I’ve just had the misfortune to visit the store at Syon Lane, it is truly the worst customer “service” I’ve ever come across! The staff are completely uninterested in helping, selling or giving any kind of service whatsoever! I wanted to buy a cordless drill, I waited for ages for a staff member to come and help, eventually I decided to go and find someone. The first staff member I approached made it very clear that he couldn’t be bothered as he was SO busy stacking a shelf. I went off to find another, the next one had to be cajoled into “helping” me, we went to the tool section whereupon having scanned the item I wanted he announced that they had NONE in stock ! I asked why don’t you sell me the one on display ? To which he replied that it’s only for display !!! So you have on display an item you DON’T have in stock ...what’s the bloody point of having it on display then ???? Absolutely dreadful and you have now lost yet another customer.

Last 2 times bad customer service. First visit no price on any bags cement. Asked male assistant: reply you'll have to wait as he walked if chatting to join another 2 staff. I walked out. Today asked where is paving sand. Reply if its not there look outside. Outside member if staff said its inside. Looked but none seen . Walked out.

I couldn’t get the paint I wanted so they mixed it for me not only that they didn’t know how to change pot but they read instructions and done it they hadn’t done it before also it was passed there closing time and still they were happy to continue I want to give them a verry big thank you it was the Berwick sore there names are Stephen. Linda. And Lynn so please give them a good mention thank you so much they were brilliant

This is a pretty good program if you go with the paid package. The biggest/most frustrating aspect of this program for me is the wait time for customer service. Thankfully I don't have to contact them often. However, today, I did and again waited for an extended amount of time (almost 40 minutes).That is a long wait time when you are trying to run a business.

I bought a 'Airwave Four Seasons Essential 3x3 Pop Up Gazebo No Sides'. After being erected for approximately 3 days (not left up), the canopy ripped, in hot sunny none windy weather. I contacted customer services, told to send photos, which I did. I then received an email from their 3rd party - Expressco Direct Limited, who asked how long was it up for, to which my reply was 3 days. With that I was told I was at fault as I had left it up unattended. My response was that ' they did not ask if it was up continuously and I did not state either way. To me it was a loaded question tricking me into a statement they could use against me. Homebase customer service now refuse to answer my emails, Expressco Direct Limited refuse to replace or repair, but have offered to sell me a replacement canopy!! So don't buy from Homebase if it involves a 3rd party as they won't do anything. Don't buy from Expressco Direct Limited as they take your money and run

I visited the Glasgow shawlands branch recently to buy paint. Cath from the Dulux paint mixing desk was so pleasant, helpful and very knowledgable. She gave me lots of ideas and information to help me make the correct choice of paint and colour. Very helpful and pleasant lady.

Terrible customer service. When you email them they filter emails and reject saying they cannot accept. A very clever way of ignoring you. Also to ring head office is a premium rate number so you are expected to pay for the privilege of getting your refund. They are the worst company I have ever dealt with. I will never use them again.you

Do not buy a kitchen from home base. They send you items you do not need, charge you for them and then make it impossible for you to contact them or return the items. Disgusting service.

Ordered paint just before lockdown kept saying it was on its way 10 weeks later after numerous emails and refused to give refund eventually got a refund but no apology terrible customer service would never order from Homebase again

Placed order on line to buy garden storage. I received confirmation told item would be delivered in 5 days time between 7am and 8pm. Item did not arrive. Rang customer services which turns out to be based in India. I was told someone from delivery would be in touch the next day. No correspondence or call received. Rang customer services in India a further 3 times over the next few weeks. Still no information received. No one got in touch with me at all. although payment for my item was taken. Finally found an email address for Homebase sent message, after several days received a reply informing me they were sorry for delay in replying but were pleased my item had been delivered on 31st July! I replied immediately informing them that I had not received the item to which they have not replied! Finally managed to get phone number for my local Homebase spoke to manager who was going to look into matter for me but I decided to ask for refund. Which I am waiting to receive. Will never shop at Homebase again this is the worst online shopping experience I have ever encountered!! Apart from confirmation of my order I never heard another word from them. I’ve had to waste my time and money chasing everything up....shocking treatment!! Would like to give Zero stars!

