“After years of never taking out insurance on our animals last year, we had to choose between an $18,000 surgery and euthanizing our dog. We took out a second mortgage and did the surgery and our dog passed away anyway. Over this past year we have adopted two dogs and two cats and made the very firm decision that we were insuring all of them. At the recommendation of a staff member at our veterinary office we went with Pets Best. They have not disappointed. They have covered everything exactly as they stated that they would when I took the policy out things that have not been covered are not surprises. I have never had to submit additional paperwork other than when I submitted upfront, then asked questions or had to argue. Everything has gone. Smoothly and payments are received quickly. Recently, we really took the policy for a test drive with our 14 month old dog who ate something we are still unaware of what it was and became extraordinarily sick requiring six days of hospitalization. It was so comforting to be able to make decisions for him that were not based upon the impact on our finances, but rather the well-being of our little baby. Our final bill was $7200 and I couldn’t help but wonder was the insurance actually going to pay? I had heard so many bad experiences with people with other pet insurance. Plans that I thought “oh man, let’s hope they come through.” They did. All totaled our responsibility was less than $1000 which accounted for the 10% co-pay that we had and a few things that were not covered. Again, we were not unhappy about the things that were not covered - we were aware, and it had been made clear upfront that the specific things things like special diets or supplements were not covered. We could not be happier with Pets Best!”

“Love Pet Best, Good insurance company to deal with, customer service is good also very helpful They have been very good to my dog, We have Pets Best since 9 weeks old puppy best time to get it No insurance covers Pre exiting conditions, Pets best do cover re-checks and medications and a yearly deductable not per claim. i never took pet insurance before many years ago but today you have so many different companies but you need to READ everything and compare. I think Pet Best is great out of all of them but you need insurance when puppy. It takes about 2 weeks to get paid back which isnt bad and direct deposit is the best when to go.”

“Overall pretty good value. I usually get reimbursed for my claims. This last one took way too long to process, almost exactly a month. But most importantly, I feel safe that my pet is covered from major accidents and happy with what I pay.”

“Having Pets Best has been truly the best experience. My husband and I recommend them highly. From my request for explanation of coverage when applying for the insurance, to every annual renewal, to filing a claim, to receiving reimbursement. Great communication, as promised response times. “We had the highest tier and yet so many things are not covered. Why are preventative treatments not covered. Why is only about 1/4 of flea/tick/ heartworm only covered? Very annoyed. In the end, our biweekly rates were much more just our yearly exam and vaccination. Rather defeats why we pay premium. Not worth it in my opinion. We are weighing cost of emergency care rates now. If it sounds too good chances are it is not all that”
