“Walking into Kwik Fit and seeing their staff wearing masks does make you think of Dick Turpin. As I pulled in with a nail embedded in my tyre, past experience told me what to expect. Previously, I had booked a basic oil change and was told that I needed new break pads just two weeks after my M.O.T made no mention of this. I didn't replace them for another 11,000 miles. On this occasion, I was told that you need 2 new tyres because you have flat spots and 'we're not that sort of place to send you out on tyres with flat spots'. I'm not convinced that the tyre with the nail couldn't be repaired but I didn't want to risk my alloy going elsewhere. I told them that one tyre would be enough.
Next day, I was 4 miles up the road and my tyre warning light went off - it was the tyre I had said I wouldn't replace. I got out and looked at the tyre and it looked fine. Smelling a rat, I reset the tyre warning indicator and 150 miles later there have been no more alerts. These jokers appear to have stored the settings then let some air out of the tyre to trigger a warning.
if you read reviews of what it is like to work there, workers complain of being forced to try and upsell to motorists. Terrible rip off company. Hopefully next time I get a puncture, I'm close to a more honest company.”
“Booked in advance, informed them of type of car, tyres sizes, and requirement for two tyres to be fitted to front wheels, they put the car on a ramp, then told me they did not have the tyres in stock, total water of my time, very unhelpful staff”

“Totally incompetent!! I phoned to check if they could fix a puncture for my car tyre and was told to bring it in "no problems, we'll do it right away". I drove to the workshop and was told, when I arrived, that there would be at least a two hour wait before they could start on it!!! I couldn't wait that long and asked why I had been told to bring it right in. They denied that any staff member had said that, so I pressed redial on my phone, in front of the staff member, and the office phone rang with me on the other end!!! He got all defensive then and started saying they were "very busy" - no sign of an apology for wasting my time. I certainly won't be going back to Kwikfit Oldham!!”
“complete cowboys my car had a puncture that wasn't repairable surprise surprise middle of the tread refused to repair because tyre was close to legal limit I asked them to take my car out and asked to get tyre blown up to which they refused to blow it up so had to blow my own tyre up decided to get a second opinion went to farmer auto care to find out the tyre was at 3.63 mm using a digital gauge took them 20 mins and a was back on the road puncture fixed for free avoid at all cost”
“Purchased 4 hankook tyres for my van lasted me 3 months of that 4/5k miles. Thread bare and a whole on both front. Van fully checked no issues just terrible quality tyres !!! Asked for a response in writing and just keep phoning me !!!”
“I paid for an MOT and wanted to cancel. They gave me a number to call for cancellation which I called and waited for HOURS with no reply. As no one was able to reply, I was unable to cancel which is very frustrating and unfair. I would not recommend them.
Their online booking cancellation system does not work either. It feels like a scam to stop you from cancelling or moving your appointment.”
“Told me they had taken a shard of metal out of my tyre and I needed a £129 new tyre. Next day - my mot and service confirmed there was nothing wrong with my tyre . Scammers ??”
“Not recommended, lied about puncture, said I needed a new tyre for £80, as there was a nail in the side wall of tyre, when asked to see nail, it was in fact was in the centre of tyre, independent garage repaired puncture for £15. Just felt they were lying and attempting to make unnecessary sale”
“Brought a set of brand new tyres, 1.5 years later they’re threadbare and one developed a hole, phoned them up to report and was told the guarantee was only for 12 months. Total waste of money and time.”
“The booking service on line does not interact with the technicians diaries so you can book and pay on line only to get a phone call the next day saying they won’t be coming. Great, especially when you’ve arranged a day off so as to be available at the time booked.”
“Went to my local branch today, but got ignored by the only person that was there. He eventually came to find out what I was needing, but only when he was ready. Didn’t even have the courtesy to acknowledge that he had seen me there waiting. I know it’s strange times just now but you would think that firms should be bending over backwards to get some business.”

“Worst place (Hinckley KWIKFIT) i have come across; reported an exhaust fault, did not even raise car off the ground, just looked under bonnet. they couldn't be bothered because i told them i was not interested in other services the girl on reception had tried to push. As for a timed appointment, that's a joke, they think the customer has nothing better to do than watch them talking to each other. Total waste of time.”
“car went in to have front brake pads done, they said discs need doing as well also need a new back tyre. so paid £295. but drove out without any brakes hardly working. took it back they said rear brake pipe is broke and leaking oil and they can do nothing about it.so had to drive home using handbrake. car went in fine everything good . came out of kwikfit very dangerous to drive.”
“I have now written 2 emails to complain , I took my van in for a full service they were supposed to check the suspension which they didn’t it had been making a squeaking sound so I paid extra for tracking they said it was nothing dissatisfied I took it to a separate garage a week after it turned out it was the stabiliser arms as they were bent to top it off 2 weeks after a brake pad fell off because it was so worn down it was metal on metal so they couldn’t have checked that either , makes me wonder did they actually change the oil or did it just go for 3 hours and sit there”
“I only give this star because I had to give a rate .....went there with an exploded wheel today and they said no appointment available. A woman with a child rolling in on completely flat alloywheels.... I asked them if they would be able to help me to put on the spare wheel so i could get to the next tyre service?? They said again no as there are no appointment available...seriously?? And there are three of them were sitting in the waiting room doing nothing!!.No humanity at all!! I asked a random man on the street to help me in that 10 min job and managed to fix my car with an engineer who cares about his job . Shame on you guys!! Would never ever walk in your garage and will not recommend to anyone to do that.
