There are some mistakes. Coeliac disease (sensitivity to gluten) is not an allergic disease it is a food sensitivity. PH should be pH The pronunciations of 'protozoa' and 'staphylococcus' are wrong. The question about food labelling is very misleading because it suggests it is looking for two answers, two of them are found on food labels. The question on physical hazards is a nonsense - they are all physical hazards in some form.

Some part of the testing used a unusual usage of grammar. Liked the clear illustrations. Narrators voice was clear and good.

Was easy to navigate through but at times the volume was a bit jumpy.

The training was very basic in appearance and interactivity. The stock images became rather tedious and didn't aid the text or its content. Videos may have helped to illustrate some of the topics being considered, or some of the techniques being described.

I did enjoy the course, but there were a few hitches. Firstly couldn't get to make the payment and go forward. There were two occasions when I had the answer to the interactive work, I couldn't progress forwards even though the answer was correct. In the end I went and got out my notes from the course I did 3 years ago and then put the answers in again after the 10th time and it accepted it. Not sure why that was. Like the idea of interactive multiple choice, but also miss the class room setting to discuss points raised.

There were a few errors in the questions asked during the modules. last module on noise vibration etc question ask what would help you make a vehicle visible and 1 of the answers was fit an alarm? ears hear eyes see. You should make this so people can go straight to the quiz,

Hi Joe, Thank you very much for taking the time to write us a review. I have passed your comments onto the appropriate team and they have let me know that the question: 'How can you ensure that a vehicle will be seen by members of the public?' is answered correctly in the course as you can usually see alarms flash, which was mentioned earlier in the course. With regards to going straight to the quiz, by going through all of the material then passing the assessment we are able to certify that the candidate has been given all of the relevant information and correctly applied it to pass the assessment. I hope that helps but please feel free to contact our Support Team on 0333 006 7000 or support@highspeedtraining.co.uk if you want any further information. We're here Monday through Friday, 9am - 5pm. Thanks again, Phoebe (Customer Support, High Speed Training)

the online set up is ok as a reminder for most people but I think should not be used as a training tool. this system lacks the input from others in a classroom

I found the course interesting, but possibly far in advance of my needs - I belong to a group which has an annual show, when it provides refreshments to the public for only that one occasion in the year. We have little control over the premises, although much was relevant in the wider sense. We do have three occasions in the year when we provide refreshments for the members of our club, rather than the general public. I found the course somewhat repetitious and thought that the little quizzes could have been more frequent, and of a harder standard, as indeed could the final assessment. The certificate which I received when I took the course four years ago has no date on it. There is a date on the accompanying letter, however.

Hi Helena, Thank you for your review and feedback, we appreciate it a lot. To comply with the law you need to be able to demonstrate that all food handlers have an appropriate level of knowledge of food hygiene. EC Regulation 852 states that all food handlers must be trained in food hygiene matters commensurate with their work activity. Even if your work activity with food is minimal, it's definitely better to be safe and make sure you're covered for everything. I also find that the principles of Food Hygiene can be applied to every day life! I think it's a great idea to have the confirmation exercises appear more frequently throughout the course. We really value the opinions of our customers so I've passed your comments onto the appropriate team to see if there is something we can do for future users. With regards to a renewal date on your certificate, the new one will have a "recommended renewal date" of three years appear on it - for your reference. I hope that helps and thank you again and we wish you all the best in the future. Kind regards, Phoebe (Customer Support, High Speed Training)

Course and quiz OK but "can't open file" message on downloaded certificate. Have PDF reader installed so it must be the file itself. No good if needed straight away.

