I was very unhappy about the no coverage for my dog, Ms LuLu Pumpkin exts, on March 10,2026. Being well versed in insurance, which I do, usually diagnostic procedures are covered in any policy, but you group them together with your Perio clause, which eliminates all procedures, including x-rays, exam, DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES. Thats just plain wrong!!!You make it impossible to change insurance because of pre-existing clause. It’s a racket! I have no choice but to put on preventative pkg in October, when renewal. Ms LuLu had no previous dental problems before.

My dog was bitten by a rattlesnake and I sought immediate care for him, at the time telling the vet and staff to "just do whatever you need to do", thinking I'll worry about how to pay this later. Thankfully, after emotions came under control and logic kicked in I remembered that my dog is insured throufh PetsBest. He was released from the hospital after an overnight stay, I submitted the claimj (very quick andeasy, by the way), and within a week the claim was settled and I was reimbursed. Very pleased with the ease of submitting a claim and the turn around time for reimbursement.

PetsBest is a life saver! They are dependable and consistent. They come through every time, there's never been a claim they've rejected unreasonably and they've helped save my dog's life.

The worst experience ever. Claim was submitted 5 different times. I would call customer service who would say they have everything they need, only to email me and hour later saying they didn’t have the exact things I asked them to confirm they had. Would email asking for the documents only to send them and be told I was trying to make a duplicate claim. Such a long and painstaking process, it really felt like they were trying to make us give up so they wouldn’t have to pay out.

I have two policies, accident and wellness. I submitted a wellness claim in Dec 2025 and it took over 4 months for the claim to process properly and payout. It was rejected three times and each time I provided repeated documentation and one time more documentation. It took 4 phone calls and a good bit of frustration to get this claim processed. I was beginning to feel this is a stalling tactic where I would just give up on the claim. My first year claims were processed fast and efficient. This second year with Pets Best is very different and I am wondering if I will keep them as my insurance provider.

I cannot get over what happened to me a few years ago and my daughter-in-law and I just have not taken the trouble to research new companies (presently have two cats and dog with you). I am eighty two now and a couple of years ago my daughter in law reviewed my policy for our older dog, Jude (also called Yellow Dog) as I was paying so much monthly. What she discovered was shocking. For five thousand dollars yearly coverage, I was paying way over five thousand dollars premiums for the year. I forgot the exact amount but it came to maybe about $5600. When we called to complain and talk about it, we asked for a supervisor. The woman who got on the phone was a bully and horrific in everyway. We were not. She put us on the defensive and was aggressive. We even had to guts to ask for a refund and she just about yelled, "WE'RE NOT GIVING YOUR MONEY BACK!" She hung up on us. My son and daughter in law have that dog now and, of course, they gave up the policy. When I again called to report what had happened, I never was really acknowledged how horrible that lady was--the whole situation was kind of glossed over. I think it was hugely significant. I called Better Business Bureau and also told my vet at the time never to recommend your compamy. I got busy with other issues (moving, health issues, etc.) and we never changed companies for my other pets who are younger and each cost less than five thousand a year for their premiums. But it is on our agenda to change companies unless someone reviews the records and calls me to really apologize and make good on this horrific experience. Now you are fine but you take a long time to settle claims. My interactions on the phone have been lovely with your other workers whenever I have called but that lady ruined any good feelings I had for your company.

I have not had a problem with this company. However, I thoroughly read the fine print before I enrolled my cat. So, I know what to expect. The claims processing time is excellent, VERY quick. I do not like that pets cannot be covered at 100% and, that if you lower your deductable, it cannot be increased again, without a vet exam.

I'm happy to see that review and processing timeliness have resumed to normal after many many months of that not being the case. I understand there were some changes that caused a huge backlog for reps, but it was very frustrating for customers. Thank you!

High premiums, website never works, takes 2 months to be reimbursed most of the time, there is always a problem with my claim and I'm supposed to be psychic figuring it out or call them when they could just tell me in the notices they send. Absolutely do not recommend.

I am dissatisfied with the policy renewal. I was not notified of the annual price increase and how much. Also if the benefits had any changes with the increase of premiums. It was just drafted with the large increase. I tried to call but the wait time was too long and email option is not available.

It seems that whenever I submit a claim, old vet records are asked for, this has happened twice in two years. Why aren’t those records kept on file so that it doesn’t delay future claims processing ?

We have been with Pets Best for a few years now and we have had positive experiences with this insurance. Our veteranian does a thorough job, and Pets Best payments are expedient and go directly to your bank account. Pets Best is still one of the higher rated pet insurance companies, according to Consumer reports. Vet bills are not getting cheaper, and this insurance has been a great, for our Dachshund Winnie. Thanks Pets Best!

I've had a Pets Best policy for my rescue cat since since he was 4 or 5 years old. He developed diabetes at age 9 or 10 and we made numerous trips to emergency vets getting his insulin dose regulated. He's now 16, and while his policy premium is high and carries a high deductible, it's comforting to know that he's covered for emergencies (stable so far, thankfully and working hard with great vet care to keep him that way) that can add up so fast! Turnaround times on claims processing have significantly improved of late and were always within reason.
