Note-- this is my first negative review of a company.. BEWARE!! Just a warning to even those of you that think it's great now. like I had once upon a time: 1. The customer satisfaction pledge is false (which is the reason I felt confident about purchasing a trip from the site.. I purchased a trip from a very shady company who did not respond to my efforts to contact and was not as it was advertised. I contacted Groupon 2 days after the purchase for the trip 7 months away, confident that the satisfaction pledge would stand up. No. 2.The customer service is the worst I'd ever seen.. ever. You can only communicate through email, and you only get a canned response (from what I assume is an offshore vendor) is canned and ridiculously irrelevant to your inquiry. There is no phone number, no escalation path- well except for the attorney general, which is now my new path. 3.The Ebates link that advertises cash back.. does not give you cash back, even if it's on the trip you clicked on. The promise of getting cash back is also false. As verified by Ebates. I had used Groupon for years for local purchases, but will never again. This is the worst experience that I've had with any company of it's size. How can it still be operating?

We were given a Groupon voucher for afternoon tea at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens as a Christmas present, which had to be used towards the end of April. We tried to book at the end of March, but there were no dates available before the voucher expired and we were unable to get through to Groupon by phone. We rang the Botanical Gardens and eventually spoke to a man called Daniel who was helpful and said he would extend the voucher if needed and help us if we could not sort the voucher out with Groupon. On 3rd April I rang Groupon and finally getting through spoke to a lady who said they would give us the money back but only if she could contact the person who gave us the voucher as a Christmas present - this I felt was unacceptable as it was a present. I emailed the Botanical Gardens as they had offered to extend the voucher and I thought they might be concerned that Groupon was offering us the money back (they would lose income and bad customer experience). I have not heard from Botanical Gardens since my email to them on 3rd April. The customer service has not been good by either party and I would like this resolved asap thank you Jill Griffin.

Worst online buying experience ever!!! I am waiting for my order 1 month. The delivery company said that trying to contact me without success and came from my house. I had no call (the phone number was correct) and i was at home the whole day and nobody rings my bell. I contact them they said that i have to go and take my MATTRESS from the pickup point (10km away from my house). I said that is not an option because are offering delivery services and you never reached me as you said in order to schedule an appointment. The answer was ' Yes i know but we can't do anything if you want you can come and pick it, if not wait 7 days to returned back'. I contacted Groupon, i explained them the situation and they said that they can't do anything, i have to wait 10 days more to be returned and then cancel my order and take my money back..i am still waiting for that...

Such a shame that Groupon protects businesses more than customers. I purchased Cocktails voucher, now I am unwell and cant use it but they refuse to move the booking date, even if the restaurant itself is fine with moving it. It's upsetting how little they care about their clients. Now restaurant gets £36, groupon commission and the customer big fat zero, shame on you Groupon!

ABSOLUTE SHAMBLES, DO NOT USE....... Lost in transit! I ordered and paid for a rug from the site which had a 7 working day delivery time. On the 8th working day i called the so called 'customer service department' who could not help me. I asked to speak to a manager to be told that they would get a manager to contact me and i would hear back from them in 7-10 working days!!! It has been well over a month and still no call from a manager..what a surprise! I have had numerous online chats trying to sort out the issues and no-one could tell me what they were..... I received an email this week to say that my goods were lost in transit but its OK because I can have Groupon credits to the value of my order...... Are they expecting me to thank them for my credit refund?? This would mean that I would have to order from them again and quite frankly I would never use Groupon again, not while i still have a hole in my a***. They are coming across as crooks who take your money and do not provide the goods, their customer service is appalling and do not have a clue what they are doing or even how to apologize..... My reply to their email is below which may give you some idea of the frustration that this company will quite happily leave you with.........! Good afternoon, Lost in transit! This is really not good enough! I placed an order with you for which you did nothing but mess me around with, I have waited weeks and had absolutely NO help from your customer service department, despite me trying time after time….. I require a full refund back to my card on which I paid for the item and will NEVER EVER use Groupon or recommend you again. You have caused nothing but inconvenience and anxiety to me regarding this purchase and your poor excuse for customer service and apology are nothing short of embarrassing. You should be ashamed of the service you have provided to me. I am out of pocket, having to go to a shop to get a rug in time for an event at my house which has cost me money and time! Not to mention my time on the phone and online trying to sort YOUR problems. I will ensure that this sequence of events is posted on Twitter as well as review sites to advise anyone else thinking of purchasing from a company with such appalling CUSTOMER service. You have been absolutely no help and I am utterly Disgusted…. I would appreciate a response, however will not hold my breath given the service you have already provided! LET THIS BE A WARNING TO ANYONE WHO WANTS TO PURCHASE FROM GROUPON.......IN MY OPINION, DONT!

