Worst company I have ever had the misfortune to be insured with. My dog got an ear infection, which then snowballed into a major operation. I paid £345 in November 2016 to the vet for a polyp to be removed. After a biopsy the inner ear needed to be removed and operation took place in December. After chasing loads of times, they paid the Newmarket company for Decembers op direct, but my £300 odd is still outstanding with loads of excuses ie no history sent, no invoice, no completed documentation....Even though both claims sent in same envelope, my VET has sent all info 3 times to Bizzy @ legal & general, and I have sent the complete forms twice. Crap company don't use them really poor poor pay up when they have to and Ive never missed or been late on 1 payment.

Really unhelpful, had water leak in the ceiling and I didn't get any assistance at all. Definitely a company to avoid!

I don't usually like to complain however my experience of Legal and General has been shocking. I took a home insurance product with them that I needed to cancel shortly after due to our property purchance falling through. In total it took 13 attempts via lengthy telephone calls and countless e mails to get my refund. It was laughable and I was given every excuse from, it will take 4-5 days to appear in your account, they couldn't even find my payment at one point resulting in me having to provide a bank statement and I was even told it was stuck with there accounts team!! I have lost total confidence with Legal and General and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Appalling levels of service.

Customer service department give wrong advice and then don't pay claim. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

NO forms sent so we could get some money out been sitting on them now ot going to take another 4 weeks the bills will not wait incompetence in my mind. Of they had a - 100 comes into my mind

Telephoned today to find out when I am going to get my pension pot. Claim put in over 3 months ago. I was told they are sending out another letter to find out how I want to claim it. This as already been sorted on previous paperwork. If you have a pension with Legal & General move it elsewhere. I can not see me getting mine in my lifetime due to their stalling tactics.

Had home insurance for over 10 yrs with this company, had a leak through the ceiling & called emergency plumber. Fixed the leak, now they say we are not covered. Trace & access cover is not on our policy. Policy now cancelled thanks for nothing.

I Have had building and contents insurance with L&G for many years. I have never made a claim from either my home or buildings policy. Each year they hike the price and when I ring the reduce the quote by a nominal amount. Last year, 2016, I paid £250.00 pounds, this year it jumped to £321. for the same Cover. Having done a comparison for the same cover online I found Admiral offered the same cover for £86.00, there were many other providers coming close to this... Yes amazing. I contacted L&G customer services and they offered to reduce my premium to £275.00! Very kind of you, NOT! Needless to say I have a new provider.

Requested my pension pot three months ago. I was told it would take six to eight weeks. Still waiting for it. Ever time I ring up they say that they can not find the paperwork which has been sent and emailed to them. I would not trust this company to even replace a toilet roll.

Don't ever get a pension with this company. They will find any excuse not to pay out. In there words " we could pay out but choose not to" said by Donna Sulivan and Jane Somerset today 3rd may 2017.

I have a pension and that will not pay out. There words are Quote " we could pay but as a company choose not to" by Donna Sulivan. They then advise me to for equity release. By Jane Somerset.

I would never recommend legal and general to anyone. I have just received my first mortgage and have taken out life insurance with them. I asked for my trustee form which I was told 'would be emailed to me' when it wasn't, I phoned again and was told 'it would be posted to me', when it wasn't, I phoned again and was told 'I can't help you as I am covering the phones but will get someone to call you back'; the call never came. I made a formal complaint, was told the documents would be sent first class, recorded delivery.. they didn't turn up, I chased up and was ignored. I have cancelled this service and would never use them again.

I am saddened to say this is an atrocious company to ever consider a pension with. They keep you hanging on the phone for 20 mins a time yet what I wanted to do was transfer my pension. They promised to send me the documentation and failed to do so. I had one year to transfer my money with my other employer and it failed to do so because of the lapse of service from Legal and General. I wonder if it was a malicious way of keeping a customer. I have now left them, but my advice is not to consider such a company unless you genuinely feel you can trust their conduct when you reach your pension age.

L&G Pet insurance - terrible service claim declined as classed as a pre-existing condition which it was not, couldn't even be bothered to tell me my claim was declined, I had to chase them, then they wanted to charge me £30 to cancel my policy - waste of time!!!

Dreadful customer service. Website wont let me register so e-mailed them. Was contacted by phone and told documents would be posted. Two weeks later, still no documents. E-mailed them again and no response to e-mail, not even automated reply.Worst customer service from anyone in my experience.

I tried to cash in my pension to purchase a small business which would have given me a much better return even when the tax implications are considered. In a nutshell they used a variety of excuses not to pay out ranging from incomplete paperwork to "our IT systems are down" Over two months later I am still waiting and I have lost the purchase. You wouldn't be surprised to know that they aren't bothered. Why would anyone be bothered about a number? With Legal & General that's all you are and will ever be.

No contact with the customer despite I reported the claim. Every time I wanted to know something about my application, I had to call and explain everything again. 24h emergency engineer respond don't exist I have been told that they don't have any engineer free. Personally, I will never use it again or recommend to anyone of my friends.

20 years ive been with this company, and never made a claim. untill last week when my lounge ceiling came down due to a water leak in the bathroom up stairs. They will look or any excuse not to pay up, and refused my claim because it wasent wet enough, It was 10 days untill they sent a man around to look and it had dryed out a lot by then. Ovoid this company there is no point having insurance if they wont pay out

We have Home Insurance Extra policy with Legal and General. We had a problems with our boiler with no heating or hot water. We phoned to make a claim and was told an engineer would not be able to come out until a day later leaving us without heating or hot water which does not help when you have a 3 and 7 year old children. The engineer came out and said we had 'sludge' in our boiler plate and would contact the insurance company about changing this but would have to wait until after the weekend. We then got a phone call from Legal and General after midday 2 days later to say they do not cover the problem leaving us to find a plumber to get this fixed and still without heating or hot water. The guy on the phone said who he was and from Legal and General and explained that we were not covered and put the phone down. Appalling service and we will be cancelling our policy with them.

I dropped my iphone 7 in the sink on fri 10th March 2017 and it stopped working the next day. I called Legal and general on the sunday and was told i would get a call back within 24hours. I hadnt heard anything on Monday so i called them back on the tuesday to be told how sorry they were that i hadnt had a call back. I went through what happened again and my claim was put through to the rapid claims department. I was called the following day to be told my claim was all processed and i would receive a cheque (minus the excess) through the post in the next 5-7 days and they would collect my broken phone whenever suited me by courier. I got it picked up from my work place and received my cheque on the Monday. All very professional and very easy to deal and chat to. Maybe my claim was very simple but i was expecting to be faced with a lot of challenges given these reviews but i didnt at all.
