Great insurance but it should cover more for the price increase

My claims are consistently not paid yet my mom’s claims get her hundreds of dollars back paid back. Our dogs had the same sickness recently and the only difference was my mom’s dog stayed overnight at the vet and my dog didn’t. She got back $500…. I got back $32. I feel my claims are disregarded and not evaluated unbiasedly.

I was pleased with the PetsBest. However, the long waiting worn out my patience but I was relieved that I got a reimbursement that satisfied me. Thank you.

Our pup has had a rough year, and has been in and out of the vet probably 10 times. I had been with pets best for just over a year, and I was anxious to file my first claim, but the process was so easy, and I’ve been pleasantly surprised that every single claim was quickly approved, with a detailed explanation of benefits. I would rather have paid the premium and never had to use this insurance, but I’m incredibly grateful we have it in place, and we’ve been able to make decisions around his care based on the best medical option, not what we can afford. I will be a customer for life!

This is my first time having insurance for my pet. My puppy was hopitalized for a couple of days and after a few going back and forth with providing payment information I was able to get some money back. I am very grateful for having this insurance policy for my pet, and would recommend it.

I’ve only had this insurance for one month. I had to put a claim in and I was reimbursed within one week. I was impressed at how efficient and quickly they took care of it. It is one of the more expensive pet insurance companies yet the coverage is better than the cheaper insurance companies. I am happy with them so far.

Pets best is very frustrating. The claim times never are consistent and always being delayed. The They could be so much better all around. Their claims processing times always are increasing and it seems like if you submit more then 1 claim after the first one each one after takes longer and longer to process. My last claim I had to reach out to customer service 4 times because it went so long without being processed. I got the same generic answers everytime, that there's nothing they can do. I got conflicting answers also stating it takes 30 days, now it's 42 days, and then saying they can expedite the claim after 30 days but some say the policy is that you have to wait 42 days for and escalation. The escalation takes 24-48 hours to process. So you make me wait 30-42 days and then all of a sudden can process my claim in 24-48 hours? Why can't you do this to begin with? My claim timeframe when submitted said 30 days maximum. Each customer service rep I talked to was cold, rude, annoyed attitude, and lazy. It seemed no one had any empathy, compassion or care to help. Every rep I talked to belongs in a different field. This involves pets and their health /wellbeing I never got such cold customer service from a company for animals. Every service with my dog goes above and beyond beside pets best. They treat it as your just a liability and number. You don't matter to them. They will raise your rates every year for no reason. My dog had no claims for over a year and a half and the rates still went up. I'm afraid of what my dogs renewal will be this year as it's kept going up. They have good coverage but the customer service, and claims processing times are horrible. It's always going up and every claim submitted I get delay emails. Their not complicated claims and all except 1 was low dollar amounts. I confirmed each time I contacted them that they had everything needed to process the claim and kept saying it's just waiting for someone to complete. I make sure when I submit my claims its as detailed as possible. I asked to escalate it and the reps kept telling me conflicting answers and never did. I waited 30 days for my EOB for a claim that was under $110. The way they make you wait on claims is terrible. Then the reps treat you badly and offer no help at all. Each rep gave wrong information and didn't help. Pets best will make you wait way past your expected claim processing deadline and offer absolutely no help except tell you to wait until it's processed with literally no time frame. It stressful, aggravating, frustrating, and incures more costs from expenses of having to pay out of pocket and waiting for the money back which is much longer then one credit card billing cycle causing interest to build. Pets Best really needs to work on claim processing or hire more competent people who can actually help or speed up the processes. I used telephone and live chat to contact.

I have a friend who recommended Pets Best Insurance. I have never had any issues with my claims after submitting them. Other than pre-existing conditions, claims are covered. The app is super easy to use and upload right from the phone. Proactive/Preventive claims are paid super quickly while the reactive (accident/illness) does take some time because they need to request records from the vet(s). It may take up to 45 days but to me, it isn't an issue. I have one of the highest tiers they offer because it includes teeth cleaning and covers accidents/illness and well visits and preventatives. My boy will be 7 in July and I'm still paying less than $100 a month. The price does increase as the animal gets older because more issues may happen. It's just like us humans. A few things that I wish all pet insurance companies would do is give a 6 month grace period for rescue & shelter animals. I rescued my boy in July 2020 and I'm a 1st time dog mom. I didn't know anything especially that pet insurance existed until my friend told me. My pup had a lot of stomach issues from the beginning and we had been to the vet, to the Animal ER, to specialists before I even know there was pet insurance. Everything was listed as pancreatitis/gastritis but wound up being a chicken allergy/intolerance. It would have been nice to have a 6 month grace period especially since we are essentially saving 1 life and providing another life to be rescued. Also, with costs of everything increasing, it would be nice to get a bit more $ back for the flea/tick and heartworm meds. Especially if it's consistently given which prevents future diseases from happening, right? Definitely get pet insurance before your new furry friend steps a paw over the threshold! Tell your pup I said hi!

I have had to make two significant claims with Pets Best now and both times they have responded quickly. I’m so glad I have pet insurance, I recommend everyone have it. Pets Best has been great!
