I would be very happy with pets best insurance IF I DID NOT RECEIVE SO MUCH CONFUSION FROM DIFFERENT CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS PERTAINING TO THE APP AND WHICH CLAIM WAS BEING PROCESSED. In the end they processed the claim and I was happy to finally receive my reimbursement.

I think it is not right that the rates become ridiculously high when you your pet gets older. That is when you need the care the most and you make it unaffordable, after people pay into it or years. I also have a giant breed dog and some of her med is not covered because you only cover a certain amount of pills per year and she needs twice as much.

I've had a mostly positive experience with Pets Best since purchasing insurance for my 2-year old puppy shortly after I adopted her at age 5 months. I have been reimbursed for her medical expenses in accord with the terms of the plan I purchased, although there has been an extended waiting period each time. My one criticism concerns my experience of contacting Pets Best by telephone. After spending time searching the website for an answer to my question, I called the contact number and sat on hold for 41 minutes. Although waiting on hold is hardly enjoyable, I understand that it's sometimes unavoidable. What I do not understand is why I was forced to listen to an extended recording urging me to visit the company's website for answers to my questions EVERY 30 SECONDS throughout the hold time. Why??! The message itself lasts about 30 seconds, so I spent 20 minutes that morning listening to a recording of a message I understood very clearly the first time. The recording is obviously intended to force callers to abandon their place line in order to preserve their sanity. To make matters worse, no information is every provided about how long the wait will be. As my wait time stretched on, I began wondering whether anyone would ever pick up my call. Eventually, an affable and efficient young woman did mercifully end my torture and answered my questions. While I did my best to be pleasant, I can only imagine how she feels after an 8-hour day of speaking to customers subjected to the hold experience.

Processing times on claims is very slow, especially when there is no additional information needed. Was told 21-48 business days for one claim.

Extremely slow to process claims. Reliable price increases on premiums every year. This year’s increase was over 20%. Pets Best is not a sustainable model. We will be going elsewhere.

One I got through everything was handled professionally and all questions were answered. However I was on hold for 50 minutes before I was able to speak to anyone. The questions I had were not able to be handled on your online site. Speaking of your online site, my password is never saved. If I go the route of letting the app suggest a strong password, I have to create a new one Everytime because it is not saved. Very annoying.

It’s good to have but the coverage I have doesn’t seem to at least cover the first year of vet bills. Nonetheless, what they do cover gets paid out fairly quickly once a claim is submitted.

Pet insurance is very helpful. Submitting a claim can be difficult since there are no examples of each claim type nor is there an option asking the insurance to file under the most suitable type. Good and responsible pet owners are punished for taking their pets in for an annual wellness before the actual due date for a wellness exam. Having worked in a vet clinic before, it is extremely difficult to get good and well-meaning owners to bring their pets in before vaccines are due. An example being rabies vaccine; in most places to qualify for a 3-year rabies shot, the dog must have their vaccine updated the day before the due date at the lastest or sooner. My dog needed a check up for allergies. Things got more involved and it turned into a wellness exam with bloodwork, a out a month or so before her yearly wellness exam was due. It was in preparation for a dental cleaning, one dental extraction, and a mass removal with histopathology. As a result of being a proactive pet owner, $55 from a $703 vet bill is all I am reimbursed (this does not include the cleaning and surgery). I very much am appreciative of being able to afford and have pet insurance, but it needs to act less like human insurance when dealing with yearly wellness exams and prevention. Prevention is usually purchased twice a year in 6-month increments; once a year prevention purchases are most likely a 12-month supply.

Pets Best insurance plans are some of the best. The reason why I rate them a 3 is because of thier customer service (you can wait anywhere between 15-20 minutes to talk to someone), thier processing times - I recieved multiple emails apologizing for their delay and one stating they process claims in the order in which they are received, but that is not true, and they say 1-2 days to get your reimbursement deposited, yet it takes upto a week. I wish they would update what they send and say to you to be more accurate.

Good but took forever to process a claim (over a month). Also policy wasn't clear that the deductible is applied as coinsurance/copay rather than eligible expenses to the deductible 100%, and then coinsurance rate after that.

My 2 cats have been insured under PetsBest for about 3 years now and my experience has been mostly positive. Luckily, I have not had to submit many claims but when I do, I like the ease of their app/website and can easily upload the medical records and invoices directly. It does take quite a bit of time though before they respond with coverage, but they do give a specific break down of reasons for coverage. I decided to switch to Pets Best from another Insurance compnay because they offered the lowest monthly price at the time. Unfortunately, every year the price does increase significantly. It is just difficult to continue paying higher each year if the increase is so significant. Overall, I would still recommend PetsBest as I think it is still probably one of the more reasonable priced insurances out there and serves its purpose.

the only real thing I like about Pet's Best is the option for 90% reimbursement. They take forever to process a claim & just as long to reimburse. It took almost a month to process a recent claim for an emergency vet visit for my dog. And there still has been no reimbursement even though it's been 5 days since I was notified that the claim had been finished.

Poor communication when processing my first claim about what exactly they were looking for. Provided a receipt and took numerous attempts to figure out they wanted a copy of my bank statement as well.

The communication is very poor. I attempted to reach out by phone on multiple occasions and each time I gave up after holding more than 20 min. I reached out by email and took nearly 2 weeks for a response. The claims process in general however is exactly as described. Coverage was clearly outlined.

I have had this insurance for years. Claims used to be handled within a few days to a week. I waited well over a month to receive payment for my last claim, which is much too long. The coverage for my new puppy is more expensive then it is with my other dog. I am a little disappointed overall.
