“I have had insurance for my dogs for 3 years or so. I have had no claims up until December. One of my dogs ended up in the emergency clinic for a laceration repair. The bill was over $800 and I was reimbursed $41. I expected the $500 deductible but the rest of the coverage is laughable. I will be canceling my coverage and as a veterinarian will no longer be recommending this company.”

“Recently I submitted a claim 4 my dog 4 checkup and vaccines. I am unhappy that u did not reimburse 4 physical examination especially that u just raised my premuim by $13.00.”

“Really great build your own coverage options, and does cover everything they say they will, but VERY SLOW to payout. Which could be a big problem for some, and is quite annoying even when you can cover the full cost upfront.”

“Pets Best took care of my claims quickly. I also had to place a call to them recently with questions about the app and all of my questions were addressed. The customer service specialist went above and beyond by also identifying that some documents I submitted on my claim were not visible and walked me through what to do so my claim would not be delayed. Thank you!”

“Refused my claim as being for a ‘pre-existing’ condition when it was diagnosed post starting the insured period. I literally paid thousands of $$ in premiums for nothing! And that was after submitting the claim multiple times as they were constantly asking for additional information from the vet. This was obviously a delaying tactic to find a way to deny the claim. Complete scam!”

“It actually would be 5 stars for their service, plans, quick payment, and easiblity to submit claims. I had been really happy with Pets Best!! Reason it is a 2 stars is that the premiums increased by $200 every year. I have now canceled the insurance since they want to charge over $740 (another $200 increase from year before). I understand somewhat of an increase but $200?? I called multiple times waiting on hold for 30 min or more, to be disconnected, droped when possibly transferring me (after holding for another 10 min), and finally to be told there is nothing they can do. I considered changing deductible and/or co insurance but it didn't come down much. I did a new quote online to see what would be quoted and it was what I paid for the last year. Asked why I couldn't get that price, they said they can't change the price. I would have to cancel the plan and buy a new one -- but then they wouldn't pay any pre existing. I just canceled the policy and went elsewhere. So disappointed with Pet Best after having such great experience working with them.”

“They are quick to review claims and submit reimbursements if need be. I've been with them for about three years and suddenly for 2026 my premium was increased almost $400! Reached out to them and no response. With only 1 claim / year (and not a very expensive one), I would not expect the premium to go up this much. Had it gone up just a tiny bit/expected amount (maybe $50/year) I would have given them 5 stars. But this really leaves a sour taste in my mouth.”

“I am so pleased with Pets Best. Employees are so polite and helpful when I call. They seem to have extensive knowledge about the claims process and coverage questions. All my claims have been processed with ease and I’m always reimbursed for claims promptly. I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience at Pets vest.”

“My claims have been handled quickly and the explanations are easy to understand. The EOB's tell the full story. I am so pleased with this insurance company. They are professional, yet friendly and are prompt in responding to questions. I have a dog with hip dysplasia (the breeder obviously didn't check her dogs before breeding them) and the company has been great about taking care of her meds and her yearly checkups. I can recommend Pets Best without reservation.”

“Took almost a month to reimburse my claim where I had included all information about the visit and all vet records. Once it was approved, there wasn't any fighting but it's pretty unreasonable to take a whole month when all info is already rpovided.”

“Absolutely horrible turnaround time on payments. Will fight every single claim to try and not pay. The way the charge for the deductible and copay should be illegal. You’re essentially being charged twice for the same funds.”
