“I have had Pets Best since 2020, for the last 2 years not been happy. Claims get denied that shouldn’t, and if I call I get attitude. I’ve been told that just remember if I change companies I have per- existing with a snarky tone. I’m currently in the process of changing companies. I have 2 fur babies that have policies with you guys.”

“Pets Best is the BEST! I was with another carrier that took for ever to respond and was inconsistent with approvals on my billing submissions. Pets Best have approved most of my submissons in a timely matter and gives a detailed explanation on what has been denied and why. No plans to go anywhere else.”

“I’ve have Pets Best since my dog was a puppy and she’s now 9. Submitting a claim is so easy on the app. I always get notified when they receive my claim, it’s typically processed within 2 to 3 days and the funds are in my account in a few days. I’m so happy I choose them for pet insurance”

“The research was worth it. No pet insurance is perfect, but Pets Best is the best that exists. They pay exactly what they say they well (read your policy and get your policy before you bring home your pet!!!). They have saved me almost $20k in the first year of having my pet due to unexpected and now chronic illnesses and then didn’t raise my premiums for renewal by a single cent. They are kind, helpful, easy to talk to but they are low tech and not reachable 24/7. If you have patience and can carry a credit card balance this is for you. Sometimes it takes just two days for me to get reimbursed and other times it takes over three weeks. Their app is not super efficient and often has error messages or crashes. But you can just email them instead. Know your priorities— a reliable company that has been around for long enough for me to trust them (and that they won’t just sell to the highest bidder in 2 years unlike so many other pet insurances), who you don’t have to fight with to get paid correctly, whose premiums don’t triple in a single year (looking at you, Healthy Paws- yikes!) were my priorities. I can handle the rest in exchange for an honest company with integrity and good customer service. Two of my friends now have it and also love it thanks to my hard earned research. Stay with whatever company you pick for the life of your pet. So choose wisely!”

“In my opinon, your premiums have gone up way too much, way to quickly, your claims processes are lacking. You ask for more information that requires additional trips to the vet to get exactly what you want, when common sense on your part should prevail. I tried to cancel last year but you were in the middle of a system upgrade and I could not get you to take care of the cancellation, so I stayed on to give you another chance. Now I am cancelling.”

“Pets best is trying to deny claims for my dog that they approved and paid for back in 2023 of osteoarthritis. They are saying it is a preexisting condition. They literally paid for the osteoarthritis claims 3 years ago because this is when she was first diagnosed. This is after they first tried to deny the claims saying they did not have all of the information from my vet, which my vet sent them on three occasions. They gave me literally 24 hours to reach out to my vet, which I did, and then denied and closed the claim even after I reached out to them. I am Very unhappy. I have talked to multiple people all telling me different things. Now they are saying I need to appeal the decision. Worst pet insurance ever, I do not have this issue with the other insurance I have for my other dog.”

“Extremely disappointed in the move to AI tools to review claims. I never experienced an accuracy or timeliness issue until the deployment of these new tools. 70% of my submissions require me to make a phone call to resolve the errors, which the employees advise are due to errors in the automated processing.”
