“I enjoy the freshness of the meat and vegetables and enjoy the different menus. I would like more choice as I have fussy eaters though”

“Änswers the question, whats for dinner"is the ciche, but its true. We have cooked meals that we would never have tried. And enjoyed most of them We tried the first, and have discovered the NZ made meso. In the end we decided we didnt like lentils, especially the dried ones which turned into glue. We,ve switched to the boxes, the recipies re easier to follow, we do enjoy cooking them together. As to price, we are spending just a little more than when we bought all our own food. With the lockdown, these boxes are a great.”

“I love the deliveries every week! I only order for one (my classic) and feel that the recipes are sometimes repeated. It would be great to have a my choice for one option.”

“My food bag has been great for us - we have busy lives and had got in a bit of a rut when it came to deciding what to have for dinner each day. The recipes are easy to follow with plenty of variety and sometimes we have enough for a third meal. If there is a problem they are super fast to respond and rectify.”

“We enjoy the variety in meals. We especially love that the meal planning part is taken from my week making dinner so much easier. Some recipes challenge our tastebuds, but that’s not a completely bad thing at all.”

“The products are fresh the recipes very delicious. I like the variety and use of different spice and herb varieties. It's always enough we often have a little leftover for the next day. No food waste,just lots of individual packaging.But at least its all recyclable. Highly recommend it.Takes a lot of pressure of me in terms of what to cook, what to shop etc. We love it!!!!”

“Serving sizes are sometimes on the small side (especially if it were 4 adults). Sometimes it feels like it's always the same ingredients so a bit more variety would be good. Great not to have to think as much”

“The recipes are easy to follow, and usually pretty yummy. we get the four person (there is only two of us, but we use the left overs for lunch) We find the portions pretty small. Would be good to see more tempeh rather than tofu every week. But has made our life so much easier and opened us up to much more flavours, we have been vegan for two years, and it’s great to see companies like this accommodating to us!”

“Recipes are delicious and easy to prepare. I love how even the "junk food" style meals incorporate plenty of veggies. The flexibility provided by the My Choice Bag means I can rely on pre-prepared meals during busy weeks, while mixing in some more involved recipes in others. The only downside is the delivery. We occasionally find broken eggs, exploded yoghurt pots, or leaky meat packaging, which can be unpleasant to deal with. This probably happens in 1/5 of the bags we've ordered. Oh and I wish they included stock in the boxes! I sometimes get caught out when a particular type of stock is required as a 'pantry staple'”

We're glad to hear that the recipes are delicious and making life a bit easier :) While the nature of a food delivery service does mean that things don't survive their trip to you from time to time, this is still disappointing to hear as we expect all deliveries to be handled with care. If this ever happens again, do send us an email at hello@myfoodbag.co.nz and we'll be sure to follow this up with our packing team and couriers and credit the cost of any ingredients you can't use. “Overall very good but sometimes the salad greens have seen better days by the time they are delivered to us. But everything else is great and makes my life so much easier.”

I'll be sure to let our suppliers know that some the greens aren't quite making it to you as fresh as they should :) Should you wish to keep your veggies and herbs super crunchy and in tip-top shape, they will stay fresher for longer if you pop them in a sealed tupperware container with a sheet of paper towel over the top!
