Very unhappy! 16 years motoring, no convictions and I had to sign a credit agreement for my insurance, then I received a letter to say they wanted proof of address, copy of my driving licence front and back, plus a portal code to check my licence! So far I feel like a criminal and have to prove I can drive! What about the ones who been caught with no insurance! Bet they have not been asked for proof!! Absolute joke! I'm within my 14 day cooling of period but apparently I'm still going to be charged £75 cancellation fees!! I would not recommend. Pay a bit extra and go to the leading insurers.

By far the worst insurance company I have ever had the displeasure of being insured by. Poor customer service. Wrote my car off whilst my belongings were still in it. Asked them to keep the car at the underwriters to enable me to collect my belongings , which they guaranteed would be OK, only for it to be collected that morning . Passed from pillar to post as if each department was a different company and they were no help whatsoever. I lost a fortune after having someone crash into the back of my car and accepting total liability. Never would I recommend these crooks.

Worst company ever! Not even 24 hour service! Had to take out a 1 day policy on a new car because they were closed! Cancelled policy altogether and they slapped on a load of charges I was only with them for 11 days!!!

Shocking service. DO NOT GO WITH OCTAGON!! We have just been told itll be £75 to cancel my husbands car insurance. What an absolute rip off!!!!

Poor customer service ,they ask documents to Chang adders I send them gas ,elctric Bill and driving licence and ask £57 . However after five days I get the leter to cancel the policy which is surprising me .i ask poor customer service to explain how is cancel (they said after five days ) and I ask my question again (they said after five days) . If you don't want to surpris like me don't buy fram this company

Had my van over 2 weeks and still waiting for engineers report will not give a courtesy van until they have this costing myself to hire one as self employed definitely won't be using again and would advise to stay clear of this cowboy outfit

I would not recommend this company they took 3mths payments out then cancelled it due to me not sending the mandate bk but they could take money out via direct debt makes you laugh then charge me £130 cancellation fee

Contacted the company to ensure my no claims was valid and now having weeks of trouble and cancellation threats as they have rescinded their agreement. Long story short - Lease car policy and they will only accept no claims from the fleet solution - not the insurance company that the fleet use that have provided all details they request! I'm now over £100 out of pocket and may lose 16 years of no claims with this company! ONE TO AVOID!

ALREADY INSURED WITH THIS OUTFIT FOR LAST FIVE YEARS WITH NO CLAIMS BUT WOULD NOT INSURE ME UNTIL I COULD PROVE NO CLAIMS THEY HELD ALL THE PROOF FECKING FOOLS

I had policy for one year. No one informed me about renewal and changes on it. Also price went up. I cancelled and tried to buy new one online as it was cheaper then renewal, had error. So i cantacted with customer services which is unfriendly and horrible. Everything end up with no chance for me to continue with Octagon as a reason they sad they can't cover me because I am keeping the car in garage. Wtf? I sad I can keep it on the raod if you want so and they sad I already sad I keep in garage and there is nothing they can do. Horrible company. Was happy for a year. They only care about getting new customers, if you are about to be with them for longer they don't givr a sh*t for you!

BEWARE !!! octagon yes are cheap but that's the only positive I have to say about them . Firstly there customer service are terrible unhelpful and no empathy. They rip you off if you need to change your address with ridiculous charges and interest on top . They don't update details correctly for other services used through them . There breakdown service is also a shambles I was broken down with 2 young children and they did not have correct vehicle or address details because octagon have not updated they also tried getting a £100 call out charge to me even though I have cover so more rip off and miss selling from them . Please public do not use this horrible company I will be changing as soon as policy is up.

Got ripped off I have 9 years ncb but won't exept it cos I got it in late now I'm paying 3 times the amout won't be using them again and any asociated company's.

