“I’ve had Pets Best for about two years for my now 2-year-old dog, and unfortunately, my experience has been very disappointing. While my dog is generally healthy, we’ve had multiple claims over the years for routine annual vet visits and more recently for a serious illness requiring multiple hospital visits and significant vet bills. The biggest issue is how slow and unresponsive they are. Claims take forever to process, emails go unanswered, and the app rarely works. The website is constantly glitching, and submitting a claim feels almost impossible at times. On top of that, the monthly premium is very high for what it covers. When I actually submit claims, a large portion is not covered, which defeats the entire purpose of having insurance in the first place. This experience has caused more frustration than peace of mind—especially while dealing with a sick pet. Overall, I would not recommend Pets Best based on my experience.”

“Pets Best is average insurance if you don't mind waiting weeks for them to approve or deny your claims. I've also had a difficult time reaching them with questions because there wasn't an online chat option available. I tried emailing with no response and gave up trying the phone number because of the long wait.”

“Horrible service website doesn’t work. It’s been more than two months. Cannot even assess my claims. I’m definitely going to cancel it. It’s a joke. I don’t even understand how those people are related to progressive insurance. I’m going to also complain to progressive as well.”

“Claims process is a LITTLE slow but I feel like Pets Best remains transparent during the entire process. We finally hit our deductible. The part of the process that seems unclear, and again, maybe I'm not patient enough, is when the payment will go out. They just e-mailed me this morning letting me know it would max of 7 days. But after my claims were all processed and had EOB information attached, I don't feel like it spells out clearly how much the consumer gets back. Maybe there is a better way to represent that ? I'm not sure !”

“I really like the sliding scale you can choose from for deductible and maximum spend. It was so helpful in getting all 3 of my dogs insured. It has been super easy to submit receipts and be reimbursed.”

“I have had to re-submit my claims a few times... I feel like it should be easier for vets to complete this. When I was told I needed to re-submit my claim, I wasn't sure what to do. I guessed. I'm also not sure if the wellness reimbursement benefits are outweighing the premium.”

“I love pets best insurance. We have a wellness plan and the reimbursement is alway quick. They are also wonderful about communicating the status of the claim. I would feel comfortable recommending this insurance for any one who is shopping for insurance for their pet. I was doubtful at first about purchasing pet insurance after hearing from others who had not had a good experience with the insurance they had chooses. Pets Best was recommended to me by a friend and im so happy that I decided to purchase Pets Best.”

“I like how easy everything but this is the second time Ive had to file and this time it took well over a month to get my payout which is very frustrating. It also took a fair bit of time the first time I used it as well.”

“Lengthy claims process - took 1 month + 3 days to process. Confusing process - I sent in all 5 bills for a broken foot. They processed each vet visit as a seperate claim #? I thought it would be easier to wait and submit all at once, but I guess not. Coverage received was what was expected, just a lengthy process.”

“I have yet to recieve but one reimbursement of my dogs vet bills this year and he has been to vet nearly each month for allergy shots, etc. I am appealing their decision and if I still do not get a resolution I plan on filing a complaint with the Oregon insurance commission. Pets Bests will then most likely raise my insurance rate on my dog or cancel my pets insurance. Time will tell.”
