Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! Laptop broken down twice for less than three years, luckily I avail the extended warranty and usb back up. Now technical team said they dont need the usb, I realised that the usb back up amounting to £25 is of no use because the laptop has built-in back up and as for the warranty, I paid additional £20 for them to pick up my laptop, they took £28.82. I complained and told them that, they said they've refunded me 8.82 now I found out they didn't refund me the money to where I paid them instead to a different account they said I used to purchase the laptop 3yrs ago. Strange because it has been closed two years ago. Bank thought it is fradulent because there is no account anymore with my name exsisting on them. Dodgy company beware and don't give your bank details better if you really wish to purchase product with them pay them in cheque

Rather a big mistake to ever make a purchase from Laptops Direct. I was sold a product with an upgrade. Now down the line when a fault occurred outside of warranty (which is ok) I am told by Acer that the product. I was sold should never have been sold with an upgrade as it is not comparable. Acer or laptop direct or even Microsoft do not want to no. Laptop direct just say put it in writing we will do nothing but reply in 14 days. Totally avoid any purchase from this company or Acer both are dreadful.

If I could give negative stars I would, I ordered a laptop from them waited a week for delivery, the got a phone call explaining that they no longer had in stock and was not made anymore. Fair enough so they offer me a reconditioned model with a slightly higher spec. Fine however when the laptop shows up within the week it starts not working properly. Won't turn on, audio I messed up and the video is rubbish. I contact them several time and go through every step of advice they give. Which was extremely thard to get by the way. It takes 2 months to admit that bit needs fixed. I send the laptop back in the best packaging I have but gets damaged In transit. The are refusing to even look.at the problem so I'm stuck with a laptop that one doesn't turn on and I'm still paying for. Staff were unhelpful and every request to correspond via email was ignored meaning the process was needlessly long and stressful. Will never use them again

We ordered a all in one PC from Laptops Direct and they delivered wrong item. When asked them to return the item and refund they said my return request was not accepted as this is a business order and they do not accept unwanted returns. Firstly whatever the reason this is an unacceptable customer service and more importantly when it is totally their mistake delivering wrong item they blame us ordering wrong item. How can any business carry on with this kind of service from a supplier? This is totally unacceptable. What a waste of time dealing with them, what a waste of money spend with them if you are a business. If this is how they treat to a potential business customer which can spend over £250k per annum I do not even want to imagine how they would treat individual customers. Doing business with any of the group companies again? Never again. Not through work and not personally. And whatever the result maybe, I will make sure everyone I know through work and personally know what kind of a company buyitdirect is. Ohh well if they wont accept return then I will contact my bank and if necessary visa company. Not because of value of item but principle. They need to learn how they should provide "Customer Service"

Bought a laptop from these people in April, paid full. Laptop delivered faulty, had it returned and another delivered seven days later. Also faulty, confirmed by manufacturer. Laptop direct suggested that the manufacturer was wrong, sent back second laptop only to be told that the tech process takes fourteen days. Three weeks and no laptop. False advertising as they are selling faulty units at premium price. Request refund and now awaiting their excuses on why they will refuse to pay. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!!

Ordered a camera from laptopsdirect on the 2nd of April, should have been delivered on the 25th of April (quite a long time, huh?). On the 22nd of April I received an email from them telling me they no longer have that particular camera in stock and they would call me to arrange a refund or choose an alternative product. I waited 3 days, they never called me, I called them to request a refund (13p/min), the lady over the phone was extremely bored, not too helpful. I got the refund in 7 days, on their website it says 3-5 days. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.

I ordered a Laptop from laptopsdirect.co.uk and it was fine, now 2 months later I have ordered another one, over the phone. There was some issues with their web page as it was not displaying correct information. Such as the HDD showing as 1GB rather than 1TB. In all the conversation and order process took 9 minutes, going through all the information and finally getting my card details over. I received my Laptop the next day, however the following day I find another laptop, the same as the one ordered 2 months previous. When asked, the order went through 3-4 minutes before the phone order was made. This is obviously a mistake on their behalf, I would not order whilst in the midst of giving my card details over to them or even asking about a specific product staring at the webpage asking why is there informational mistakes on the page which he informed me was purely clerical and put me straight with its specifications. Laptops Direct have refused to help me at all and have now stopped contacting me regarding this issue. I feel this company has let me down dramatically and I can not trust them anymore. I will never use this company or its partners again.

The laptop was delivered with numerous faults-the charger was faulty, the @ key typed " and vice versa, the headphone connection didn't work amongst other things. The customer services have refused to do anything, saying they can't check the other faults due to the charger being faulty-and that I broke it! I would not recommend anyone buys anything from this company. Bunch of crooks. The laptop is clearly a very poor refurbished one, not the brand new one I paid for. I will be taking further action against them.

