“I have had pet insurance for many years on all of my dogs. This is my first time with Pets Best. So far I am satisfied with their service. I shopped around and I felt that the coverage and the price were excellent. I would switch my older dog but I understand that they will not cover her pre existing condiitons. That is every insurance carriers policy as well. It is more difficult to reach their customer service if you have a question. I just tried to start a chat and they couldn't help me due to high volume so I was disconnected. My other dogs insurance carrier is very easy to talk to. I would recommend Pets Best, but be aware that it may take some time to reach customer service if needed.”

“Was paying $134 a month for my Yorkie’s insurance, the new renewal rate went to $213 a month for the same coverage. Totally outrageous!!! They have you cornered. Yes, I was able to get the monthly rate down to $144.59 by eliminating some of the benefits. However, you cannot increase your benefits the following year without cancelling your current policy, thus, if you have any pre existing conditions, you are out of luck!!! Nothing like being held hostage by an insurance company. They don’t care about our fur babies, only about their profits.”

“Having not read the fine print on the contract, I did not realize how many items were not covered by my policy. We have had coverage for 10 years and never had to file a claim. So having paid premiums for 10 years, now that we are trying to collect due to an illness, we find that office visits, medication and other items are not covered, even though they were all part of necessary treatment for our pet. After this experience, I doubt I would ever buy pet insurance again and certainly not from Pets Best.”

“Thank you for the opportunity you give to review my experience with Pet. Best insurance. I have pets best insurance for the last three Irish wolfhounds I have I have found the insurance company very good and very understanding, but I have to tell you there was one exception for when my Irish wolfhound died there a month ago I found it very frustrating to find out the amount that I either was going to get back or would have to spend in the end run. It was only $4.35 because I had raised my deductible for the new insurance policy. What I did not appreciate was when I sent the materials from the Vet veterinarian who euthanized my wolfhound. I had to send a copy of my check as proof that I had paid for this. I found it extremely painful and frustrating to be put in that position at the time that my Irish wolfhound died.”

“Overall, the claims process is good, and I receive few denials. Sometimes it can take 3-4 weeks for a claim to be processed, but other times it's 1-2 weeks. My biggest complaint is the enormous year-to-year rate increases, which would be entirely unacceptable for any state-regulated insurance. In addition, when you lower coverage or remove an add-on, you can't go back to where you were without starting a new policy with new waiting periods, and pre-existing conditions wouldn't be covered.”

“My sweet dog, Beau, struggled with a mysterious gastrointestinal issue that got very slowly worse over several years. When we had had all the tests that our regular vet had to offer, still without answers, we ended up at the University of Minnesota for lots of expensive tests. Throughout this experience, Pet's Best gave great coverage, paying a percentage of the bills, including all of his many meds. When we could not find a way to make him feel better, I had to make the hard decision to let him go. Even at the end, they paid their percentage for a quality of life consult with a vet, for euthanasia at my home, and even for the extra fee to have it happen on a weekend. Claims are easy to enter on their website, and paid within a few days. The monthly premium is very reasonable. I highly recommend them.”
