My vet sent records but we were still told you did not have our records!! After waiting on hold for over an hour you finally “found” the records. I will be telling friends and family to NOT buy insurance for Pers Best because you are the worst!!!

Hi Robyn, thank you for your review. We hope your claim was processed in your favor.

I have been a customer with Pet's Best since 2009. Both dogs were insured for the highest care at the highest premium. One claim was denied because while at the vet for a new issue I just happened to mention a previous issue that was doing well so the vet had feedback not asking her to examine an old issue. My claim was refused payment on the basis of an a previous issue even though it was never addressed and did not even need it. That to me is dishonest. I was honest. They Pet's Best wiggled out of payment. Same thing next time so I was wise as to not talk about anything that was a pre-existing issue even though it was NOT being treated. Even then I got only 15.00 back on the visit that cost over 100.00. Again they wiggled out of what they advertise. My dog Molly became unable to walk suddenly for no apparent reason. My vet told me to take her to the Emergency Hospital immediately. Now this vet also used to work there as an emergency vet so wouldn't you think he knew what he was advising me to do? She was there 3 days with IV's and very ill. Pet's Best would not pay one cent!!!! They claimed there was noting wrong with my dog. Really? Then why was my dog kept 3 days and put on 3 strong antibiotics? A year later same thing again. She suddenly could not walk and again same scenario ER and IV for 24 hrs. No claim was paid. Pets Best said it wasn't an emergency even though my vet said it was. Who's the doctor? Few weeks ago my other dog took out her own stitches after 12 days of not bothering them and opened up her surgery on her paw. 3:00am we were in ER. I told the ER they probably would not pay and they said,"who brings their dog in to ER at 3 am if it is not an emergency?" this time they 159.00 paid after a 250.00 deductible and a co-pay. The bill was 455.00. When did co-pays come into emergency fees? Since I have kept insurance faithfully for many years on 4 dogs this visit was paid for many times over in premiums through the years. Pet insurance has become a racket. On this dog alone I paid about 800.00 in 7 years and got back 159.00. May God almighty have mercy on their souls when their day of judgement comes. This customer has been totally honest as well as my vets but I can't say this for Pet's Best, who asked me for this feed back.

Your policy is for accidents only, your claims are for sickness and will not be covered under an accident only plan. have a good day.

When I sent my claim in I included his complete medical history from his Veterinarian. But still I received an email saying you were waiting on info from his Vet. Also I was on the phone to customer service for 3 hours and no one ever answered the phone.

Hi Stephen, looks like your claims were processed. We hope your pet is doing well.

I am very confused if why i have a $250 deductible, why i only got $140 back on my recent claim. and also why it took so long to be completed. i have been a long time customer and i am just confused why this has taken so long since i chose you guys in the first place due to the turn around time on claims. yet over the past year it has been slow and doesn't really make sense to me.

Hi Megan, you also have a copay to meet with your claims, we dont cover 100% of your bill and your chosen copay is 20%. Therefore, your total claim was $488.11 - 20% copay = $390.49 - $250 annual deductible comes to $140.49 in reimbursement. We hope this helps explain how a claim is processed.

Hi Anthony, your large claim reimbursement was issued via direct deposit on 12/31/20 in the amount of $566.00. Please check with your bank and allow 7-10 days for your bank to post. Have a good day.

You guys are worthless! If you don’t start approving any of my claims, I will be canceling both of my dogs insurance. I’ve been very disappointed so far!

READ YOUR POLICY. Insurance is a scam. They hook you with lower prices and empty promises. I put insurance on my dog when she was 3 months old. Fast forward to 3 months later, my 6 month old puppy tore her cruciate ligament. I was fully aware of the injury and illness waiting period and fully expected her injury to fall under injury coverage I had purchased. It was specifically spelled out on my Policy Application under "Your Pets Coverage Begins: Illness: 14 days [...], Accident: 3 days [...]." After waiting 42 days for them to process my claim, it was rejected. That's when I found out about the 6 month waiting period for cruciate tears. After calling customer service it was described to me as "an anomaly" that she even tore her cruciate at 6 months of age. Despite it being an anomaly, it can not/will not be covered because it happened before my waiting period. I argued although I haven't held the policy for 6 months it should be covered based on the fact that I was a responsible pet owner and purchased insurance as soon as I could for her. That wasn't enough. Despite my efforts to work with PetsBest they rejected coverage because the injury occurred before my waiting period was up. Footing me with a $5,000 surgery scheduled for the 28th and my monthly insurance payments that have not caused me any sort financial relief. If they cared about pets and prided themselves on their coverage they would have a heart to work with me and make things right in this rather unusual and rare situation. With that being said, I can NOT recommend purchasing a policy from them. I have done some more research and came to the conclusion "Pumpkin" is a better option. They are more expensive, but from what I have seen all of their waiting periods are shorter and they have less excluded items.

