I have been a long time customer. I’ve always had good service until recently. I have submitted two emails and talked over the phone to a customer service representative regarding corrections requested for my recent claim. It’s been a few weeks now and I still haven’t heard back about my problem. Disappointed 😔

Extremely long wait to speak to a representative. Very slow to receive payment. If you make an error in your decision to pay it takes very, very long to correct the error.

Doesn’t cover much. Too expensive for not a-lot of coverage. My dog is only 3 years old and already there has been a price increase. When my dog will really need the insurance we won’t be able to afford it if the price keeps increasing annually.

Hi, yes, prices will tend to go up as your pet ages. Much like in human health care, an older person is going to be more expensive to insure than a younger one. Similarly, a pet's chances of becoming ill will increase as they age. The insurance premiums are designed to reflect this increased risk of illness. Rates are based on pet's age, breed, and cost of veterinary care in your area. You'll be happy to know that prices do not go up because of your pet's personal claims filing activity. We notify you 40 days prior to renewal to let you know what to expect and renewal is 12 months from your enrollment date.

I find that Pets Best makes it difficult to approve claims. They scrutinize receipts and make it very hard to pay claims. Every year they increase the monthly fees to insure my pet.

The only reason I don't rate higher is because honestly their preexisting condition policy is kinda BS.

Unfortunately, pet insurance is not able to cover a pre-existing issue, meaning something manifested prior to the policy going into force. However, there are still hundreds of other issues your pet could encounter that we'd be able to help with. After my initial claim was sent in I received an e-mail saying it was being processed. A few days later I received another bill from the emergency clinic where I took my dog. I paid it online and faxed in my receipt. I never received a confirmation as to whether or not it was received. It took three calls to customer service to be able to connect with a representative who was most helpful. I think they take too long to process claims. I am satisfied with the amount I am being reimbursed. I haven't received payment as of this date but was informed it would 5 to 7 seven days so I can't comment on delivery time. I think they should up their turnaround time in processing claims.

Coverage itself is very expensive and becomes EXTREMELY expensive once pets are older. It is cost prohibitive to get a policy that doesn’t have a high deductible. Therefore, it’s not as useful for “normal” accidents and illnesses - it is more useful for major incidents. But even then, the lifetime limit for a claim is low so you can use up your benefit very quickly. The claims submission process is easy, but it takes a long time for claims to be reviewed.

Slow processing and no indication of how I will get my claim payment

Rejected claims with no explanations until calling customer service. Have to call 3 times to find out the reasons. Wait time averaging over 45 min each time. Finally received payments after three months of follow up.

I bought insurance for my dog because I want him to be able to get the healthcare he needs in any type of emergency or illness. I don’t think the wellness plan is very helpful after the first year because the services provided for the same animal or once in a lifetime. I’ve been owners I know we should cover all the cost of our animals healthcare; however, whenever I post a claim it usually took around five days to process and show it was in process and then take another two days to post the payment if I was to get anything back from what I was paying. Now they claim appeared as received for 27 days. On the 28th day, it was processed and finalized. I think the insurance company should either hire more employees to process claims or require them to publish the claim as in progress sooner.

Expect the rates to increase every year. The reimbursements will take almost a month to be deposited. Otherwise has been fine.

I just filed my first claim in two or three years for a well visit. I am disappointed that my rate was raised over $12 a month.

I’ve only had the pet insurance for 4 months. I’ve put in two claims. The first claim was paid within two weeks. Still waiting for second one. I had to call their number and it took me two days to get someone to answer the phone! . Frustrating. Hire more people. After finally getting someone to answer , Emily, she took care of the problem. She was very nice and helpful. Still waiting for my check but at least I am sure she is ion top of it.

They were really good and getting claims processed a few years ago. Use to be like 4 to 5 days. Now my latest took 30 days. Then another 5-7 to be reimbursed. They said they are trying to hire more people but that was a while ago.

Long wait times to receive reimbursement. Haven’t had any issue with reimbursement amounts. The app is easy to use and submitting claims is an easy process, however some days the app doesn’t work. Over all I’m okay with pets best I just wish I could get my money back quicker than 4-6 weeks!

You need to offer a Zero deductible on your plans ,The lowest deductible offered on my plan was 500,
