Almost impossible to speak to anyone on the phone. Charged me almost half my yearly premium after 2 days didn't even take the bike on the road after it broke down at dealership on a saterday. Tryed to speak to an advisor all weekend with no answer.

Every year they try to over charge you the customer services staff are useless better to get quote on web site other than that not a bad company just hard work to get the right price out of them

It is ridiculous that each year I am treated as a brand new customer. The process has to be started from scratch with a new quote. As a customer this is really irritating and the answer of staff is just... That the way we do it. That's just not good enough. If there isn't a reason for doing it, then stop and be more customer focused.

I took out a policy and tried to cancel you did not answer my call and had not sent me a policy when I tried to cancel yet you rang me and because I could not prove I hadn't bought the bike you charged £66 what happened to a cooling off period . Not using MCE ever again. Crooks

I wish I could leave less than 1 star. Tried calling MCE to chat about my renewal, waited 45 minutes on hold. decided to do live chat, was told I needed to talk to them about my policy & they would call back within the day (that never happened) done live chat the next day & was told I would get a call back within 72 hours (that never happened) tried calling them again 1 hour on hold and never got through. live chat again today, Aisa answered “said how can I help” I wrote it all down and nothing, she did not reply at all.

Bought on line ok. Have now tried 5 times to get through to a sales advisor to sort out a couple of queries. Each time waited 15 minutes before giving up . Tried e mail and still no reply 2 days later. Cheap comprehensive cover but shocking customer service. Don’t buy unless you are certain of all the questions online. Live chat not too bad but can’t answer questions.

Yesterday was easily the worst experience I've had with an insurance company in 12 years of having insurance. It was time to renew my policy and having looked around MCE were the cheapest. Deciding to go ahead with them again I went to the email they sent me about my renewal and followed the link. Annoyingly, even though I'm an existing customer I had to re-enter all my details to get a renewal quote (FYI my date of birth hasn't changed, you can use the one on my existing policy). Got through to the payment section where my payment was declined. Thought it was an issue with my account for some reason so tried another one and it was declined again. There was a phone number to call to make the payment over the phone so I rang it. Two hours of being on hold later the line goes dead. Turns out my phone provider has an alert to warn me when I'm exceeding a monthly cap. Just found out that the number I was calling to give MCE my money was charging me 30p a minute for two hours! Went onto their site and found another number to call which wasn't charging me an obscene amount and waited another hour and a half to speak to someone. Had to go through the whole renewal process again providing all my details. Ended up at the same price as before and was told that despite my 3.5 hours of holding and £40 phone bill they'd already applied the maximum discount they could (ie the same price as my online quote). I've now just seen that one of my attempts to pay online did in fact go through, which means I've now paid twice. Just bracing myself emotionally before having to spend the next three hours on hold to get my refund sorted. I have insurance because it’s a legal requirement, not because I ever hope to use it. MCE were cheaper than the rest so I went with them again just to satisfy the legal obligation of having insurance at the lowest price. I've never thought about this before, but if something were to happen I'm really worried about having to deal with them.

5 weeks after my accident I'm still waiting to be paid out. The handler was rude and refused to discuss issues by telephone. They told me they were deducting 25% from my claim and accused me of taking out the wrong insurance which I didn't. They have repeatedly asked for the same documents and repeatedly told me that my claim is being forwarded to another department to advise on my settlement yet this has never happened.

Absolutely abysmal company. I had several bikes insured with them and then I had an unfortunate accident. My bike pre-accident was in A1 condition. I received a paltry offer, which was significantly below the market value (which is what MCE purport to indemnify you to the value of). I complained and Cerys Jones was extremely selective with the aspects of the claim that she wished to respond to. However, she categorically refused to respond to the key points of my claim, insisting that she had issued a 'fair and reasonable' offer, despite it being £3,000 less than the market value of my bike. I repeatedly asked what condition was input in order to provide their 'fair and reasonable' offer. After a further eight weeks, Cerys Jones disclosed that they assess the condition as 'good' which is far from the market value of my bike, thereby placing themselves in breach of their own contract. Not to worry though, because they keep it all nicely under one roof. They own the broker company, the insurance company and the claims company. THEIR broker charges you a hefty fee for 'placing' the policy with THEIR insurance company, then they oversee the claims. I requested the price for buying back my written off bike. MCE apply a deduction of 40% off the value of your settlement - double the percentage of other companies, so heads they win and tails you lose. I own several billboards on motorways and will be posting a massive warning to others as soon as the banners are printed. Please do call me if you wish to hear further details or if you would like to discuss a class action against this company. My telephone number is 07977 411644

After getting a quote from mce of 328.00 I called to set up the policy. I had 2 years no claims from a previous policy with mce that ended in jan 2017. I was told that the no claims couldn’t be used due to the fact They was over 3 years old (out of date by 3 months). So I asked why there is a 3 year limit as claims and convictions are counted for 5 years with mce so no claims should be the same. After being told by the adviser the quote was now 580.00 and if I am not happy with it go somewhere else. Tbh there quote with no no claims was still the cheapest but the way I see it is they stuffed me with taking my no claims I had off me. If they have a limit of 5 years for claims and convictions then the no claims should be allowed to be used for 5 years. Seems like this company want the cake and eat it. And it you don’t like it go somewhere else. Not a good way to do business. I am now trapped with mce due to having no no claims and cannot get insurance from anywhere else due to having none. Bit of a joke tbh had me over a barrel.
