“Whilst we enjoy my food bag for the most part, our preference is for the 'my choice' as with the other packages we find that there is always at least one not so great meal. The meat (and salmon) is always high quality. Occasionally we get some dodgy (old/ past its best) vegetables, and sometimes the white fish is a bit pongy. I also dislike the amount of numbers and additives in some of the sauces/ ingredients. I wish they offered free soft plastic recycling as the waste is irksome. However; we do enjoy having it, it's nice to not have to think about it and get out of the rut of cooking the same old things.”

“Takes the pain out of thinking what's for dinner every single night! Cost effective, delicious and healthy! My husband and daughter fight each other to cook now - total win for me! My husband even eats more vegetables and has expanded his beige palate...Also a total win!!!”

“Most of the meals are delicious and easy to make. Only issues we’ve had is from missing items and even a whole meal from out box. Credits are given quickly which is great but it’s still annoying when you plan your dinners around what’s coming in the box.”

“Easy, convenient meals kit in a box. Fresh vegetables which makes my life easy. Meals are large so I often get two meals out of one as I am not a big eater. Fantastic value for money.”

“I am a qualified chef and work 60 plus hours per week. The reason I started with My Food Bag was to take away one more thing to think about in my day - and that is the question, "What am I going to have for dinner?" My Food Bag has had an added bonus of my husband actively and willingly taking his turn to make dinner. The quality and freshness is top notch. The cost is slightly on the high side, but it is all relative. Thanks Nadia and team for giving me options.”

“Some really lovely meals. We opt to have one week on one week off as we have a 6 yr old boy and 11 year old girl. They’ve been great at trying new things but also like the traditional Mac and cheese and Bolognaise on the skipped weeks. My only criticism would be that some of the produce looks a little battered every once in a while. Thanks”

“We enjoy the fresh start meals, the ingenuity of recipes and how simple they sometimes are. This takes all the guesswork out of deciding what to eat each night! My only suggestion for MFB would be to create a 3 nights per week option, as sometimes, the 4 meals a week is too much for full time working couples - it feels like you have to cook a full meal every night even when you don't have much time, as otherwise the food goes off too quickly. 3 meals would allow for less wastage. Also I've noticed more and more items missing or incorrect which is really frustrating when you're ordering these to avoid multiple trips to the grocery store. Other than that, as always, love Nadia's recipes and how nutritionally balanced the meals are.”

“Amazing for when everyone is busy with work/school/daycare etc. Quality is excellent. Meal size can vary a bit. A lot of packaging also but we recycle what we can.”

“Since starting Bargain Box meal times have been a lot more varied with the meals and less stressful to organise as well being a stay at home mum. I am able to prep the meals whilst my little one is having a nap so then cooking time gets cut down even further.”

“We get what we pay for and we are happy with it. Bargain Box is closer to what we'd normally cook, is cheaper, and has less packaging waste than Hello Fresh but we get fewer menu choices and we often get less to eat.”

“I've tried most of the dinner meal kits up for offer in NZ and My Food Bag is most definitely my favourite. The most common trend with the other meal kits I found was similar ingredients being recycled into 'new recipes'. It was easy for the meals to feel repetitive. I haven't once yet thought that with My Food Bag. Every week feels like there are new recipes, many I am eager to try and excited to cook. And overall I feel the quality and convenience match the price. Lastly would like to mentioned their customer service team are very personable, friendly and fantastic to communicate with.”

“Love the convenience and tasty meals - great that as two people, we often have ingredients left over to use for the rest of week (garlic, spices etc). Only complaint is when we've had meals with flatbreads (e.g. tacos, pita bread) they tend to go stale and brittle very quickly. Overall really great to have and very affordable.”

“We've loved Bargain Box for our family. Tasty meals, and lots of variety to choose from each week. The recipes are easy to follow, and you know in advance what pantry staples are needed so you don't get caught short. Our only gripe is that the recipes tend to take longer than the time indicated on the cards.”
