The staff is nice. But the amount of time to process the claims especially for reoccurring ones are super annoying. Sometimes even denying my claims but I hate the claims process. I’ve had other companies in the past and the claims process is faster than this.

I took my dog to the ER, the bill was 800.00, after my 500 deductible I am being told I am being reimbursed 171.00! Very disappointed

I was disappointed at the amount covered.

Overall I have had a pleasant experience using Pets Best. The timeline of reimbursement often varies. If the total is a higher amount you can expect the payout to take quite some time. An issue I do have is that they have now stopped covering “technician” appointments because the appointment is not being done by a licensed veterinary professional. I take high issue with this as Veterinary technicians are an integral part of animal care at any veterinary facility. To diminish their work and their efforts is incorrect and downright appalling. Additionally most technicians are either certified as in they have completed additional school to get their degree (much like a human nurse) or they are working on getting their certification while they still provide outstanding patient care while working full time. An insurance company would never not cover the efforts of a human nurse because they are not doctors. The same standard should be applicable here.

After having insurance for years, insurance premium skyrocketed.

I’m beginning to think the reimbursement value isn’t worth my monthly payment.

Very quick response and good communication. I was surprised at how little of my dogs procedure was covered.

Ive had this for 5 years. Unfortunately like everything else, it doesn't cover as much as it did in the past. Disappointing.

I have 2 pets with this insurance. It's very expensive. They take a long time to pay. I'm glad I have it, but my only alternative is to give up my dogs.

As far as monthly premiums PetsBest is good. Their policy on payouts is strange though. When one chooses a yearly deductible for $250, one expects to pay the first $250. That’s not the way it works here… which is odd. They give you a small percentage back on each claim adding up to a few dollars so it’s very difficult to determine where you’re at with regards to the deductible. To determine your standing, that requires a phone call or live chat which is difficult to connect with.

They takes quite a while to process claims. We've never had an injury/illness and unfortunately had two situations this year; and while ins. did cover their part in accordance to policy, when it came time to renew my policy (mostly due to my dog becoming a year older), monthly payments have shot up an additional $30/month. 5 years of on time monthly payments with no claims, and this is the approach for longtime customers... will be hunting for a new provider. not cool, man.

Not too happy with a vet bill $360 and was only reimbursed $20 for chip and spade.

They take awhile to review claims and reimburse money.

I am very disappointed that my dog's pet insurance went up a thousand dollar in January 2025. That is outrageous. How could people afford dogs.

I LOVE all that they offer for the price that they offer BUT payment takes a long time. I'm used to a few days turn around time and with petsbest it's a few weeks, at least until they make a determination then a few days for payment. They definitely need to do better then if give them a 10. And hopefully they don't begin to increase premiums once my puppy becomes an adult and it'll be difficult to get another insurance

Overall I have been satisfied with Petsbest. The claims processing is very slow. Definitely need some work on that.

I'm a veterinary technician and have worked with a lot of pet insurances. Petsbest is a good insurance, but insish claim times didn't take so long. Every claim I've placed has been held up by pets best. Its definitely worth having, but wish claim times were quicker.

I have been a customer with multiple dogs for years and have been very happy with Pet's Best. Within the last year or so, I have definitely noticed a change for the worse in their service. They have been very inconsistent with how they process claims and the time it takes to do so. I have two dogs going through rehab and both meet for coverage, but their claims are being processed very differently. Twice recently, I have submitted illness claims and the person processing incorrectly changed them to wellness claims which are not covered under my policy. Also, when I have a question or am trying to notify them of something regarding a claim, the person you speak doesn't actually do reviews and can only offer their interpretation of what the person reviewing was thinking. In my experience, there are no notes on their end to clarify what the issue actually is from the person processing the claim, so the times I've called it was a complete waste of time and very frustrating since they offer theories instead of actual answers. Ex: one dogs rehab was denied saying the receipt provided didn't meet their requirements (even though it had been fine for 2 months) with a note saying it could be resubmitted with an itemized receipt (the vet's office luckily cooperated and sent me an itemized receipt which was approved) and my other dog that received the same treatment with the same receipt I am still waiting for a decision because when they sent me an email asking for additional information and I sent the itemized receipt, they called it a duplicate claim and the person on the phone kept telling me they don't require itemized receipts. A lot to say, that they used to be very ready to work with and now they are getting very difficult, but worse they are inconsistent.

When I started, I was told that the turn around was quick, next day payment. Now it's two or three weeks depending.
