DONT BOTHER!!! WORST COMPANY FOR HOME & life insurance. Cancelled my life insurance as said I had not made payments and said they had sent me letters to let me know the premiums had not been paid! I did not receive one letter about this but they just cancelled my policy leaving me & husband with no life insurance!! It took over a year to sort it out -again many mess ups on their part which they compensated me for 3 times due to their incompetence and admitted fault. When it was all sorted 3 months later I then get the letter that out the blue they have cancelled it!!!!! Please please don't waste your time, money or life on these scum bags for any kind of insurance. Home insurance and life insurance have both been over a year of stress, money and time wasted AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

Having been with Legal and General for the past two years I was happy with the cover and price. However, when I tried to renew my policy this year I was unable to speak to anyone despite trying for three days. The automated payment process didn't recognise my "Unique Payment Reference" and it didn't work online either. Therefore I have found a new insurer.

Tried to renew home insurance, was in a telephone queue for 45 minutes in the end I decided to shop elsewhere, there online payment system is an absolute joke !!!

We have our puppy with legal and general and the only fault was that it took a little while for the claim to be paid out. The process of claiming was simple and despite only being with them for a few months they had no issues in paying out the (almost) £4,000 for my pups surgery. I just hope I will continue to be a happy customer when it comes to our renewal.

""L&G have been very good at taking my instalments for home insurance for the last 12 years. I am now trying to make the first claim ever and they have passed my file onto another company (claims consortium) to process and I have not heard from them since sending the details they requested on 28th August (Its 10th September).... Very, very poor. I shall not be renewing with L&G.

Hi. Just received an email from yourself stating you are not going to honour our pet insurance claim which I find outrageous. We've taken on two policies with you on the highest plan to ensure we have the best interests of our dogs at hand. Visited our local practice with one of our dogs poorly to be told it was as a result of teeth issues resulting in 13 teeth being removed which had affected her health and appetite. Completed the form to be told that you only Cover dental fees as a result of an accident. I will be raising a complaint with your dept tomorrow and taking this to the financial ombudsman for being mis sold insurance.

""Absolutely shocking customer service - We took out a policy with L&G and as an incentive where given a free Amazon voucher - this has never appeared. L&G like to blame another company who deal with their vouchers, yet they blame L&G. You cannot win - and still no voucher - I will never use them again!

Every time you call, you are first on hold for an average of 10-20 minutes. Then I got told several times during various calls that they were having systems issues so I had to call back. Finally I added an expensive item to my policy and I have still (after a month) not been told that the documentation I sent the same working day was sufficient, and that they had removed the endorsement. It is shocking service, definitely understaffed call centres. The person who I called for my home insurance told me she was't trained to deal with my type of policy and was needing to request a call back for me. Why was she even on the phone then? Definitely avoid.

Many years ago lied to sell us a product we did not need but were so convincing with their lies we have been wasting money may as well have stood in the street waving fivers into the wind once a month. Cannot believe they have not been closed down by now.

Trying to make a claim and they just dont want to know. Get automated messages saying they will respond within 3 days, rubbish........ Will never use this company for anything again.

Made a claim in June of this year they fobbed me off till now and now say they won't pay for my claim. I will be taking legal action and contacting the financial ombudsman. Do not touch the whole place needs blowing up or a kick up the ass..

I had a pet insurer with this company Worst company ever They trick people and just want to rip off us. Anafilatic shock not cover?!!! They shoud be ashamed of taking money from people. The customer service don't know nothing and are unable to anwser questions

Assured would be contacted within 2 working days regarding claim. No contact now after 3 working days. 45 mins of waiting hearing "thank you for holding, we ARE on our way to help" - hmmm, I don't believe you! This is my first ever claim so I knew no different. To make matters worse, I've just renewed with them too. Dammit, wish I'd experienced this shoddy service before renewing. Awful.

My roof developed a leak which ran in to electrics and they said had to be at least 25ml of rain within an hour for them to cover it so basically unless it's a tsunami on your bike is what I was told absolute disgraceful company never again will I insure anything with these rogue traders

I have been trying for 2 weeks to contact legal and general with follow up information for a claim. I have been unable to get through and have been left waiting for hours with a repeated message that 'someone will be with you shortly'. This is NOT the case. It is impossible to speak get through and speak to anyone and my phone bill just keeps running up. This is not customer service. Having an inadequate customer service that prevents and blocks customers from discussing their policy is not only extremely poor and unprofessional but is extremely stressful and distressing. I notice others are having similar experiences and nothing has been rectified. I have even tried to get through by selecting another option on the phone but again, no one answers and I just watch the minutes and hours tick by. Shoddy service.

I am currently on the phone trying to ring L&G back as after making my initial claim they promised a return call within 48 hours. No sign. Now currently on hold.. 36 minutes and counting
