DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! YOU'D BE BETTER OFF TAKING YOUR ITEMS TO A CHARITY SHOP. I sent my practically brand new iPad to this company via DPD collection. The iPad had no scratches, no marks, no chips, and no cracks. I packaged the iPad correctly, using bubble wrap and other things to ensure that it wouldn't get damaged. Once the iPad had arrived to music magpie I received an email saying that the iPad 'is not as originally specified' and that it had a crack in the screen. So I called Music Magpie to find out why my iPad had been damaged, whether it had been in transit or by someone at Music Magpie because this was not how I sent it. A man from music magpie told me he would contact me by the end of the day to find out why it had been damaged. This never happened. I called again to talk to someone at music magpie and they accused me of lying and said that it had not been damaged in transit or by someone at music magpie. LIARS. Therefore they accused me of sending it damaged. NOT TRUE. No one had taken responsibility so now I have a broken iPad on its way back to me. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

My partner and I are moving abroad and had a large amount of CDs, DVDs, games and tech to get rid of. We decided to give Music Magpie a go as they are always being advertised and their app allows you to scan the barcodes for the CDs, DVDs and games, which we thought would save some time. We scanned all items in and we were quoted around £289, so we boxed up the items into 5 boxes; so far so good. We booked the courier to pick up our items the following day and were sent a Pack and Send Guide which included one label for our boxes and we were advised in the email that if we required additional labels for any more boxes, we would need to print them from our account online. We logged in online and there was no option to print additional labels, so we went on the web chat and the young man we spoke to had no idea why this option wasn't available, but told us that we actually didn't need any additional labels as they had booked DPD as our courier and they printed their own labels. When the courier arrived the next day, they had only been told about 4 packages so they could not take all of our boxes. We then spoke to someone else on the webchat, who apologised and re-booked the courier for Monday. I then emailed Music Magpie also to confirm that the courier would know I had 5 boxes to be picked up. I received a reply from Music Magpie confirming that was the case. On Monday, guess what? The courier was only expecting 4 boxes again so he suggested that he take 4 of the boxes and we re-book with Music Magpie to pick up the 5th separately. I then called Music Magpie and spoke to someone, asking them to send ANOTHER courier the following day for the 5th box. So finally all of our boxes arrived at Music Magpie. I then received an email to say that 2 of our CDs were missing, asking us if we had decided not to sell them? I replied saying that there was no way 2 CDs could be missing, as we had scanned all items and immediately boxed them for sending. I then told them that I was disappointed with the service I had received so far and asked them to check again whether our items were there. I did not receive a reply. 2 days later, I received an email saying 'Good news! Your payment from Music Magpie is on its way!' which said that they were sending a payment of £266 - around £20 less than we had originally been quoted. There was no explanation or breakdown of the payment so we could not understand why we were being paid less. Finally, I received a reply to my email regarding the missing CDs, but it did not address any of the points in my email and it did not let me know whether the CDs were ever found or not; it simply told me that my order was now complete. I do apologise for the lengthy review but I feel people need to know about this as I have experienced problems from start to finish with them and I really do not want someone to fall into the same trap of assuming this is a good company because they are a household name and they have a flashy app. I really cannot stress this enough: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Music magpie are literally a bunch of thieving magpies. They paid me less than half of what they originally quoted me for my items; my stuff was in good, playable order, and they absolutely fleeced me. AVOID - go into computer exchange or sell it yourself on eBay.

Without doubt the worst customer service I have ever experienced, lazy, deceitful and potentially one fraudulent employee" 15 hours ago i posted a review, since then i have revived one email for them asking for further details. This relates to among other things fraudulent activity on my bank account that happened after i raised some points with them and asked for clarification. Since then they have deleted my customer account and are claiming to have no knowledge of my order, well my order number is 4025838 and i have hard copies of the 2 transactions..so they can not still deny knowledge. You need to research and read further reviews and be careful in giving bank details, it has certainly been bad for myself. I would urge anyone to seriously consider using another method. I will continue to post updates here, all statements are true, factual and will be backed up by hard copy. Anyone wishing to see the email stream between myself and this company can contact me and this will be forwarded to you.