I ordered a rug from groupon on the 14th March. It clearly stated that they would need 7 working days to dispatch. I kept an eye on the tracker on my groupon account and after 2 days it said that it was being prepared for dispatch. 'Great' i thought...... 8 working days later it was still saying the same thing... I called their help desk and was told that they would log my question with a manager who would get back to me in 7-10 days....... it has now been 14 days (10 working days) and i still have not received my rug! I had a live chat with someone yesterday who just gave me generic answers and was absolutely no help, they even ended up finishing the chat without helping me at all. This company are fraudsters and should not be in business, customer service is shocking and the lack of common sense, let alone the understanding of our language is atrocious....currently in my eyes they look like thieves!

This company is not to be trusted. They have committed fraud by taking £30.00 from my account without my authorisation for a product I did not purchase. I tried to use a discount voucher they sent me. When this failed and declined the code as it was a live event I closed the window. I had a live chat and was explained the reason why I couldnt use the voucher. This made the event too expensive so chose not to bother. Next thing I get is an email saying they had taken the money and gave me a voucher. THIS IS FRAUD. And on the telephone you speak with someone in Asia that has absolutely no idea what your problem is as they dont have a fundamental understanding of the English language.

Gave us the wrong room on our 3 year anniversary, had to drive 6hrs to get to the hotel too- then spent half the night dealing with customer service only to be told no one could help for 24 hours

I got an IMAC from groupon that I barely ever used for over a year as it is never worked properly. I contacted the seller last year to fix it . I had to pay for it to be sent to be repaired. the seller sent it to the address of a retailer and I had to chase for weeks to get the item and when I got it it wasn't working. I had to send it again. the seller claimed that the screen was smashed and this is due to inadequate packaging. the item was packaged in the same way when it was sent before and I believe if it was smashed is due to mishandling by the collection company or the seller's staff. Now, it has been more than a year that I purchased this item that I barely used and ended up with a smashed screen. I come to realize that merchant is a scam company Whenever I contact groupon they send generic emails.

They added an extra charge on my order. I tried contacting them and wound up with an online chat ( got me nowhere ) I asked for a phone number to speak with someone and they would not give me one. After 2 months I went to my bank and foled a fraud charge. No customer respect at all

Shocking service! Item arrived broken and damaged and now 1 week later I am being asked to go out of my way to return them because they won't send a courier. The Manager will not speak to me and said I will get an email, I just want to send the item back and get a refund.

They advertised a "great deal" for concert tickets and after I purchased them. about a week later, I saw them on sale from the venue cheaper than what I paid. It is misleading to say the least that they say they are offering this "great deal" and it is not. I contacted customer service who repeatedly told me that there were no refunds. I think a multi-million dollar company could issue a rebate of the difference in order to satisfy a customer. Apparently, Groupon does not feel this way. Very disappointing.

Bought a 6-day holiday through Groupon, had a pretty awful booking experience. Substantial hidden charges, attempted substitution of the hotel to a poorly rated and far out of town location, plus many other things such as travel connections that made it impossible to even reach our hotel on the first day. Overall it was a pretty BAD experience.

There is loads of fine print that is deceptive. Merchants are not always honest - some are great. Groupon does not have customer support by phone only chat and email. They will always give a hard time to customer.

They absolutely did not help me to resolve a problem that has created the partner. I looked for help by contacting them over and over again. Without words! I'm speaking about Groupon UK!!

Grouopon refused to refund on a faulty 'goods' item despite agreeding that they would. Poor service, poor communication - would not recommend
