Because allergies have so many symptoms - claimed that when I took my cat to vet for ear infection prior to my purchase of the insurance, they identified allergies as a pre-existing condition and wouldn’t cover costs associated with allergies post the insurance. Would never get pets best again.

It is impossible to get through to your customer service department. I was on hold for TWO hours! I had to go to work so nothing was accomplished! Could someone please call me at 917 7478586. Thank you.

For what you pay monthly, there is not enough coverage and it seems to me that you’re not covered enough for what they say you are! I’m not happy at all!

Hi Brian, you actually are the one who selects the type of coverage you want to carry on your pet upon enrollment. We offer several plan options from low to high coverage and also offer add on plans to supplement your plan for wellness care. I am very unhappy with the policy terminology for the BestWellness add on. It said it was available immediately when I signed up. I signed up on Feb 2 and had my puppy’s first visit later that day. When I tried to file the claim, I was told that effective date was Feb 3. Seriously? After saying immediately, it was really a 1 day waiting period, which was not evident upon sign up. When I called I was told they could not do anything. Too bad, because if something had been done, I would not be writing this poor review. How about a little common sense instead and customer service instead or to the letter rule following?

I have had this 3 years. I finally submitted for the vaccines and sick visit and I received an email that is not covered. So they lie and not worth it.

I didn’t get a full or 90% reimbursement on the flea treatment for my dog when I pay the highest premium (I only got like 30%). Then my wellness vet visit is still pending. When I called to try to change the dog’s name, nobody picked up the phone call even after 1.5 hours. (I ended up hanging up). There’s no email address for customer service nor telephone or live chat. Hence, I don’t know how customers are suppose to reach you.

The worst. Don’t ever expect to get a anything back regarding claims. They go unanswered. Don’t choose PetsBest!!!!

Covid seemed to have really undone Pets Best. Claims submitted took many weeks, even months to be processed. Reaching out by phone to Pets Best was almost impossible. Wait times exceeded one hour! I have already confirmed insurance for my new pup with Spot and once Karma come up for renewal, I'll be transferring her as well.

Took a 2 months to get an answer about reimbursement. When I finally canceled they finally gave an answer lol said I couldn’t be refunded Bc her urinalysis, deworming, Reg check up wasn’t covered. Waste of time and money

Extremely disappointed in my experience with this company. I was a client for six months. I filed two claims. I heard nothing from them for MONTHS before getting an email that the claims were denied because my vet didn't send my pet's medical history. After I confirmed with my vet that they did send over my pet's records, I reached out to Pets Best. It took them nearly TWO WEEKS to get back to me, at which point they said they needed records going back further than I even had the dog (he was a rescue). I promptly canceled my policy, and wish I had done so a long time ago.

Hi Kelsey, we are sorry to hear of your frustrating experience. Policies active for less than 1 year will require some if not all medical record history on your pet. We hope you find the company that is right for you.

I already cancelled my policy after about 6 months. TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE service. I pay for the Wellness plan in addition to my policy, and when my dog went for a WELLNESS visit, they applied it towards my deductible instead of reimbursing me, because they saw 2 medications on the invoice, which they didn't even check with the Vet on. The meds are due to the fact that my dog will not allow anyone to touch his paws to trim his nails. So they need to give him the pills for his FUTURE appointments to help reduce the stress. Pets Best claims that because he had meds listed on his invoice, he is "sick." Well, he isn't sick. He may have some issues due to being a rescue and being abused by his former owner, but he most certainly is not sick at all. He is actually quite healthy! So, I am now with Nationwide and am paying less for a much better policy. Pets Best is Pets Worst! Just as bad as Trupanion and I wish I would have read the Yelp reviews before signing up with them. ZERO STARS!!

Horrible experience with customer service today! I needed to just submit a new copy of the receipt from the Vets office. The representative assured me that he’d fix it so I could. INSTEAD he deleted the entire claim AND I had to reissue it with today’s date which meant starting over!

Hi Staci, we are sorry to hear of this experience. For future reference, an already submitted claim cannot be edited without closing out. Please submit additional information via email to claims@petsbest.com or by creating a new claim in addition so your claim processing time is not reset. PetsBest is great for smaller claims but their getting larger claims processed is an uphill, tooth-pulling battle. I've been trying to get a claim processed for an October vet visit that included X-rays so it came up to over $400. That claim still hasn't been resolved and I've had to contact them well over 4 times about it and resubmit the claim twice. Each time I;m assured they "have all of the docs", they'll "make a note on the file" but then they let it time out for one reason or another without ever letting me know what the potential problem is unless I reach out first. Calling right now makes no sense because I've been on hold for over a half hour all three times I've called. It's starting to feel like they're looking for a way to scam me out of my reimbursement for this larger claim or mess around with it long enough that the claim timeframe expires. It's really concerning and I'm not confident that any larger claims I submit in the future will be handled properly. Take from this situation what you will.

I don’t think paying $69 dollars a month is fair for what to give back, honestly. I’ll just cancel this insurance.

Wellness is not insurance, its a benefit meant to help you offset the cost of what you would be spending whether you have insurance or not, so its not going to pay your full bill for these wellness visits.
