I’m not very pleased with the reimbursements taking so long. I’ve had this insurance a little over a year & am considering cancelling due to the extensive delays I’m encountering.

Having seconds thoughts with this company. Phone service is poor. Waited one hour, still no one picked up. They claim because of Covid staff is short. Submitted a claim over a month ago, received nothing again they blame staff shortage. Too many excuses

The claims system is incredibly slow right now. It’s ridiculous. I fronted a lot of medical expenses for my dog and the last I checked they said their turnover is a month?! Ridiculous

Pets Best Insurance for dogs is the Worst! They take you monthly payment every month, yearly increase the Premium. Yet when it comes to reimbursement it takes them over a month! I would not Recommend this policy at all. Look fir something more reliable. I have had it for my dog for (4 yrs) time to move on to a better insurance 🤯

Hi Lucila, Yes, prices will tend to go up as your pet ages. Much like in human health care, an older person is going to be more expensive to insure than a younger one. Similarly, a pet's chances of becoming ill will increase as they age. The insurance premiums are designed to reflect this increased risk of illness. Rates are based on pet's age, breed, and cost of veterinary care in your area. You'll be happy to know that prices do not go up because of your pet's personal claims filing activity. We notify you 40 days prior to renewal to let you know what to expect and renewal is 12 months from your enrollment date. If you are interested in lower rates, please contact us directly.

Takes forever to get claims processed. You pay extra for wellness coverage and they don't pay for anything they say they will. I wouldn't trust this company to insure a hamster properly.

I switched to PetsBest (From Nationwide) because I got offered a better deal. However, the time it has taken to get a decision from the claim I submitted was ridiculous. It was over 35 days. In Nationwide it was about 2 weeks or less. I am considering switching back because this service has truly been terrible. And the wait for customer service (via chat and phone) is over 30mins. While the rep answered my inquiry, it took very long to reach him.

Hi Kyle, your wellness claim was paid in your favor. The only claim not paid out was the issue you filed that originated before you had a policy with us. Insurance is not meant to cover issues that pre-date the policy.

I tried several times to call customer service some months ago about a claim and no one ever answered. You claimed I hadn’t paid a bill for my dogs visit to the vet even though the bill showed paid, you still denied it. I forwarded a note from the vet saying it was paid, still no answer from you . I finally mailed you everything I had on the claim and a couple of months later you said you’d finally paid the claim. As of yesterday I still don’t have the funds in my account. I’m hoping this is not going to take months. By the way during this you raised my premium to $159 a month. Now you know why I’m not happy with your company.

They are horrible with claims and customer service! I pay faithfully every month with no problem. I have processed claims for an accident that required follow up treatments and testing. They processed a claim for testing and determined it was wellness and denied it. They never linked it to the original claim to determine it was treatments for the accident. I had to call them to dispute it. Now its under investigation because of their mistake and it will take 1-2 months. Ironically that was processed first when the original claim still has NOT been processed. I have been fighting them this whole time and they don't even show any sympathy for my dogs situation or the fact that they are working claims incorrectly and do not follow through quickly for their own error. I am now shopping around for new pet insurance. I am very disappointed.

I feel that I wasted money for the past year on this pet insurance. I would have been better off putting the money aside in a savings account to use towards my dogs medical expenses. Maybe in some cases this is worth it, but with a $500.00 deductible and they didn’t even cover anesthesia for a procedure, it has been a waste.

Hi Adriane, we do cover anesthesia for covered issues. The deductible is something you select when you enroll. If you would like a lower deductible you are welcome to switch to a more comprehensive policy. Thank you for your review!

Impossible to reach anyone by phone or message. Emails go unanswered for over a week. Every single claim has taken far longer than promised. Each time with an email excuse “at this time...” I don’t buy it. You’ve had over a year to hire people?? I feel stuck because rates are cheapest which you start with a puppy so transferring to another company would be costly.

I do not know if I should keep the insurance. Every time I do a claim there is always some crazy wording and my claim is denied.
