I thought my policy covered routine care for meds given by vet to give at home. Doesnt cover for heartworm or flea/tick prevention.

Claims were easy to submit online. Review was quick. Of my two claims, one was accepted. Payment was quick with direct deposit.

Excellent insurance for my pets. Although recently super long reimbursement times. Almost 30 days. But I do understand how busy they are during this time

I have only had two interactions with them. Somehow, the first one, where I had to buy expensive treatment for demodex mange was denied but I never figured out why and their explanation was unsatisfactory. The second time my dog suffered anaphylactic shock and I rushed him to the Pet ER. That bill was $1700! They haven't denied the claim and it is being processed, but that was 4 weeks ago and I still haven't had a re-imbursement. However, their system, their internet features, make communicating and dealing with them really easy. Very easy to submit a claim and ask questions!

I can only review based on one claim. I purchased ins wellness and medical/accident for our new puppy and liked that the wellness started immediately as we purchased on Thurs and had vet appt on Sat. Our total bill for vet visist and shots/flea/tick/heart guard was $186 and i was anticipating being reimbursed $121. They approved and paid our claim in less than 2 weeks the $121. No questions asked. Will be submitting another in 2weeks for last puppy visit and again for his neuter and microchipping. Def worth the upgraded wellness for at least the first year for a new puppy if you plan on spay/neutering.

The plan that I have covers 90% of most vet costs after a $500 deductible and a $760/yr premium. So far the vet fees are unequivocally accepted by the adjusters with no question as to the amount or no set schedule of fees. I like this. It makes it a lot EASIER to understand. The NEGATIVE feature that I didn't expect is that the deductible is calculated as 90% of what I actually pay. For example, if my dog's first vet bill is $500 then I still have to pay more deductible because I only get credit for paying 90% of that $500 or $450. I did NOT expect that and it seems an unusual way to calculate benefits. It means that the actual deductible is $555.55 NOT $500. I have not considered whether the premium is high or low but I think it most likely to be in the range of other insurers. For this dog, it is $760 with the two dog discount. It is a worth while expenditure as this dog has already had a $5500, LIFE SAVING surgery. Now days, with vet's ability to save dog's lives and the cost of these procedures going ever higher it is necessary to have vet insurance. I just realized that this survey is not for pet insurance but for a PACKAGE DELIVERY SERVICE! That is a strange way for Pet Best to save money but if it keeps premiums low than it is acceptable.

I have been very pleased with Pets Best Health Insurance. I was previously with Nationwide, and felt the need to change. My only issue lately is that it seems to be taking quite some time to get claims processed. My most recent claim was submitted 4/13/21 and on 4/29/21 I had to inquire as to the delay. I hadn’t even received confirmation that they had received my claim, and that is not typical. I have a giant breed and expenses add up quickly. I would recommend this insurance to anyone with a pet, especially if they own a giant breed.
