Every year I have to go through review for a preventative medication my dogs are on due to your staff trying to tell me it's not on your formulatory list. It's a preventative medication, not for a medical problem, my dogs are healthy, have no issues. Other than that I'm good.

Insurance is meant to help you with the unexpected, broken bones, urinary blockages or cancer. Wellness is not insurance, its a benefit meant to help you offset the cost of what you would be spending whether you have insurance or not, so its not going to pay your full bill for these wellness visits. Wellness is only covered if you include wellness coverage with your plan.

Although I opted in for this insurance after having this for a year and doing the math as well as input from family to take the money and put into savings i realized i am wasting money away. 12 months @ $40 estimated is $480 a year I received a total of $255 back and the other $225 could have gone somewhere else such as food for my family. So once the money is received I am canceling this and just opening a savings account for the dogs.

Very slow the pay. Insurance doesn't cover dental which is the most needed expense.

Expensive, however they do reimburse for what’s covered. The real issue is that they take a full month to review and issue payments regardless of size. In years past it would be 5 days or less. Thoroughly considering a change in provider as I don’t feel that it’s acceptable in any way.

Unfortunately, we were not satisfied with our first claim. The 15-day processing period was more than doubled, our unlimited annual coverage was limited, and our reimbursement was significantly less than 90%. We hope that things improve in the future. Pets Best was very respectful and courteous throughout this process.

Everybody is super nice and considerate and very professional when it comes to Customer Service on the phone one complaint I have is a big one is when I file a claim it takes between five and six weeks for the claim to be settled and during those weeks I get lots of emails apologizing for how long it takes to settle the claim I just think when I take my little kitty to the vet for a minor injury or minor problem it shouldn’t take up to six weeks to settle the claim .. also when I look at the final claim after they finished it I see lots of small deductions that they do they take that stop them from having to make additional payments I guess that’s in the small print with a tiny print that I missed but it’s a little frustrating to see all the tiny deductions that they takeoff to eliminate having to pay me or satisfy my deductible again it’s probably in the small print that’s difficult to find so I’m not saying they’re lying or being deceitful I’m just saying claims take too long to process and there’s too many minor deductions they takeoff I pay close to $400 a year with a 250 deductible and a 90% payment I think it’s pretty expensive and so far I’m not all that impressed mainly due to the fact that claims take 5 to 6 weeks

My experience in general is that they are mostly available to talk to but review of claims are overly long and drawn out. The most recent claim experience was very unsatisfactory, in that they kept asking for things I had already sent, over and over. When I ended up calling to ask what was going on and why they kept asking for things I'd already sent, they seemingly acknowledged that all those requests were in error on their part and they finally took care of it. Their EOB's are clear.

TLDR: good for emergencies. Nurse line is good. Don't go to the vet till insurance is active. Having pet insurance is great. The claims process/interface is really easy to use and we typically hear back pretty quickly. We had an issue where our dog might've needed surgery and her emergency visit and x-ray were almost entirely covered. We've also used the nurse line a few times which we like a lot. My biggest frustration is that our dog's allergies are not covered. The day before our insurance took effect we had our first vet visit for a checkup/vax. We made the mistake about asking about paw chewing. As new dog parents we didnt know it could be caused by allergies, boredom, etc... Now her allergies are a pre-existing condition. Our vet disagreed with the ruling and wrote an appeal letter but no change. I 100% understand that policies are necessary but it was frustrating to have something seemingly innocent, the literal day before her insurance kicked in mean she will never be covered for her allergies.

Each visit is always over $100, my insurance only covered part of the first few visit and I'm a year in. My out-of-pocket expense is less than what I am paying for insurance on an annual basis.

Hi, we are happy to hear your pet has been doing well. Insurance is for the unexpected accidents and illnesses your pet may have during the year. Much like your car insurance, you have it in case something happens but dont wish to have to use it as that means you were in an accident. I’ve had to file a claim twice, other than it taking over 30days and long hold times to speak to a representative my experience has been “ok”.
