“Do not use pets best. I have been a customer since 2022 and it used to be the best in the market. Now they are unbearable to work with. They make it so difficult to get anything improve, your rates will increase a ton YoY and then they will fight you on any sort or reimbursement. My pet has been taking the same daily pill for 2 years which has always been covered. The last 6-9 months they have made it so challenging despite having no problems for over a year.”

“The claim submission process is confusing and burdensome. Half the time when you get to submit, you get a 504 error message and have to do it again. They reject claims for trivial errors and make you resubmit paperwork to prove the obvious.”

“Pets Best is excellent at collecting $131+ every month and terrible at covering actual care. I pay for their most expensive, “comprehensive” plan and still get nickel-and-dimed on every claim. Latest example: professional teeth cleaning for my dog cannot be done for under $600. Pets Best reimbursed $150. Previous cleanings left me with nearly $1,000 out-of-pocket each time; they have never come close to covering even 50% of what I paid. They appear to look for every possible reason to minimize what they pay out. This is worse than my own health insurance. I would never recommend Pets Best to anyone. Companies that take large monthly premiums while delivering such limited reimbursement should be closely examined by consumer-protection regulators.”