Attitude and not being very helpful with explaining the difference with fine textured masonry paint, and ultra smooth masonry paint which lv used quite a bit off. He couldnt tell me of the top of his head "the difference"!!!! Asked me what I wanted to do about it. I said l wanted to know the difference. Iv never used either in my life before. He said he told me 5 mins ago l looked at my phone which read 4mins 24sec. He said l was splitting g hairs. No l wasnt l said l dont know the difference between Fine Textured and Ultra Smooth!!!! Hence l rang Customer Services straight after and complained. Said for me to write a feedback

I went to buy an orchid plant today and most of them were very poor. I did find a reasonable one but when I went to pay there wasn't any staff on any of the check outs. After waiting several minutes I gave up and left. There were several other people waiting too

Bought Hammeright garage door white paint at Morecambe store. This proved poor quality lacking pigment. I returned to store but they had none in stock to replace. A voucher was offered. I have tried to order online without being successful. They seem to keep very poor stocks.

I will never buy Homebase paint again. I bought a 750ml tin of Silver Cloud satin finish wood and metal paint which either smears lightly on the surface being painted or runs like Usain Bolt. The units being painted were lightly sanded to key, and cleaned with sugar soap, before having Dulux professional brilliant white undercoat applied. All was well at this point, but I soon regretted using a brilliant white undercoat and an off-white top coat, especially when the paint reticulated showing craters and brush marks. This can happen according to the can, and you must apply further light coats. I have repainted my kitchen 4 times now and it has a distressed look that I didn't want. I waited 4 hours between recoats. A suggestion online for the poor coverage and cratering is contamination.

I am disgusted with the service of this company, I ordered garden furniture on June 16th I was promised delivery within 14 but allowing for the situation I allowed longer, I was told it was lost in transit another be on the way within 7 days, nothing arrived and assured I would receive it in the next few days. Nothing, looking online discovered they have been reduced complained again only to be told items were now out of stock and things do go wrong money to be refunded within next 7 days. Here's hoping

Such a let down really bad customer service wouldn’t ever bother ordering on line they just don’t care about letting people down terrible company you think home base use to be top notch not any more how ever temping a deal maybe don’t waste your time no stars would be more appropriate big big big waste of time!

Would give them zero stars if I could. Ordered a garden table and 6 chairs. They delivered the table and 5 chairs. Their customer service was extremely unhelpful and it felt deliberately awkward. Once they agreed that I had a none complete order, their suggestion was to return the table and 5 chairs, and they would replace it with a table and 6 chairs. It appears they can’t or won’t send a missing item by itself. Eventually they offered money for the chair that is missing. However they wouldn’t tell me if I could buy a single chair from them, or how much they individually cost. This has taken months to eventually have a resolution that I’m not happy with. Homebase- I won’t be buying from you again, and your customer service is appalling.

Ordered a 4 seater dining set in early June and experienced delay in recieving it, which I was happy to overlook due to COVID-19. However, when recieving I was first asked by the courier if I was returning an item - I was not. And then asked if I recieving 2 x dining sets - I was not. The item that was delivered looks like somebody elses return - metal chair legs are bent and faulty and metal screws were in an opened plastic bag tied with red ribbon. RETURNS ARE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT Email correspondence is slow and often does not acknowledge the issue. After phoning to arrange collection, delivery company (DX) did not get in touch still 7 days later. Phoned 3 more times to query when collection would be and still waiting (23.07.20) for contact from DX. Refund will not be issued until Homebase have received item and I am being advised that I cannot return to the store as it was an online purchase.

A good company, but I could never be sure if they stocked what I needed when I called. Their staff were helpful, if they were to be found!
