Claims take too long to be paid, direct deposit takes too long to be deposited. I had another pet insurance company for another dog and they had claims paid within 6 days and deposited into my bank account the same day it was finalized. Pets Best can do better.

They take a minimum of 45 days to process claims and automatically email stating there are delays every time.

I have been happy with pets best, but after years of being a customer I’m currently very disappointed with the massive rise in my policy premium, which is being raised 100%!! I understand an increase, but to go from $600ish annually to over $1300 is just absolutely so upsetting. I don’t know if I will be able to renew at the current increase. I have been satisfied with the policy otherwise.

They were quick with two claims but have taken ages for the largest claim. We still haven’t gotten a response for an emergency vet visit and it’s been nearly two weeks. Have been with them for five years now…and overall we feel Meh about it. They’re okay but if I knew it would be easy to find a much better option we would do that.

It is very difficult for me to communicate with your organization. I am blind and unable to access the link you provide, therefore the only way I can communicate is with telephone and no one ever picks up the phone and I am unable to leave a message. In addition, the process of reviewing the invoices and finalizing the reimbursement is delayed.

Our pet has been covered through Pets Best for a few months now. We just submitted our first claim at the beginning of the month. It took about 3 weeks for those claims to process and we are still waiting for the payouts to hit. My biggest complaint with our coverage is that there is not an easy way to get in touch with customer service for questions. I’ve had to call multiple times and each time I am forced to sit on hold for 30 mins before I’m connected to a person. Once I am able to be connected, the service has been good and the reps have been competent and nice to deal with, but waiting 30+ mins on hold each time is not a positive experience for the customer. I also had an instance where additional information was needed for my claim. I received an email about this, but was not told explicitly what the additional information needed was. Because of this, I had to again call customer service and wait on hold for 30 mins before being connected to a representative to help me. They were able to tell me what additional information was needed, but I was not able to upload the new information in the portal online or in app. There was a technical bug that would not let me submit so I had to ask for an email address to send the information to. Overall, I’ve had an OK experience with Pets Best. Reducing the customer service call wait time would greatly improve the customer experience.

Good benefits compared to other companies. The only downside is that is takes almost 30 days to get reimbursed for medication that my dog is going to need for the rest of her life. I wish since it is a lifelong illness I would be reimbursed quicker.

When I first purchased the insurance I loved it, my dog turned 6 and they double the price - so now it is super expensive. Can't switch at her age now to another company so I am stuck.

Pets Best Insurance has been okay, but the biggest issue for me is that the deductible is too high, PLUS you raise the monthly cost for the insurance to almost $20 more/month! This is pushing me to look elsewhere for the same coverage. Oherwise, you pay your claims quickly and seamlessly.

Premium rates increases (minimal communication was given) but the max payout to wellness remained unchanged. While peace of mind is nice, the wellness benefit for yearly examines and vaccinations has a pretty minimal reimbursement in comparison to the actual cost, probably better just using what was spent on premium for this coverage and putting into savings, which would have covered more then the cost of their visit and just keep the emergency coverage instead. Payouts do tent to be pretty quick.

The claim times take forever to hear something back. Everything is clear and relatively simple to understand. Other than the significant delays before you get info on your claim being denied or paid out, all is OK.

As always, I am disappointed at what is not covered for my dogs insurance. My friends have much better insurance that covers wellness visits and vaccines, heartguard, flea and tick. My $250 wellness visit got me about $50 back. On top of the $170 monthly premium. So it's just not worth the money. But I know the second I cancel it something back will happen ...... Insurance jail.

Ive been with pets best for little over 10 years for my dog. The last 2 years, the response time has greatly increased. It seems like it take over 1 month to review all calims. Ive had incidences when it is almost 2 months making it frustrating to have to wait that long. I recall years ago it was reviewed and reimbursed in 1-2wks period.

Takes over a month to get claims approved and complete is ridiculous! There is a list of meds that are covered, alternative options (probiotics and topical therapy for skin infections, prescription diets that the vet recommends over excessive medications are not covered. Vets/owners trying to not overmedicate pets are being penalized when this is recommended as best medicine for the pet. If recommended by a vet and sold by a vet this should be covered.
