“I'm sorry to give such a bad review but for the money we paid I'm seriously disappointed. I chose to build the bed myself. As a mechanical engineer of 12 years and a design engineer for the previous 2 , I should be able to handle a bed? However I assumed the letters on the corners of the sides, head and foot board should match up but they didn't. After hand screwing the 60mm screws into all 4 corners of the solid oak I realised that it had been stickered up wrong as the hinge mechanism was closer towards the foot end of the bed and the strut was on the wrong end of the hinge. Therefore had to disassemble the bed and start from the beginning. Please may I suggest looking at a better way to attach the sides. Posi headed screws are not convenient, when the access is limited and you have to use a screw driver. Hexagonal headed screws would be better; you'd be able to use an Allen key and tighten the bolts up better. Metal threaded inserts would be even better rather than self tapping into solid oak To attach the hydraulic struts to the triangular brace, you use a nut and bolt. I can only guess this is so that you can replace the strut easier but due to access, you'd have to remove the brace from the bed anyway. The head of the bolt, although reduced, still gets in the way of the bed and hinge so both braces have to be fitted at an angle. As well as this, the slot in the bolt is very shallow and its awkward to tighten. Surely it would be better to weld a pin into the brace, with a bushing on either side of the strut to reduce the huge amount of play? My next suggestions are a bit picky but we paid over 1000 pounds for this so I expect better. There are some fairly large gaps in the external slats and joints where the wood is bowed and the holes are slightly off. The hole in the leather strap is not in the middle and I'm wondering if there is meant to be two holes in it? And there are no spots or markings on the bed for where the horizontal slats are meant to go, so laying the slats in an even fashion takes more time than it needs to. Lastly, the headboard and footboard where pre built which I am grateful for but you included all the bolts and biscuit joints for both parts as if I was to build it myself. As a company you'd probably save a lot of money if you only provided the bolts that are required?”

“The company helped me to chose a bed and mattress; both of which, I am very pleased with. I had not realised that the frame and mattress would be delivered by two different operators and was very confused when I got two messages the day before giving me two different delivery times. Warwickshire Council were the only downside, with their parking restrictions in our area -requiring a substantial sum of money required for parking whilst it was assembled.”

“Exactly as expected. Very solid. Went together with ease. It is a two man job and a powered screwdriver is definitely an advantage. The only reason I didn't give it the last star was because I would have liked one more base slat.”

“I'm rating this bed as a 4. We assembled the bed ourselves which was relatively simple if we'd thrown out the instructions to start with. Some of the parts are labelled by hand, so poorly written we couldn't read the letters that link to the instructions, so we just worked it out for ourselves. Good quality bed though, solid wood, very strong and comfortable so we are happy with it.”

“This is the second Get Laid bed we now have. Due to our attic conversion, we needed low bed frames and these are brilliant. The added shelf looks great and is really handy. Good sturdy quality and really easy to put together.”

“The process of order and delivery was very straight forward. Those delivering were great, pleasant and friendly. My only qualm was that I ordered the white glove service, however it was only upon delivery that I was told white glove was not available on this bed for part assembly, I wish this would have been clear when purchasing as I would not have selected this option.”

“I received a delivery for the wrong size of bed. Customer service over the phone suggested to take some photos to be sent by email. The response consistently denied that the bed was the wrong size. It took several email exchanges to establish that the person replying was using a size chart that it is nowhere to be found on the Get Laid Beds website. It also insisted that a charge of £25 was required for a return again nowhere to be found in the Terms & Conditions and that a refund would take up to 14 days to take place. I was constantly challenged as I was lying. They sent a Petite Double Bed instead of a Small Double Bed. I am still waiting to know what is going to be done.”

“Quality from start to finish, even the screws showed strength and quality, simple to assemble because of the precise craftmanship. this may only be a small bed frame but it as turned a box room into a childs bedroom. thanks it was a enjoyable experience from paying out to laying out”

“My bed was white glove delivered the chap was very nice, considerate with the bed bundles put them in the bedroom up against the wall and left. There was no damage and the bed went together very easily, I am delighted with it and it looks great.”
