WORST PET INSURANCE EVER! They will claim everything is a "pre-existing condition". Don't waste your time/money with these idiots.

Denied legitimate claims with fake excuses. My puppy was 7 weeks old when subscription begin, they have the audacity to claim pre existing conditions. Paying the maximum for full coverage. DO NOT give petsBest opportunity to steal from you. I canceled this bogus insurance by email, impossible to reach them by phone.

Hi Rita, we understand your concern. We are an insurance company accredited by your states department of insurance and the BBB. We cannot deny a claim for pre-existing without existential proof of this decision. Your veterinarian provided their medical records indicating your pet was seen for this issue just 3 days after enrollment. Your policy is not in effect for 14 days and therefore, deeming this pre-existing to any insurance company. Your policy is for future issues that originate once the policy is in effect. If you are unhappy you are welcome to cancel your policy without penalties. Have a good day.

I would choose another company, as it takes 2 hours on hold to speak with a customer service representative and has taken over a month to process my very simple claim, & I have still not been reimbursed. I wish I would have gone with Nationwide or any other company that takes their customers more seriously.

Hi Chad, we understand your concern. Most companies are experiencing long hold times during this time. We are working on reducing the time it takes to speak to a representative. We appreciate your feedback. Keep in mind, you are not locked into a contract. They are virtually impossible to reach. I called 4 times and was on hold each time. The last time I was on hold for an hour and twenty minutes before I spoke with someone. I wanted status of two claims I submitted but the person basically told me to access the app to get that info. On one claim they reached out to the vet for additional info but on the other claim which was at the emergency vet they stated that the diagnosis was undetermined and that I would have to get additional info and resubmit. They are expensive and not worth the time or money. I cancelled my policy today. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT purchase this insurance.

HI Shawn, we are sorry to hear you had a negative experience. We are currently experiencing high call volume. We do advise to refer to the portal to avoid long hold time. You dont need to call in to get status of your claim and hold for so long, we will contact you if any information is needed and when the claim is done processing.

It takes almost a month to get a claim processed. I have a few other claims I don’t even want to submit I’d rather go to another company!

Hi, we understand your concern. We are working on quicker claim processing time and currently medical claims can take 25-39 days to process. However, please dont let this discourage you from filing your claims and seeking reimbursement. We appreciate your patience.

They seem to find a loop hole to get out of every claim. I feel like I am getting my money worth when every claim is denied. Typical insurance company you cant trust which feels terrible when it is for a beloved pet and family member.

Hi Ashleigh, your claims have been paid in your favor except for the issues that originated prior to the policy per your vet records. You are welcome to file an appeal.

My claim was only partial i submitted a 400dlls detail invoice and i got 25 dlls back ??

Hi Jorge, claims are processed based on the policy you enrolled in. Your claim is not done processing. Please allow for all invoices to process in order to have the correct information regarding the claim decision. We will email you the explanation of benefits once this is done.

You charged us a 20% deductible on the entire amount and we paid 500.00deductible.Keep the 2.00, you need it more than us.

HI Darlene, you selected this policy when you enrolled and selected 80% coverage, this means you have a 20% copay. You're welcome to look over more comprehensive coverage options if you would like.

So far so bad. First claim submission denied. Second claim submission required some other steps. My other 2 animal submissions still haven’t heard. If they don’t improve I will be canceling. Waste of money.

I switched from Nationwide to Pets Best because it was less money. Now I know why. They ding every, single item on a bill with a co-pay. Medicine that was $51; they charged me with a $10.20 co-pay. Second medicine $73.50, $14.70 co-pay. Sedation $77; $16 co-pay. And on, and on down the bill. They charged $63.50 in co-pays. After my deductible, I got $4 back. They have lost a client.

Processing time is outrageously long, i have a pretty expensive policy considering the age and size of my dog. I just received a refund for less then half of what i spent. I’m being asked to provide an itemized invoice for injection when the whole appointment was about giving my dog her yearly vaccination (3 shots total and $ 52 not covered). If i take an insurance its to save money and time and at this point its not what is happening with pets best. My first claim was simply no reimbursed for some odd reasons. It’s impossible to tal to someone over the phone. I’m seriously considering going to competition after less than a year if things are not handled in a timely and more effective manner.

Well, I was rather pleased in the beginning of this insurance policy when many of the initial vet visits were covered. However, ever since then, and perhaps this is my fault I suppose, it seems that very little is covered. So at this point, I'm really just paying for catastrophic coverage. Nothing else seems to be within the narrow guidelines. Having said all that, Pets Best is very quick with their processing and denials so that's a plus. At least I'm not waiting and hoping for too long only to be amazingly disappointed. Again, perhaps some due diligence would have been the better part of prudence here, but I find that I am overall disillusioned. Will likely cancel as soon as I can.

Pets best is more like pets worst. Literally every claim is denied the first time for something unrelated (knee injection denied for special diet. It’s an injection in the knee. Not food). Watch them closely because they’ll try and screw you out of claim refunds. Claims take forever to process. I’d rate zero stars if I could.

i feel this company has gone down hill. i have been with them for many years and 4 animals. recently, right before my 14 year old Golden died, thye denied a claim of over $2000 even ater appeal. the Vet wrote a letter demonstrating how the procefure/surgery was covered, and they manipulated the claim to deny it. NO transparency, honestly , good faith or customer loyalty .

So, my review is not positive! One thing I’ve come to understand about this company is that they’re just like human medical insurance companies, they constantly look for a reason to reject the claim and not pay. My plan is to cancel them in the near future and go back to nationwide because it was more expensive but they paid.

I referred Marti Sullivan to sign up . I never received my Amazon gift card. Also when you call the customer service no one ever answers. Marti called customer service and the phone rang for a whole hour. No one picked up Also I was surprised that you did not pay for the Trazadone when lucky got neutered. Also on Monday Lucky got another prescription and was at the vet office . I never have heard anything about the claim. I thought Pet Best covered prescription. I would like to refer Pet Best to my friends .But Marti Sullivan is not happy and I'm not either