Hi Brooke, as we have advised several times on different platforms, you are told what the waiting period is prior to enrollment on your quote form, on our website, and the policy documents you receive right after you enroll for your review. You are correct, you should read what you are enrolling in prior to enrollment and review the documents companies provide to avoid confusion or misunderstanding. We did our due diligence in providing all the information for you. We are sorry to hear you did not review the documents. We are not a scam, we are in fact a licensed company by your state's department of insurance and continue to hold an A+ rating with the BBB over the last 15 years. We wish you the best.

Very Poor in so many ways. Adopted young dog, took him to Vet in Sept. Still no payment...they refused to read bill, or call the Vet. Vet just sent in bill, we faxed it, they denied it saying they could not read, I did not pay bill and so on.... Vet Faxed copy of bill again this week, and same day I get that my spouse better get the bill in. Very bad I am filing complaints, and will talk to Media. They do not know how to work with Vets or Owners of Animals. Very bad Pet Insurance or people who work for...they cannot read or do simple Math?

Hi Michelle, your claim is missing proof of payment. We cannot process an invoice without showing the amount on the invoice was paid in full to your vet. Please provide this information so we can finish processing your claim.

I have to fight with Pets Best every time I file a claim to get them to cover anything. I have a payment plan with my vet's office for wellness items and Pets Best refuses to cover anything on the payment plan because they say it's "insurance", regardless of the number of times I AND my vet's office have told them otherwise.

Hi Angie, wellness plans with your vet need to be paid in full and itemized when services have been rendered. Our policies have guidelines and procedures that must be followed on every claim. We are sorry to hear you are dissatisfied.

Poor customer service, and poor service all around. Make sure to read fully into this before making a decision, virtually nothing is covered and at the end of the day you’re wasting your money.

Hi Allison, our policies are going to cover anything that is new to the policy at unlimited coverage. Unless your pet had a prior issue when you enrolled, the plan is very comprehensive. We recommend you speak with our customer care team to evaluate the plan you have for your pet.

Would be better insurance if they paid more. Will not pay for alot of my pets annual supply of Heartworm preventive medication.

Hi Altan, we cover a lot of issues, anything that can go wrong with your pet as long as said issue originated after and not before the policy. Your pets plan selected by you has a per incident lifetime limit of $2,500. You have maxed this benefit on the condition you are trying to claim. Unfortunately, once you max out an incident it will no longer be covered. We hope Elvis is doing well.

I got insurance then when I submitted my claim learned it wasn’t effective until 14 days later so I didn’t get all my money back. Also the call center is ridiculous aside from the long wait times they give false information. They also didn’t have a manager AVALIBLE just horrible and 20-30 day wait times to get reimbursement

Hi, we covered all of your wellness visits. The claims that were not covered were for issues that happened prior to coverage. If you disagree with the claim decision, you are welcome to file an appeal with supporting documents. Let us know if this is something you would like to pursue.

Pet’s Best have declined both pets every claim. The form and invoice is not enough. They harass the vet because they do not want to pay me

Hi Cynthia, We have paid over $4000 in claims for your pets. We need an invoice for us to process claims just like you've been doing for the last 4 years. Additionally, we do not harass the vet. We contact the vet on your behalf to request medical records when needed on an actual itemized invoice. The claim you filed for Charlie girl is missing said invoice. You are welcome to contact your vet and request this for us to process your claim.

I will probably be canceling this service it would be cheaper to just pay the vet straight out instead of being denied it’s not worth the amount of money you pay for it human health ins is cheaper than this junk and takes almost 2 months to find the results
