The Wellness plan is a complete waste of money and the last two times we have needed the illness coverage the plan paid minimally for the “covered” services. We would probably be better off saving the money for the premiums to pay the bills out of pocket.

Hi Elisa, please elaborate on what you mean. We reimburse you based on the policy you enroll in. If you feel the plan you chose is not comprehensive enough, you are welcome to cancel and start a new policy with higher coverage.

Will be canceling. Claims take too long to process and continue to ask for information already submitted. Too much of a hassle.

Never have I gotten my claim returned in under 30 days. Some people are t as fortunate to have hundred of dollars on hold for 30+ days waiting to get refunded. Upon renewal of my policy for my dog that I’ve had with this company for over 5 years and they want to raise the monthly premium an addition $140 quarterly is just shady as hell. Definitely do not and will never recommend this company.

I am so sorry I went with this company for pet insurance. The claims take too long to be reviewed, it is difficult to reach the company by phone, and thus far the payment for claims is not appearing to a discount. I now have a dog that may have pre existing conditions for other health insurance and am stuck. Extremely disappointed.

2 month for for $30 reimbursement of $250. this was a 4 month puppy getting routine shots. Policy 100% lie beware

Incredibly long response times to claims + massive amounts of "fine print" in the contract = very little return for my $130/month spend. I'm evaluating other options...

horrendous, absolutely horrible. I currently hold two pet policies, PB and trupanion (i opted to keep the trupanion because it came from the breeder and i wanted to decide which i prefer before cancelling the other). I will admit that PB has gotten more transparent about how long the processing will take; however, it's inexcusable that any claim (save maybe a wellness...) should take longer than 30 days to process. I'm stuck in limbo waiting to see what service i want to keep, as my dog now has prexisting conditions and i've opted to only submit the recent things to PB but i think once my claims are done, we can go our separate ways. The direct pay is misleading, and only really a "courtesy" agreement between you and your vet. I doubt any vet would even consider it if they know of the super delayed processing time. I'm still waiting on two of my injury claims to be reviewed and they say "waiting on vet info" despite ALL of the vet notes being attached with the itemized receipt. I truly hope they get people, trained, and can retain them because they used to have such a good reputation. We're working people just like the employees there, but the point of having pet insurance is so that we don't have to eat a giant cost. Most of us probably threw the expense on a CC or borrowed from savings etc to pay the cost the first time.... and it's blatantly disrespectful that we're paying for a service that doesn't give timely claims processing.... The only good thing i've noticed so far is that when a claim is finally processed and the payment is issued, they're relatively quick on that part (if you have direct deposit set up... i cant speak on other methods).

Hi Garret, correct, we cannot make the vet take insurance. Vets typically require payment up front at the time of service, so all pet insurance companies offer reimbursement insurance which means you pay in full and then submit your claim for reimbursement via check or free direct deposit. However, in some cases vets are willing to work with long term clients and accept their insurance. In these cases, we can pay the vet directly but its at their discretion. We do not have a network of vets. You may go to any licensed vet anywhere in the US and Canada.

Our policy increased in price by 16% during Covid, even though I was informed that the company was growing and hiring more than ever due to increase in pet adoptions. The only time you can get someone on the phone for any sort of assistance is to cancel your policy. Claims take over two months minimum to get answered with endless “sorry for the delay emails”. For the price of over $67/month!! they don’t cover anything after deductibles. Please do your homework before you sign up and If you truly love your pet, PLEASE find a different pet insurance company. With PetsBest you’re simply throwing your money away. No one will help you past the point of entry.

Yes, prices will tend to go up as your pet ages. Much like in human health care, an older person is going to be more expensive to insure than a younger one. Similarly, a pet's chances of becoming ill will increase as they age. The insurance premiums are designed to reflect this increased risk of illness. Rates are based on pet's age, breed, and cost of veterinary care in your area. You'll be happy to know that prices do not go up because of your pet's personal claims filing activity. We notify you 40 days prior to renewal to let you know what to expect and renewal is 12 months from your enrollment date. Rates increase on average by 5-15% with each renewal regardless of the pandemic. You can downgrade to reduce your rates.

They were quick in processing the claim but I haven't received the payment from them yet. I am expecting direct deposit to my bank and it isn't there.

I received $9 for a claim not knowing that I had reached the max: it would be helpful for representative to not only know, but relay this info in advance.

This is the absolute worst pet insurance anyone could choose for their pets. On a $400 bill, they only covered $80 only for medications even with the second-best coverage. This is so frustrating. I would not recommend this insurance to anyone with a pet that they love.
