I was extremely impressed with two members of staff at the Walthamstow branch who kindly went the extra mile by helping me look for some Arris rails that were incorrectly priced on the Internet and in store. Both members of staff made enquiries and were able to ascertain what the mistake was and rectified it. I would like to praise both Karen and Julie for their exuberant customer service. A big 'Thank You' to them both. 👍😀

Rayleigh Weir Homebase. I had changed my mind on wallpaper bought at Homebase. I looked on the Homebase website as I have always been happy with their service & found a Kelly Hoppen wallpaper that was perfect for my dinningroom. When I called the Rayleigh store the lady advised me no store had same batch number for the 6 rolls I required but offered to get back to me if any became available. Within the hour I returned the unused rolls & on telling Sharon the lady on the desk my story she said a delivery had recently arrived & she would check if any of the wallpaper I required was on the delivery.......... Imagine my delight when she returned with 6 rolls of the wallpaper I wanted. I would like management to be aware of the excellent service 'Sharon' gave. Many would not have bothered to look.......THANK YOU Sharon.

What used to be a pleasant experience has now turned into an absolute disaster area! The store looked like a warehouse, with cardboard boxes everywhere, infantile signage everywhere - except where I needed it, empty shelves proliferated, so many plants in the garden area looked half dead, and to cap it all, kitchen and household items completely discontinued. What has happened to what was an excellent chain of stores!

I ordered some garden chairs on the internet over a month ago. Will not go into all the phone calls I have had about delivery. Final straw- today - told to wait in until 1.00pm for delivery and just got a phone call from a driver whom I could hardly understand with some story of going to Romford. He could not give me a time. I am absolutely fuming. He said he would phone back in a few minutes and has not done so. This is truly the worse internet shopping experience I have ever had.

Not really that bad, it's just that Homebase are getting worse. No staff on tills, customers waiting at "Service" desk to pay for purchases. Product ranges reduced and popular brands discontinued. It looks like a store in decline.

Since being taken into the Bunnings Group my local HomeBase has been transformed, with a much wider variety of serious DIY/Small Business tools and equipment. The staff seem more knowledgeable and willing to sort out your problems, checking with neighbouring stores if you needed an item not on the racks, and calling back promptly to say when it had arrived. This is much more like the excellent Bunnings stores I found in Australia, where they certainly don't deal in fluff and flummery!

I had a problem with the price of paint I had bought and e-mailed the store at Upton, Wirral. The manager, Alan Welch, e-mailed back without delay and asked me to call in to resolve the matter. I arrived in the evening when only the duty manager was there, and expected to have to explain myself, but Alan had left all details with the manager on duty and the matter was settled to my satisfaction.

"I went to the Newmarket store, I have just moved locally and needed a wide variety of products and advice. The gentleman I spoke to , Phil, was extremeley helpful, friendly, approachable and knowledgeable. He helped me to source all my goods and even looked for special offers and deals.... Phil took my gardening tools and other purchases to the counter and then helped me load my car. I don't even know if he noticed my walking stick at all. I wish all salespeople were Phil, shopping in general and indeed, life, would be a much nicer experience......Thank You Phil. "

On a visit to the local homebase store..I was looking at a paticular product. Trying to find a member of staff for help was impossible. After a few minutes finally managed to find a staff member who was sorting an area for new products. On approaching him I asked for help. He said 'what is you want know' without a smile just a sigh as he had been interupted. I did say I had been trying to find a member of staff..(no reponse) We made our way practically running to the product I was interested in..I explained how much meterage I need to cover...he replied you need 4 or 5 boxes if one box is not needed bring it back. I replied ok thanks I need a trolley..he replied as he walked away 'the trollies are outside at the front' I did need help to load a trolley so had to leave the store without the goods. I walked passed the staff member saying I would have to bring my son to help me..& asked if the product would still be available. He replied without looking up..'its not going anywhere it will be here' His attitude can only be described as aggrogant & unfriendly.. I don't think I will be visiting again I will try another well known diy store in the area. If the staff member was too busy to help he should have found another member of staff to assist me.

My husband and I went to our local Homebase yesterday (Peel Retail Park, Washington) to buy some decorative stones for the garden. We had to make two journeys as we didn't know exactly how many bags we would need. I have to say all the staff were very helpful but David who we saw on our second visit was exceptional. He loaded our trolley, pushed it to the checkout and as there was a bit of a queue, he opened a checkout so that he could put our goods through. He then pushed the trolley to the car and loaded it for us. We would just like to say thank you to David as his help was very much appreciated. Well done Homebase! E & J 30August 2017

I went into Homebase in Letterkenny last week to check on the price of a new Hoover, only to find that the whole place had been changed around since my last visit. After walking around for what seemed like an age and not being able to find them I asked a young man where they were situated now. Not only did he give us directions, he actually took the time to escorted me to the exact spot where the vacuum cleaners were stored. Now I have to say that, for no particular reason, I had expected their prices to be slightly more expensive than other electrical retail outlets, when in fact they were extremely competitive and in fact the hoover I chose was slightly cheaper than anywhere else I'd looked. By this time the young man who had been so helpful had gone, so I looked around for somebody else to assist, as the box was too heavy and cumbersome for me to manage alone. The only person around was working in the next section and because of that I think I was expecting to get a negative response from him, that this section was not his responsibility. However, credit where credit is due. Not only was he willing to help, he got a trolley, loaded up the vacuum cleaner, escorted us to the till, processed the payment and then escorted me out to the car and loaded it in the boot. I regretted afterwards that I didn't ask his name as he was friendly and extremely thoughtful and saved me alot of time and hassle. So top marks to the two lads in Homebase, that's proper customer service for you!

We had a kitchen fitted by Homebase in February. Poor shoddy workmanship and left uncompleted. Been waiting since then for work to be redone or completed. After, sink found leaking it was discovered the sink had not been fitted properly and not even secured. Original sealants coming off, extractor fan sellotaped at top to keep in place are just a few of the faults You could not make it up! Appalling along with poor customer after care.
