Awful company. They cancelled my insurance even though my lender was happy to continue, basically I missed one monthly payment had no letter from them at all just a text message stating insurance due to be cancelled in 24hrs so I called them up and they had already cancelled it, rather then fighting them I said I would start a new claim but the lovely call handler decided to hang up. Avoid this company don't know where they get there employees but they are more suited to debt collection.

Tried ringing them to change my credit card details as they were going to auto renew, spent over 30 mins just waiting for someone to answer, cannot believe this day and age there is no other way to contact these people than on phone. Finally answered phone lady was good & cancelled policy (hopefully) without any real hassle

Just cancelled my policy. Was happy to pay the £50.00 cancelation fee, but then the guy starts quoting me more cancellation fees for buying the policy originally through a 'Comparison site' plus other fees for termination of non refundable charges such as breakdown cover, legal cover etc etc. And they have the balls to charge me for the phone call as well. Not impressed, they rip you off everway possible, it was almost not worth cancelling the policy and just let it run, eveen though I'd sold the bike. Will never use Motorcyle Direct again!

Total scam artists, appalling customer service, aggressive attitude, impossible to contact. Cancelled my policy due to some mystery non disclosure documents I "failed" to provide over a notification discussion I had with my previous insurer a year ago. Despite sending numerous NCB documents & in spite of my previous insurer Bennetts getting involved, no-one could fathom exactly what it was they wanted. They charged me 116 quid for the privelige of them cancelling & I'd only been with them 2 weeks. Went back to Bennetts & just renewed with them. Going to them was the biggest mistake I've ever made in over 30 years of bike ownership.

Worse insurance i ever had. Only hav insurance 4 months tried to change bikes, they refused. Wouldnt let me cancel initially until they took another months payment off me. Then wouldnt answer the phone when i had to ring back. Then demanded another 90 pound to cancel and just took it streight out of my account. Scam

Never answer the phone. Trying to cancel as no longer own a bike - impossible and with automatic renewals!

No issue with actual insurance as never had to claim. However on renewal impossible to contact them on phone and no email address available. Phone charges are 7p a minute. Could this be an income earner? Eventually sent them a letter.

Wouldn't even give them one star. Awful company that charge you hidden fees and then treated debt collectors if you don't pay it. Don't get insurance off this company!

Absolute rip off. Following automatic renewal of my motorbike policy, I have just been charged an additional premium of 40% for "non-disclosure" of my wife's car last year. Of course notification of the "oversight" came just after the 14 day cooling off period so when I cancelled on principle, MD kindly returned 30% of the premium despite 11 months of cover still remaining. The relevance to my securely garaged motorbike to the theft of a car from the street escapes me. Do not go near this company or Europa- as others have said before me, there are much better options out there.

Do not insure with Motorcycle Direct /Europe Group! I received a very aggressive note accusing me of non-disclosure three weeks into the automatic renewal of my motorbike policy. They charged me a whopping 40% additional premium for the non-disclosure of the theft of my beloved Land Rover from the street last year. On an automatic renewal this feels like entrapment. Of course the notification of this oversight arrived just after the 14 day cooling off period so when I asked to cancel my policy (I've been with them claim free for over 10 years), they generously returned 30% premium despite another 11 months remaining on the policy. As it is, I see very little relevance to the theft of a car off the street compared with a motorbike in a locked garage that has been claims free for a decade.

Do not insure with Motor Cycle Direct of Europa Group! Had my car stolen from the street last year. Automatic renewal of my motorbike (in locked garage) meant that I didn't disclose the theft the car. Immediately received a highly aggressive notice to call Motor Cycle Direct immediately. When I did, they advised that they would be charging an additional 40% premium for the oversight. This is borderline entrapment imo.

Do not use. Don’t get drawn in by the initial cheap quote. They will get you on admin charges and cancellation charges. They operate an exploitative auto renewal policy that will see your insurance rise by 20 percent and automatically add things on that you may not want, arrangement fees, transaction fees. In essence, They will milk you. The auto renewal notification went into my spam folder and I was unaware it was auto renew. The cost of cancelling this unwanted policy is more than half of the policy value. It’s legal exploitation and the auto renew function is solely designed to exploit.

Cancelled my policy due to selling my bike and was informed that the pleasure to do so was going to cost me £100.24. Absolute rip off, never going to use this company again and i would urge anyone and everyone to avoid Motorcycle Direct like the plague!

Took my policy out in December last year. Unfortunately I was involved in a serious motorcycle accident in march and MD and their partner with LV ripped my off. Had to pay £200 excess for just making the claim which I wasn't told. Took 4 months to get all excess eventhough I wasn't at fault which they new from day 1. Plus they said I could get refund but didn't because I used most of my policy. I only had policy for 3 months and they just cancelled it 3 months after accident. Exactly 6 months to the day when they canceled my policy. Made a complaint but handler was useless and try say I haven't got the case. MD are bunch of thieves. Had to fight even get my prove of no claims from them.

I have been with MD for years, but when they tried to charge me £120 to change my bike on the policy I went with Bennetts. Then to add insult, they are charging me £130 to cancel the policy! They say it was pointed out on the T&Cs, but seriously, Motorcycle Direct - you are everything that is wrong with this country! Disgusting!

Unfortunately the site would not let me select no stars, I was forced to choose 1 star and even that is generous. Stay well clear from this company. My father had his £1500 bike stolen and he made a claim, they only ended up giving him £350 pay-out. So if you value your bike then please insure with someone else. To make matters worse they wanted to charge £86 to cancel the policy for a bike he didn't have any longer. So he ended up with £264 back for something he has saved his hard earned money for. My father is nearly 70 years old and retired so you can imagine how he feels. Stay well clear before considering this company to insure your bike.
