The worst pet insurance ever!!!!!!!!! Awful claims experience, awful, awful customer service!! Don't recommend at all!

Assured would be contacted within 2 working days regarding claim. No contact now after 3 working days. 45 mins of waiting hearing "thank you for holding, we ARE on our way to help" - hmmm, I don't believe you! This is my first ever claim so I knew no different. To make matters worse, I've just renewed with them too. Dammit, wish I'd experienced this shoddy service before renewing. Awful.

My roof developed a leak which ran in to electrics and they said had to be at least 25ml of rain within an hour for them to cover it so basically unless it's a tsunami on your bike is what I was told absolute disgraceful company never again will I insure anything with these rogue traders

I have been trying for 2 weeks to contact legal and general with follow up information for a claim. I have been unable to get through and have been left waiting for hours with a repeated message that 'someone will be with you shortly'. This is NOT the case. It is impossible to speak get through and speak to anyone and my phone bill just keeps running up. This is not customer service. Having an inadequate customer service that prevents and blocks customers from discussing their policy is not only extremely poor and unprofessional but is extremely stressful and distressing. I notice others are having similar experiences and nothing has been rectified. I have even tried to get through by selecting another option on the phone but again, no one answers and I just watch the minutes and hours tick by. Shoddy service.

I am currently on the phone trying to ring L&G back as after making my initial claim they promised a return call within 48 hours. No sign. Now currently on hold.. 36 minutes and counting

Awful claims experience, no way to email claims in. Always waiting on hold for ages to try and talk to someone. Awful, awful customer service.

I cancelled a policy in June 2014 and again in august 2015, but they kept taking premiums. I had a number of policies with then and did not notice money coming out, they agreed that it was their mistake and would pay the premiums back along with £50 however £50 arrived but nothing else. I have now had to take a morning off work to try and sort out . Phone 4 times so far, now been holding for over 10 mins

L&G reneged on my insurance cover resulting in my having to close my factory and sack my loyal workforce. I regularly paid the premiums but they never gave me my policy. They say I was the victim of a scam but all payments went through their bank and I have bank statements to prove it. I have been fighting for justice for years but I am just a minnow against them. I allege they are dishonest and couldn`t care less about a small man like me.

You can speak to a member of sales extremely quickly but when you need to speak to someone about your claim you are waiting for more than an hour! No one has time to keep waiting like this! Unacceptable

Disgusting customer service and cash settlement figure in relation to a recent home contents insurance claim. Amount paid out didn't even cover my damaged carpets following escape of water that didn't even originate in my property! Left for 20-30 mins before calls answered too. Complaint letter sent but a dissatisfied response. I will never use legal & general again for any insurance.

L and G are a greedy concern with little focus on customer retention e.g. my house building and contents went up by approximately 18 percent, competitors were cheaper. L and G tried to blame the increase on our post code (we`d had no claims/change in circumstances). What a pity.

I have several products with L&G amongst which is pet insurance, which is more costly than my house insurance. Unfortunately having to make a claim for my dog who is dying of cancer the whole process has been outstandingly poor. L&G have an intermediary Ultimate Pet Partners who have been uncommunicative, difficult and have put up several barriers to paying out a small sum. Could never recommend L&G Pet insurance to anyone, over the years I've had four providers L&G have been the worse by a mile

Storm damaged my roof, so I tried to make a claim from them. They told me they did not insure asphalt flat roofs but when I took out the insurance I was advised they did. I wrote to Nigel Wilson the CEO, who basically could not care less & passed me on to a Chris Newman who certainly could not care less.In have since cancelled the balance of the insurance with them, they even tried to charge me £24.99 cancellation fee, until I threatened to take them to court. Buildings insurance with these people is in my opinion just legalised fraud. They are a very dubious company in my opinion.

Renewed my car insurance policy so first payment came out on 5th June so I had money ready in my account for next payment to come out on 5th July and they tried to take out on 3rd of month saying this is how it was set up and have now charged me a late payment fee of £25.00!!!!! I have never ever missed a payment before and this was just a miscommunication. I think the fee is absolutely extortionate and out of principle I would NEVER use Legal and General again.

Had small crack in silicone seal around my shower .over a period of time it brought down the ceiling in the garage and straight into the boiler after waiting 32 minutes to get through to be told they had no one to handle my claim ant they would ring back the next morning which they duly did.i was then told that it was my responsibility to check and would decline my claim.to top it all off the claim advisor then asked if he could do anything else to help what a whopper. Advise to anyone wanting home insurance to look elsewhere . Worst supplier I have ever used

I took out home insurance with them and could not get them to send me the policy documents either by post or email despite sending them several emails and ringing several times and waiting for at least 20 minutes to speak to someone. Luckily I could cancel my policy so hopefully I will get a refund- if that happens!

This so called excellant pet insurance company with held my claim for my dog saying it was a pre exsiting condition when it wasn't. My vet even wrote a letter to them explaining it was not and they still declined it!

Bought the Critical Illness and Life Insurance policy in good faith many years prior to being diagnosed with a degenerative disease. To cut a rather lengthy and unfortunate story short Legal & General decided to question my illness regardless of its severity and my not being able to work AND DUG into my private life and inheritance after my mothers death (from cancer); to state that because I inherented a business from my family that I do not qualify for the policy claim. All these underhanded actions to avoid a rather large payout. Disgusting!!!! I am currently and with costs going through the Ombudsman. Please do NOT take out any of their policies. Legal & General's practice to avert payouts are totally unethical and will worsen any diagnosed ailment! - as that is inevitablely their aim.

Shame I can only go as low as 1 star. My wife pushed a window too hard trying to open it. A hinge broke and the whole assembly fell onto a lower roof ,breaking tiles, before bouncing down onto our car bonnet causing severe denting. The assessor BVS before even looking closely stated that the problem was due to faulty parts therefore was "not an accident". therefore they wouldn't pay for the car (circa £500 to fix) or the window another £450. but were willing to pay for two tiles at £67 but I would have to pay £200 excess plus loose my many years no claims bonus. ACCIDENT (1) In common usage: an unforeseen and unplanned event or circumstances; or an unfortunate event resulting especially from carelessness or ignorance (Webster's Dictionary). They use to hang people for highway robbery? DO NOT use this company.
