When things work, PetsBest is great. I had a policy on our last dog for over two years and for the first year and a half, things were great! This year, PetsBest has become very slow in paying out claims. I have currently been waiting two months for over $1,000 that PetsBest has said themselves they owe me for two claims. Trying to contact them is a nightmare - there is only an 800 number, and you're at the mercy of the queue. I've tried filing a complaint through the better business bureua and have not had a response from PetsBest on this issue through that avenue either. They still haven't paid me.

Website and app are always down. Can never get anyone on the phone. No responses to emails. They close claims because of no medical records….records that they claim they will request but they never do. Joke of a company. We cancelled and moved on.

I like the ease of being able to do everything online. Coverage is very good, cost of policy reasonable. Claims are processed quickly.

I am thoroughly frustrated with Pets Best. They were great the first year I had them-- prompt claims experience, easy to use app. But for the last two months I can't get get into my account on the app or the web; repeated calls to customer service did not improve the situation, and the claim I filed almost six weeks ago ( via email because the website was down) remains unresolved. From posts on a Facebook site it is clear that my experience is not unique-- many others complaining of the same things within the same time frame. I am shopping for other alternatives now.

This last claim was a disaster. Took almost 2 months to approve along with 10-15 phone calls to make them understand. First bad experience but extremely frustrating and wasted a lot of my time if they would have listened to me.

This has been a terrible experience. I submitted a claim for my pet’s surgery and I was supposed to be reimbursed $1,153 after approval. The claim was approved and an email was sent to me Nov 27th that I would receive the funds directly into my bank account within 5-7 days. It is now Dec 11th and the money has not been deposited into my account but after calling the pet’s best customer service team, they told me that the deposit has been “Approved” and I should have received it. After calling my bank (Wells Fargo), they notified me that there hasn’t been an attempt from PETS BEST to deposit any money into my account. Every time I call PETS BEST customer service back, and wait on hold for 30 minutes, their team has no idea how to fix this problem or re-attempt to get the funds sent to me. This has been a painful experience all together and I hope this review reaches someone that can actually help me with this problem.

The submission process, website and claim system is an absolute mess. Also when I have called in to speak to a rep for assistance, they are terrible with customer service and knowledge. It's like someone put their high school kid on the line to answer questions.

This use to be a great company when I first signed up. Refund checks got to me within 2-3 weeks. Now it takes 4-6. Their rates have skyrocketed! Last year my dog was $120 a month, and this year it more then DOUBLED to $260. When my dogs pass I will not be a returning customer. I use to highly recommend them, I can't do so anymore. I strongly recommend people look for a more affordable company that are more punctual on refunding what's owed after submitting a claim.

I’m not happy with Pets Best right now. If you are okay with waiting for up to 30 days for your claim to be processed then go for it. Lately I’ve also had problems resetting my password. It was good the first 3 years.

Ive been with pets best since 2021!!!!! All I can say is plz upload your medical records. The first two years I would have to wait over a month for payment. Now give or take 5 to 7 days not bad I'm very happy with them. As long as they have the medical records they provide pump payment now. I love them

More like 3.5 stars. Claims take an over a month to get processed/refunded. Reimbursement does happen, however, the explanation on the funds that are not reimbursable are not very understandable, a lot of technical jargon that only a customer service rep can decipher. All in all I would and do recommend people to use PetsBest.

Trying to have a representative help me file my pet bills was a nightmare my Trying to have a representative help me file my pet bills was a nightmare my son-in-law who is very tech savvy also tried multiple times and anytime we talked to a representative we were given the runaround