Sent 2 samsung s5s in excellent condition was quoted £75 each but came bsck saying item faulty we will offer you £15 each one had screen burn other screen fade. Both of these items had been used with cases and glass screen protectors so this is rubbish. Declined their offer still waiting for them being returned just hoping after reading other reviews that they are returned in condition they were sent. Don't use this company you will get ripped off. This company really needs looking into as so many bad reviews wish i'd read them before.

I was offered £37 for my iPhone 5C. It was in near perfect condition, with only very light marks on the back. I was then emailed a revised offered of £6 as the touch screen was not working. This is an absolute lie as it was working perfectly when it was sent to the company only 2 days before. Music Magpie should be more honest with their offers, rather than invent faults with phones they receive. Had I known I would have been offered £6 I would not have went to the trouble of sending it off. Furthermore, when I tried to get more information from their customer service, they were worse than useless. I will never use this company again.

They sent me a lower spec phone than that was described. I'm glad I checked otherwise I might have been nonethewiser. As I needed it straight away due to a broken phone I asked if they could refund the difference in price between the two specifications. They refused and now I have to return the phone meaning I am not only without a phone but have to go through all of the haste of transferring my work.

Sent an immaculate condition Galaxy S6 WITH hard case and screen protector and foam padding. Email received saying that the screen had been "lifted" and back was loose.. Yet the case is undamaged?! .. Total scam artists. I am 100% convinced that they have damaged the phone in an attempt to lower their original bid of £150. I have requested that the phone be returned so I can begin legal proceedings for the damage to the phone. No wonder they have been investigated by Watchdog previously!

My boxes of products were collected on the 11th of May, 6 days down the line I received an e-mail saying they were received, it has been a WHOLE 24 days later and I still am yet to be paid, their excuse is that they didn't receive all of my items, though they went through the effort of e-mailing me that they had?, stupid pathetic company. Took a whole 30 days since they recieved the items and I AM STILL NOT PAID. I would never advise using this company, despite positive reviews.

I upgraded my iPhone to a 7 and had an unlocked 64gB iPhone 6s to sell, in perfect condition. I went on a price comparison site and music magpie quoted £270 so I "sold" it and a courier picked it up. Within a day I received an email saying I had a revised offer of £150 due to "substantial damage" on the phone. It was in mint condition when I sold it! I declined the offer and it was returned to me. There were stickers all over the screen indicating the "damage" - a scratch had appeared!! DO NOT USE THEM!! As an aside I went to a local Game store and sold it for £200!!!

Ordered a £300+ mobile to replace my broken phone in an emergency, paid for 24 hour service as urgently needed it for my own wedding. Should have arrived Friday, found tracking for royal mail was saying that they have been notified that there is a parcel to collect but it has not been picked up yet. Contacted Magpie, who said it definitely went out on the Thursday, contact Royal Mail who said they we only told at 5pm on the Thursday that there was a parcel, nearly 16 hours after I placed my order. Magpie's response was see if it arrives, call us if it doesn't. 6PM Friday ...nothing. Checked tracking, had only just been picked up Friday afternoon. Contacted Magpie, they said "here is a £3.50 refund, nothing more they can do". So now I have a wedding this weekend with no phone, my guests etc cannot call me, I can't take photos. With the bank holiday Monday coming up it isn't going to arrive at my work address until Tuesday, when I'm on my honeymoon. Customer services was unwilling to do anything to help, he actually argued they sent it out in time, then contradicted himself saying they sent it a day late, he couldn't work out in his head that ordering Wednesday evening on a 24 hour service should arrive Friday. Ovoid like the plague if you need reliable delivery times!
