“The staff is friendly and Pets Best plans are better than others but recently I had my first ever claim and it took a very long time to get reimbursed. It was over 6 weeks to get my claim processed even though I provided the documents required right away. My vet also responded quickly with the additional information but it still took a long time. The online status of my claim also did not show up correctly the entire time.”

Yes, rates do go up once a year much like any other insurance, based on pets age, breed, and cost of care in your location. You are welcome to adjust your policy to reduce the rates.

“The insurance is solid and worth the price with a brand new dog (puppy). The only frustrating part is the processing time. I typically upload EVERYTHING I receive from the vet: invoice, medical synopsis, pictures, lab results, etc. I feel like the processors have all the information needed to make a determination. Yet, most of our claims take more than four weeks to process. It would be nice to get some communication that said SPECIFICALLY why it’s taking so long. Instead, we receive the same generic email every time.”

This is for one of the cats. The other claim, submitted the same day was processed very quickly. “I feel it is very expensive for what they cover. I am contemplating to stop the coverage and just put that monthly fee in my account to save for my dog.
