. He was then involved in an accident and when trying to sort out the claim was told numerous different things by different people in the claims department all untrue. When I challenged this and asked if they would be honouring what people had told us they said no flat out and said they would listen to the calls. They then called me back to tell me what I'd "accused" their staff of saying was untrue and when I asked to hear the recordings then they said it was 'against their policy'. Useless customer service team, they put you on hold for ages and are simply rude.

My son cancelled his policy in July 2016 and is still waiting to have telematics box removed this is now the end of October 2016.... They refunded the money that was due to him after cancelling policy but deducted £85 to have the box removed which is yet to be done.... Dishonest ??? You can never get through to speak to anyone on the phone very frustrating .... Would never recommend this company

previous positive experience with the insurance and customer service. now very disappointed with the customer service regarding my insurance renewal. been with insure the box for 6 years, now my renewal quote came due for 11k! owning vauxhall corsa, not a maserati! i rejected it, paperwork still followed thanking me for insuring w them! another quotation done still very high, when i said i am not happy with it, no better quotation offered to keep me with them as for being loyal customer and a good driver, just thank you for your call and good bye. obviously they have enough new customers no need to keep the old ones. time to move on

Insure the box is appalling. When waiting for the box to be installed they set you a date, baring in mind this is my second car to have the box installed because I changed my car half way through the first policy. They give you a four hour time gap which they may or may not come in (e.g. Between 12 - 4). The first time they did not come until 5 o'clock. Despite ringing them 3 or 4 times to be put on hold for 20 minutes. The second time they gave me a time between 10 and 2o'clock. They should not be allowed to do this. If you are a busy person like me and a lot of people they should give one time slot not a 4 hour one. Very annoyed and disappointed.

Do not insure your car with Insure the Box. The reason why they make their quotes so much cheaper is because you aren't paying for the customer service. It is appalling. Emailed and within an hour got an automatic reply saying somebody will get back to me within 48 hours, of course 48 hours passed, ended up waiting a week to get an email back and still nothing, so called up, their recorded start is ridiculously slow you wait 3 minutes just to listen to that, then get put on hold for half an hour to be told the department can't help so wait another half hour being transferred to the correct department (even after pressing the correct selection for the department you need). Finally got through to somebody and they sounded like they didn't even want to be on the phone to me, not surprising really when you work for such a terrible company, I certainly wouldn't want to be working there! I also spent a good 20 mins waiting on live chat to get through to somebody and every 2 minutes getting the same 'Current waiting time is 13 minutes, thank you for your patience' you start to lose patience after a while, it got very repetitive and boring and I can safely say I will not be using this company again nor will I be recommending them to anybody! Oh, and you can also tell their administration is rubbish when you get 4 copies of the same renewal letter & quote even after you've cancelled your renewal! Bloody cheek of a company that will also try to rip you off the second year when they give you a renewal quote based on 'your previous years driving records' which is false information too because they judge you on the time of day to travel! I work, I can't not travel at rush hour, it is impossible unless they want to pay for me to lose hours at work etc just to make their stupid box happy. Absolute waste of a company and wasting a lot of people's time. DO NOT USE!! So many bad reviews!!

Insure the box are useless they are good for nothing. Recently ive been involved in 2 non fault accidents such as an uninsured driver crashing into the back of me and my ex partner attacking me and my courtesy car. They haven't been no help to any of these situations and I will never insure my vehicle with this company again !!

Worst customer service! They cancelled my insurance because they took 2 months to contact me to fit a box on my vehicle, and then told me I will receive a £7 refund after they take their charges and administration charges (bear in mind my monthly insurance payment went out yesterday)! Will advise all my friends and family not to go anywhere near this disgusting excuse for an insurance company! Awful, awful experience!!!

Absolutely APPALLING customer service. They make you wait for AGES to get through to anyone and then as soon as you get through to someone, they say that they can not help and have to put you through to another team and make you listen to the same song for AN HOUR. Their chat line does not work and no one replies to emails.
