Claims take a minimum of 45 days to process, and customer support is abysmal.

Wow. This is the worst insurance experience I’ve ever had. From enrolling-it was a nightmare and took several calls to get the correct pets/plans to the claim process which takes entirely too long. If you can’t process my claim within a calendar month, do not ask me for next months payment until you finish your part. If you can’t process a simple claim within 30 days-you need to hire more people. Can’t find more people-thats a sign you need to pay your employees more. I can’t wait to leave this insurance plan at the end of the year bc it’s a living nightmare.

I am very dissatisfied with the slow claims response. I turned in a claim from August 10, 2021 and have yet to receive a dime in reimbursement or an acknowledgement that there will be a reimbursement. But the company was lickity split at talking my annual premium of almost $800.

Very disappointed with the customer service. Claims shouldn't take 1/3 of a fiscal quarter to be processed. Reaching someone on the phone is next to impossible. Pets best has failed at every turn to provide adequate resources to support customers. I'll go out of my way to encourage every pet owner I see to stay far away from Pets best.

Beware premium shot up to over $4,700 a year, they only reimburse a maximum of $5,000 a year so what’s really the point to pay all that money? Wellness coverage is not great they cover about 1/3 of the bill same with prescriptions. Obviously we canceled the policy at that price. When we started (dog was 3months old) we paid $600 a year now at age 7 of our Bullmastiff it’s over $4,700.

I could not be less pleased. I filed an $825 claim for my dog's dental cleaning (which is supposed to be covered) and a dental extraction of an accidental broken tooth (which was also supposed to be covered) and I was denied all but $190 back because my pet isn't covered for "periodontal disease" which has nothing to do with the claim I filed. After an appeal, they reimbursed me another $309 totaling a measly 60% of my vet bill.

Horrible! Very long wait times. Over a month and a half to be reimbursed. When you sign up they make it seem like it’s only days

NOT Satisfied. I pay $1,800 a year for insurance and barely get back +/- $200 in benefits. Probably going to leave Pets Best :-(

Since their influx of new members they can’t keep their word with the turnaround time on claims. It went from 15 days to, up to 45 days the respond on claims. Sad😤

Honestly the ease of submitting a claim is amazing and their app is well designed but the turnaround time is terrible on average it takes around a month or more so you can't even really put it on a credit card you really are fronting it all yourself and then waiting a long while to get anything back. If this didn't work as automatic withdrawal from my employment I wouldn't use this company.

Turned in over $6000.00 in veterinary bills and they paid me back a whole $164 and rejected the rest. So my opinion of this insurance is that it sucks

Hi Jerry, we are happy to clarify. The total vet bill you submitted for this date of service was for $257.18, your copay of 10% was taken out and then the remaining deductible of $67.36 fora total reimbursement of $164.10. Please let us know if we are missing a significant amount of invoices which add up to the said $6000.00. If you are referring to the cruciate ligament injury, this condition does not qualify for coverage as it originated before the end of the waiting period. Have a good day!

Very slow in regards to turn around time to get your money back for medical expenses at the vet. I switched to nationwide and get my money put into my account within three day.

Pets Best promises to deliver when you sign up. But they fall far short when it actually comes to reimbursements. It seems like every claim gets denied nowadays. And quitting is not an option with a 12 year old pet. Deeply disappointed with the company.

Hi, claims are only denied when they do not qualify for coverage and this is determined in large part with medical records from your veterinarian. If you disagree, we recommend you speak with them directly and you have the option to file an appeal with supporting documents.

I was never reimbursed for services I've paid for on my tier of pet insurance. It took the company over the allotted 4 weeks to return my messages and I still haven't received payment.

So far I am not impressed. My first claim has been anything but smooth. It was finally processed after resending the paperwork and you left one of the items off. A 54 dollar item shows as zero dollars on the claim statement I received. How do we fix this? I replied to the email and have not heard back.

Hi, if you sent an email we ask that you allow 24-48 business hours for a response. Otherwise, we recommend you contact customer care by phone so they can send your claim over to be reviewed or provide information on how the claim was processed.