This is the first time ive used Acerdirect, not only did they sell me a faulty laptop they tried to charge me after i opened it and it did not operate correctly from the box!! When i asked for a refund which was within the 30 days they said i could not return it! I had to then go to the citizens advice who told me they were legally breaking the law and under the consumer legislation act 2015 they had to provide me with a full refund! Agents were unhelpful and defensive from the start! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Once I had placed my order I rang customer services to find out the deleivery day and was told their courier service would call me. THEY DIDNT. They tried to deliver twice in one day without attempting to call the numbers I supplied them with for contact. So I resheduled online for the following day and took TIME OFF WORK. I waited all day and NOTHING. I rescheduled and took ANOTHER DAY OFF WORK and that following morning I called customer services who ASSURED ME the laptop would arrive that day. I rang back around lunch time and was ASSURED A SECOND TIME the laptop was 'out on the road' and 'just around the corner'. It DIDN'T turn up for the SECOND DAY OFF WORK. STILL NO CALLS OF EXPLAINATION from the customer service team so I rang again that morning and made them reshedule, TAKING A THIRD DAY OFF WORK I rang customer services again and was ASSURED. funnily enough I didn't believe them but the laptops arrived that day. I posted my COMPLAINT to them via email and recieved a VOICEMAIL while at work from their complaints department saying them would call back, a week later I called them because they HADN'T called me. I was told that all the complaints supervisors where 'in a meeting' and I would be called back the following day. THEY DIDN'T. I called them the day after and asked to talk to the head of complaints. The woman SPOKE OVER ME, WOULDN'T LISTEN and HUNG UP ON ME. They think that refunding my the £5.00 I paid for postage and packaging is good enough to cover 3 DAYS OFF WORK, A HUGE PHONE BILL and FOUR STRESSFUL DAYS!!!! DO NOT USE LAPTOPS DIRECT!

I tried to return a laptop having read "no quibble returns" only to find the no quibble was going to cost me 10% plus up to £20 postage as I had ordered it under a company name and they would have to open it to make sure it was OK even though it was still sealed!!! No quibble taking it back but be prepared to get stung!! poor service and definately won't use again!!

Laptop faulty. Returned same day. After 3 phone calls, was finally advised that I would have a replacement within a week. 6 days later and they have only just received the laptop via their own couriers. Now been told it will take another 5 working days just for them to inspect it before they even consider delivering a new one. Been trying to get through on phone all day but no reply. Avoid at all costs. Absolute charlatans.

****WARNING! STAY AWAY!*** READ HERE TO FIND OUT WHY Naturally the sales process is great and the prices are good too. However if you ever wanted to return an item, don't expect it to happen smoothly or expect a full refund. I ordered a laptop 3 months ago and was messed around by the rubbish "DX Courier" 5 times. After several requests and weeks later it was finally being cancelled. I asked for a full refund and raised a paypal dispute. Several weeks later still no refund and I contacted LD and they said because I had a paypal dispute, they cannot process the refund. I had asked can they assure me I get the full refund including postage and fee's and they said yes I would. Stupidly I cancelled my paypal dispute which was going to be settled in my favour had I waited 2 more weeks. A week later I received a PARTIAL refund. When I questions them they said it was for the postage and paypal fee's. Remember I was confirmed a FULL REFUND twice so I made a complaint for the small amount owing of £7.88. Several phone calls and after long waiting to connect to the 01481 number I got told by Tari that she will process it now... which never happened. I called a week later and spoke to Jess and she said that the payments where made but can not go through because I had previously raised a dispute. This is also a lie because I asked for a paypal transaction code which she could not provide and I spoke to paypal and they also said that is not possible because no blocks where held against them and the dispute was closed over a month ago. So 3 months on and phone calls in the excess of over £20 later and despite being told I'll be called back several times. Still nothing. After searching other reviews I had found plenty of similar cases. Hidden 10% restock fee's and partial refunds. My advice is if you where to buy from them, use Paypal. And if anything was to go wrong, raise a dispute and wait it out. Do not cancel it even if they ask you too unlike I did. If I had waited just 2 more weeks, I would have won in my favour because under the 2014 Consumer Contracts Regulations, they had to refund the postage and fee's. If you too have experienced a similar experience like mind with Laptopsdirect, I can only suggest you report them to trading standards & financial ombudsman like I have.

I have previously bought two laptops from Laptops Direct and both times I was very happy. Recently, I bought a Zoostorm Desktop computer which so far has worked well. However, the experience of the very late delivery, complete lack of knowledge or help from the customer service department, being overcharged for delivery without explanation and missing items from the box mean that I will never be using the company again. The prices are cheap and I guess if you have no problems with the product or delivery then you shouldn't have to use the customer services, beware if anything goes wrong! I was initially told that the product would be delivered in 5 working days due to it being sent direct from the manufacturer, despite it being 5 days I was charged, without my knowledge, for next-day delivery. All attempts to get this refunded have been ignored. The deliver day came and went, so on day 6 I left a message on their online messaging system asking for an update. 36 hours later I was told that there was a delay, no explanation or apology but that someone would phone me back. With no contact, 2 days later, again, I left a message online asking for an update to be told that they were looking into the problem and that again someone would be in touch, again no one got in touch. Finally I rang, politely asked for an update to be told that there was no stock and there was no indication of when there would be - great communication, thank you. The lady was then quite rude and demanded that I had to decide there and then whether to cancel the order or choose something else. I finally got her to arrange for one of the sales team to phone me that evening to go through some options, which of course they didn't. So despite there being no stock, the computer turned up the next day, but with the mouse missing from the box. I again left a message about the missing item and a refund for the 'next-day' delivery but have never heard anything back. Very disappointed.
