“I look forward to my food bag every fortnight. It takes the hassle out of having to plan on what to make for dinner. The kids love going through the menu to discover what meal they’ll be having for the week. I’ve found that their customer service is great, someone always gets back to you. The only downside is that some of the recipes are long. Ancy”

“I love almost everything about My Food Bag - it is wonderful to learn so many new plant-based recipes. We have been semi-vegan for years, but still had much to learn - I never had thought of roasting beans and chickpeas for instance. Your meals have so many different flavors and textures that add to the overall wow factor. Even my picky eater likes almost all the meals. 2 of us are not fans of mushrooms, so I wish there was a way for us to avoid those, which is partially why I'm only giving you a 4/5 rating. The other reason is the packaging...We have been trying to eliminate plastic packaging as much as possible, but took a giant step backward when we signed up for My Food Bag. Soft plastic is not recycled AT ALL in Taranaki, and there are only a handful of individuals that recycle polypropylene (I make soap dishes out of it - see my photo). So, while during lockdown we have gotten weekly orders from My Food Bag, we will be decreasing the frequency of our orders significantly now, because the waste is so heartbreaking.”

“I love My Food Bag, meals delicious, except for the duck. I have asked not to have the duck (was told I couldn’t change) so gave it another go tonight. Neither of us liked it. The only meals that we haven't liked. Please do not send it again. I will be cancelling my order for that week if duck is in it. Thanks”

“We've really valued the ease and nutrition of MY Food Bag in two situations in the last 18 months, firstly during a period of cancer treatment for my husband and secondly during COVID 19 lockdown. In both cases having a box of food and recipes delivered weekly to the doorstep greatly reduced my personal stress in needing to provide nutritious and varied meals to our family of 4. Both my children (aged 12 and 6yrs) have taken on a cooking night each which has been a real joy in times of increased anxiety for us all. The only change I would like to see is less meat based in the family and classic meals. Our ideal would be a week of meals that had: 1 fish, 1 chicken, 1 vegetarian, 1 beef and 1 other (bacon, lamb, schnitzel, etc). Huge thanks for you My Food Box -I've recently recommended your service to my Mum and now she has joined up too. Emily (Nelson)”

“Sometimes items are not put into box, it feels like there is quite bit of rubbish with the food bag, i find it very convenient it gets delivered to the door also its nice to not have to think about cooking”

“Found the meals varied and fresh. Very good ingredients Found that the meals are a bit spicy for us so we will try out the gourmet meals to compare. Had only one missing item which was in our second food bag in 2019 and apart from two broken items in this weeks delivery 26 April (outside box was not damaged) we wish to continue for the moment”

“We had a really yummy chicken dish tonight, our 4th night of our Fresh Start week. It’s all been really delicious and different and easy. And definitely not spending heaps on poor nutrition takeaways when this is so simple and delicious.”

“Convenience is king! Love how easy everything is! Takes the stress out of thinking about what to buy and cook, and what’s in season etc. Lots of yummy spices and sauces to complete the meals- should do wine pairing too!”

“Monday mornings are the highlight of isolation. As regular as a 1.00pm briefing by good Dr Blomfield, my food bag turns up. The “prepare tasty, varied, nutritious and immune system boosting meals” pressure switch is released. Bubble dwellers emerge from various caves to see whats in store for the week. Ohhs and ahhs fill the house. Thanks for making this lockdown a culinary treat My Food Bag. We love you ❤️”