After reading some of the negative feedback I remained optimistic as every company dealing with thousands of customers can't get everything right all of the time, right! I decided to get a quote using their on-line system and entered my registration number to see my vehicle come up with a good price so all being well I purchased the policy immediately and paid for a full year with my debit card. All sorted or so I thought! I received an email thanking me for purchasing my policy and asking me to register so that I could review my documents, so far so good..........After 2 days of not being able to view my documents I emailed customer services to inform them and sure enough they resent the registration details and reposted my documents on line twice, still couldn't view them. No problem they have a live help facility so I'll use that instead, no-one there, ever! After 9 more emails I got to view the documents but they were showing a different vehicle and a registration number that was one digit away from my actual vehicle, very strange for an on-line system but nevertheless I gave them the benefit of the doubt and emailed customer services yet again. This morning I received a response saying due to data protection I needed to telephone them to sort it out. They responded by telling me I must have made a mistake or maybe a member of their team wrote it down wrong (that's automation for you!) but I would need to pay an additional £88 and the car I had been driving for a week wasn't actually insured. They keep no record of the quote which disappears from your screen as soon as you accept it and they can't give out the names of their team leaders. All communication has to go via email to their 'customer service' department but the same department doesn't receive telephone calls!! BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY, fraud springs to mind here!!!!

This company does everything it can to make your life awkward especially if the accident is not your fault. We have had to spend nearly £1000 on phone calls to them just for them to do their job. We informed them that there was cctv of the incident on the day of the accident but they didn't get hold of the footage until two days before it was due to be destroyed and only then after we had contacted the company ,which took us 4 mins and 29 secs, after they told us that they couldn't get hold of the relevant person. They are now withholding the repayment of our Excess citing that the other insurance company has to pay this back but they withheld it not the other insurance company. Everyone you speak to tells you a different story. They do not communicate with their own solicitors or you. All in all they are an appalling company to deal with and I will never recommend them to anyone. In fact I will actively discourage people from using their services IF I WAS YOU I WOULD STAY WELL AWAY!!! Don't no what company these other reviews are reviewing, but it isn't this one!! This company is absolute crap. After I had a non fault accident all they did was procrastinate and I had to do all the running about to sort the claim out. As a consequence I cancelled my insurance with them within the 14 day cooling off period. They have now sent me a letter asking for more money as they insured me for 9 days of the renewel. In this letter it stated that I cancelled my insurance and it was cancelled on the 22/09/2015 the policy started on the 13/09/2015 so by my maths that is less than 14days. They then said that they are taking the cancellation from the date of my last payment on the 09/09/2015 which still falls within the 14 day cooling off period. It's seems no one knows how to add up at this sham of a company. My car was written off by them so I don't what vehicle they think they were insuring but it wasn't mine. I think that the Financial Ombudsman needs to look in to them. By the way if they wish to dispute this I have all my bank records available. DO NOT USE!!!!

Poor customer service. Operators rude and unhelpful. Had a policy with them (44 yrs old male, no accidents, no claims, no convictions, full no claims etc.) for mini diesel and they refused to upgrade my insurance policy to include business use. Would have had to cancel insurance with them, pay cancellation fee and get significantly reduced refund on existing months left on policy before going elsewhere. Complained that they didn't inform me that they didn't offer the facility of business cover - they stated that they did, just not for me! I asked why, they wouldn't enlighten me. Avoid - even if they are cheap!

Continuing problems with this company. Last year they auto renewed policy despite having received cancellation. It was only when I approached the Financial Services Ombudsman that Octagon actually started to care. They added breakdown and key cover to my policy despite me declining them both. They appear on Money Supermarklet.com to be cheap but have high APR for pay monthly and if you miss a payment the fees are rediculous. The staff are rude and disinterested when you call customer services. Advise calling them off a recorded works phone as agents have told me direct debit date could, and would be changed, but then they didn't do it, and you're held to account. By far the single worst company I've ever had the displeasure of having insurance through. Thankfully I have never had to claim on their two-bit policy, I can only imagine they would be an absolute nightmare to deal with if ever you needed to claim.

I am disappointed that there is no zero stars option. The one time I actually needed support (a non fault accident) I have been treated like dog mess off the bottom of a shoe. I have been treated guilty and had to prove my own innocence. Instead I went direct to the third party and complained to octagon about my treatment. Which they have taken objection to and are trying to cancel my policy. DO NOT USE OCTOGAN !
