“It takes a long time to get reimbursed. I talked to other friends who have pet insurance and they get reimbursed immediately or the vet bill gets paid immediately and directly to the veterinarian. There are no forms to fill out. There is no jumping through hoops to get the reimbursement. I would like to set that up with pets best as well. I don't want to keep filling out forms and downloading and waiting only to find out, Sorry that wasn't covered.”

“Bone cancer resulted in $12k skull surgery and they paid out as expected. Easy filing process and great communocation. I would only ask that they allow pre-approval so you dont have to pay the full amount and then sit wondering and stressing over if they will cover it. I called and tried, I was told they don't pre approve. For anyone with any experience with getting insurance companies to pay out, this is a stressful time. Thankfully they lived up to their promises with no ugly surprises.”

“Processing time is slow. Premiums have doubled every year since starting this 3 years ago. The way the deductible and 80/20 is calculated is nothing like health insurance, so you're paying way more anyway. If I knew all of this 3 years ago, I would've went with a different company.”

“I have been very pleased with Pets Best Health Insurance. I've never had to file claims with pet insurance until this year and have been pleasantly surprised by how straight forward the process is with Pets Best. Claims have been paid as anticipated (with clear and easy to understand EOBs) and my premiums for the coming year have only increased by a small amount despite the extensive medical work one of my dogs has needed this year. I would recommend Pets Best to anyone looking for pet insurance.”

“One of the cheaper options for pet insurance I’ve found. However my main concern is how long claims take to process. Getting 3-4 “we’re sorry for the delay” emails every single time I process a claim is incredibly frustrating. At that rate, just tell me the claims will take a few weeks to process rather than giving me an unrealistic and untrue time frame each time.”

“All pet insurance plans are expensive! I pay more because my little dog is older and has had some health issues. When he recently incurred several ER visits and a stay at one Univ Hospital, I knew what my insurance was going to cover because its the policy I chose. They always alert me that they have received the claim, if delayed they alert me again,and payments are prompt. If there ids a delay, it is explained. I am very happy with them.”

“The time it takes to process a claim is ridiculously long. It took almost a month to hear back from them processing the claim. I’m truly disappointed in the turn around time. It seems like there’s quite a few things they don’t cover but they’re no better than the Veterinarians who over charge ridiculously. I think the Insurance is probably only good for major procedures that cost quite a bit of money. But I could only imagine how long that would take to process.”
