We switched to Pets Best for a few years ago after our old pet insurance went dramatically up in price, not because we ever made a claim, but because our dog was aging. Our dog is now 11 years old and was just diagnosed with cancer 😢. As one would expect, just getting to this diagnosis is expensive. The claim for her cancer diagnosis was the first time in 11 years that we actually sent in a claim. I'm happy to report Pers Best did exactly what they said they would. They paid the percentage of services promised. To me this is what's most important, however there are a couple of things to note. First, I tried several times to reach someone by phone and chat to ask questions but never got through. This made me very anxious. Reading online, I discovered that PB had some tech problems in October, clearly that spilled over to November and beyond because I couldn't get a response. Second, it took nearly two months for payment. What made this okay was that I'd get regular emails letting me know they hadn't forgotten about my claim. This was very helpful since I couldn't talk to a real person. Overall, I would recommend Pets Best but I'd want pet owners to know that they might not be able talk to someone. They are true to their word, but you must be willing to be patient. You must be organized and have all your paperwork or you will delay the process indefinitely.

We have been with Pets Best for about 7 years. At first we loved them, the price was reasonable and the claim process was easy and fast. Now, our premium is super expensive, it goes up roughly $50-100 every year, takes them forever to process our claims and it’s at least 40 mins or more on hold to speak to a representative. Unfortunately we are stuck with them. Going to a different pet insurance isn’t an option for us due to “preexisting conditions”.

I have always been a huge fan. But lately they are slower on payments these days and their app no longer works. I have pointed this out to customer service but hasn’t worked in over a year.

They have really improved their time to reimbursement since we started 6 years ago. Customer service is nice. It was a big shock to get a 50% increase this year in premiums. I did not want to change our coverage, so we had to really up our deductible to continue coverage.

I have been with you for over 10 years with many pups and I have always given 5 stars. You have been excellent and I always understand your decision. However, you just denied a claim because it was 8 days past the time allowed to get teeth cleaned. I get my pups teeth cleaned every year. It was only over 8 days due to the doctor not having any openings. It was not due to any neglect. My pup has been with you five years and this is the first claim I have filed for him. He had to get a tooth pulled. By the time I paid deductable and 10% of the bill, it would have been approximately a $200.00 reimbursement from your company. It just seems fair that you would pay this. Denied for being over 8 days on the cleaning and first claim filed in 5 years. This does not seem right. Is there any way that you would reconsider this decision? Thank you.

I have been with PetsBest for many years, policies for both of my dogs. While it appears pet insurance has become much more common the past few years but PetsBest has always come through with every claim I have had to file on behalf of my dogs emergencies and health needs. They have never given me a reason to go elswhere for my pets insurance.

I have one elderly dog who has severe arthritis and Cushing's, and this past year another dog got bit by a venomous snake. Thanks to PB, I only had to come out of pocket in the end for $500 for the snake bite, while they covered the rest of my total of $1800 for treatment. They've never denied a claim for my elderly dog, and while the premium took a big jump this year I totally understand why - she's now 12 and we use the insurance A LOT. On occasion, claims do sometimes take a little longer to process, but they always send me an email and let me know they're working on it. I also love that they can make payments directly to care credit now, which I use quite often! So thankful for Pets Best!

it appears that Pets Best is trying to make filing a claim as difficult as possible! Had to send multiple documents, then they still had to contact vet. After all the trouble, did not meet deductible. Then, after delayed reply, Pets best claimed I have to meet deductible first before they cover any of annual checkup which was covered at 80% ? last year and paid promply. I am Very dissatified with service and coverage.

Difficult to submit claims. Website locked up and had to re-do the claim. But then it showed I had two of the same claims and I could not delete one. Annoying emails form them telling me they are having technical problems with some new software. Been 30 days and still not paid for dog's ER visit. I recommend against this company for Dog insurance.

Having Petww Best has been a huge help. I use their app to take a pic of my bill and send it and they pay within a short time to my bank account. There was recent glitch due to a system failure, but it's taken care of. When I call, a very nice, kind human answers any of my questions. The rates go up each year, like anything else. My cat is 19 yrs old- so the costs go up. But the peace of mind is worth it. That they pay 90% after my deductible enables me to help my cat with her kidney failure to feel better and live a bit longer. I appreciate them very much.

Takes too long for claims to be processed. They say 10-25 days and my claims have taken 20-25 days. Then about 3-5 days to clear my bank. That’s a lot when you’re carrying large balance on credit cards

Made two claims at the same time. One was against my deductible and I wasn’t expected to be reimbursed. This was recognized within a week. The second one was an expected reimbursement. It took my follow up after a month to get it reviewed. Then another 2+weeks to get it dispositions and paid. Even with all the medical records and invoice. I’ve been paying you for 5+ years on time. I find it disheartening that I have to insert myself into your process to get a legitimate claim paid in 7 weeks.