Hi Richard, Thank you very much for your review. I'm sorry to hear that you had a problem printing your PDF certificate; it may have to do with a setting in your browser. You can always try logging into another browser to download it or our Support Team is on hand Monday through Friday, 9am - 5pm, to help and we are more than happy to e-mail PDF certificates if they are needed right away. As standard, we also post out the hard-copy certificates within one working day, by First Class post. All the best, Phoebe (Customer Support, High Speed Training)

I thought the course was good, as I normally type minutes directly on to a laptop as my typing speed is very fast so find that easier, then put them into a brief note form later, I will try to write bullet form notes instead and see if this is easier for me as I did not realise that some people can find the note taker distracting typing onto a keyboard. I was recently tested at an interview for minute taking and failed the test as I had to listen to video tapes and then handwrite the minutes, which I found difficult as my notes were note very good. The only thing I did not like about this course is that the words "High Speed Training " will appear on the certificate in large print - as high speed insinuates it is not very thorough and has been rushed. I need the certificate as back up for my CV for a job interview as a larger part of the role is taking minutes, so hoping that taking the course and having the certificate will help.

My day job is in the field of organisational learning and development. I took this assessment to help a friend with a food prep business. I am interested in elearning as it is being used to replace many areas of face to face training at work, and for some things it's a really good alternative. Re this course, it was very clear, there was not too much info on the slides, they were well sequenced etc. I do not, however, feel that my understanding has been sufficiently tested, and there was not enough interaction or questioning or challenge during the modules for me to think that much of it will stick. Each multiple choice question or reordering sequence during the modules meant I had to apply my knowledge which shifted me into another gear - I think if this is not to be just a tick box exercise it needs to include more of those examples etc. But I appreciate that for many employers this is a tick box exercise and you have to balance cost, time and assessment methods with outcomes! Very interesting. I am very likely to to take some of your other on-line training assessments in health and safety, as that's the area I am currently working in.

I felt the 'quizzes' were of inconsistent difficulty - one module quiz in particular came across as patronisingly easy in comparison to others.

The course I needed was easy to access and register/pay for. However, within the module itself, I would have preferred more questions to answer rather than being given a scenario and then simply being told the correct answers. I don't feel this has been the most effective way to refresh my current knowledge of Safeguarding procedures when working with children.

I thought the context of the course was good. I did think some of the questions in the assessment were ambiguous and not very clear. The answers also very random ! Example of this - pick the physical hazard, peanut or plaster ? it could be both ! Place you would find the highest risk of bacteria- hospital. What's that got to do with working in a kitchen ? Shouldn't the answers be a choice from sink, bins, toilet. I did see the relevance to these questions for high food hygiene standards but maybe you need to word them in a different way. Having worked in kitchens all my life I would like to think my staff were being asked more relevant questions and not being purposefully caught out. As it doesn't really serve the purpose of the exercise. Do you put these questions in so people don't get 100% ? Apart from that I thought it was good.

Hi Tansy, Thank you for your review and feedback, we really appreciate your comments! I'm sorry to hear that you found some of the questions ambiguous, unclear and random. I've forwarded your review onto the appropriate team to look into further. I was advised to let you know that "peanuts" is classed as an "allergenic hazard", not "physical", and the questions are worded to make you think carefully and aren't meant to be too straightforward. We're always looking to improve our services and if you could please let us know any other comments you have, that would be really helpful for us. If you'd like to contact us, you can call: 0333 006 7000 or e-mail: support@highspeedtraining.co.uk with your suggestions. Many thanks! Kind regards, Phoebe (Customer Support, High Speed Training)

Hello Benjamin, Thank you for your review and feedback. I am sorry to hear that you felt the pages took too long to load. The content is displayed in line with the audio voice over and as our courses are used and therefore must be understood by people of all abilities, this means that faster readers may have a delay in being able to click the 'Next' button. The course was designed in this particular way as it inhibits people from skipping through the course material. I have passed your feedback and comments onto the appropriate team as we are always looking to improve our services. I have since been reassured that this is an area that the team are working on for future courses. If you'd like any other information, please feel free to contact me directly on 0333 006 7000 or support@highspeedtraining.co.uk. We're here Monday through Friday, 9am - 5pm. Many Thanks. Was organised into modules to allow it to be done it bitesize chunks, although the test module covered everything. Therefore, given I'd looked at the first two modules a few days ago, it rendered the time I spent two days ago as pretty pointless as I hadn't (and people don't) memorise irrelevant random facts.
