I am frustrated with the amount of time it takes for claims to be processed and I don’t get calls or emails when more info is needed from my vet and the claim is just denied. I actually plan to cancel my policy because it seems that I have no communication coming my way and things just get denied without making me aware to try and get info from my vet too

Not happy at all with the experience and have canceled my policy. Unless you buy insurance the minutes after he is born they will consider any claim as pre existing as in my case. My dog had an ear infection and denied claim based on he had an ear infection 1 year previously before I purchased plan so this is not covered. I have paid out more money for this insurance I could have just paid all the vet bills without insurance. Ridiculous

In general, I would not recommend Pets Best. They take about one month to process a claim, and once the claim is processed, they interpret your claim to ensure that they only have to pay a minimum amount. We are paying for the highest dollar plan, with the additional well-being plan. We just got a puppy and knew that we did not want to worry about his health. If I were to break down the numbers, I would imagine the plan has covered about 20-25% of what we have expended so far. One caveat. If your vet only accepts Pets Best then it may be a viable option because that would reduce claim times. In addition, people say that pet insurance is most valuable when dealing with an emergency. That being said, we are going to look elsewhere after this year.

Absolutely a joke. Never answer the phone. Paying top dollar and they have denied everything. Don't do it!!!!!! Really. I'm not some angry disgruntled customer. It's really not helpful at all.

It takes more than 1 month for a claim, and once there, they don’t refund you with a different excuse every time

It took a full month just to process my claim. Now im waiting on my reimbursement. Very poor turn around time compared to other pet insurances.

I’ve submitted a claim, haven’t heard anything other than it’ll take longer because they are short staffed. Tried calling and couldn’t speak to anyone about the delay. Very unhappy and debating on leaving the company and finding more responsive insurance.

This insurance can be a lot better. The reimbursement process at times makes no sense. I barely use this insurance because I have no hope in getting any money back for the services that I seek for my pet.

Absolutely the WORST insurance I have come across. Took months to let me know that NOTHING was covered from my kittens first vet visit. He was constipated with ear mites. Am I really supposed to wait 2 weeks for the insurance to kick in and in order for the insurance to cover? Ridiculous. On top of that, I have been trying to cancel the monthly payments, yet no one wants to reach back to Me. But oh are they quick to take your money. DO NOT GET THIS INSRUANCE IF YOU REALLY CARE ABOUT YOUR PET.

Hi, no you are not. You are supposed to pay for those issues out of pocket. We have waiting periods that are very clearly outlined on our website, the quote page, and the policy documents after enrollment. We will not cover anything that happens prior to the end of the waiting periods even if you wait to take the pet in. We hope your cat is doing better.

The customer representatives are very pleasant and helpful. But the insurance company was very unreasonable and not trust worthy. I was suppose to get my reimbursements and after over 2 months of waiting for claims, I got denied for my dog's illness that she has never had as a pre-existing condition. The insurance is trying to link my dog's dental disease symptom (ONLY ONE SYMPTOM) with Lymphoma as "pre-existing" symptoms which is very unreasonable and vague. Now, they are just waiting to delay time for appeals and deny to reimburse for my dog's Lymphoma treatments so after I exhaust my finance, my dog would have no choice but to die from this aggressive cancer with no options for treatment. I was hoping to have a pleasant experience with this insurance.

Hi, claims are processed based on medical records we receive from your vet. If you disagree with the claim decision, we recommend speaking with your vet regarding the medical history and filing an appeal with supporting documents. Have a good day.

Just found out that because I took my dog in for her wellness 3 days early (when I get a card from my vet saying it is time for annual checkup) they didn’t pay for this wellness visit. Three days too soon, I took her on 5/26 and my policy renews on 5/29. I will be cancelling the policy for both of my dogs and finding a more reputable company.

Hi, you are correct. Benefits with insurance whether its for your pet, your car, or yourself do not become effective early. There are very strict rules when it comes to insurance. Have a good day!

Submitted several invoices/claims for my dogs broken foot. It wasn't until I noticed the claims were paid that Pet Best did not contact me to let me know that the original claim for the break "they couldn't read" so I had to resubmit 5 weeks later. Complete failure on the companies part. It makes me question whether I remain a client of look elsewhere!

You should get more money back on well visits then you do. I spent 400$ At the vet and only got back 40$ when I spend 60$ a month on insurance.

Hi, wellness coverage is optional. Insurance is meant to help you with the unexpected, broken bones, urinary blockages or cancer. Wellness is not insurance, its a benefit meant to help you offset the cost of what you would be spending whether you have insurance or not, so its not going to pay your full bill for these wellness visits.

Takes WAY too long to get EOB's back. You need to hire more people in customer support. Also, I pay 77$ a month for nothing to be covered, no prescription, or wellness checkups nothing. It's kind of BS. I'm switching to another ins.
