“I refer at least one person a week to pets best insurance. I’ve not had any others to compare to but they gave me the best rate when I was shopping and they’ve never given me trouble about a claim. I find their processing times to be fair. They’ve kept up their end of the relationship and I appreciate that. I specifically joined a pet insurance research Facebook group to refer ppl to them as often as possible.”

“My pets have been insured with Pets Best since 2018 and they have always paid as expected on the claims I have submitted. I gave a 5-star review because of their high integrity in claims approval – they pay out what they promise and that is very important to me. However, my most recent claim (June 2025) was not on par with what I was used to from past claims. While I did eventually receive the claim in the amount I expected, it took longer than 25 days and there was very poor communication along the way. I didn't receive an email asking for more records until 18 days after I had submitted the claim. I am hoping this was an anomaly and not the new normal given their huge portfolio increase. My first claim was pre-COVID and at that time the claim approval was fast. A claim I submitted during COVID took longer, but I had expected that. We are now 5 years post-COVID and taking 18 days to request medical records and over 25 days to decide on a claim seems like Pets Best may not be staffing according to demand.”

“The process was very easy. I confirmed the vet would send a comprehensive bill to my email Logged into the PetsBest web site and dragged a copy of the bill and filled in requested information. I was kept up to date on the progress of my claim. I'm well pleased with the handling of my claim.”

“Does a good job responding to claims in a timely fashion, however, actual payments can take a long time to process. There were also some significant increases in premiums from year to year. All-in-all I am satisfied with them given other options but some things could be improved JJ”

“The sales rep. I had a pleasure speaking to was SO HELPFUL! She was very detailed in everything that I asked and also helped me to achieve a better plan for my pet. She was also patient with all the questions I had and helped me to better understand the difference between the policies. She had excellent customer service skills and knowledge of the items I asked about. I could not have been more pleased with her services. Although the rep. was very helpful, I do not agree with the insurance increase that has happened since I have been with pets best. I have been with Pets Best for (2) years and have had almost a $400 increase due to the inflation of rates. I do not think its fair for the increase of rates to apply for individuals who may not have as much needs as others when it pertains to their pets. This is something that needs to be taken into consideration.”

“Pets best is easy to submit a claim, however the processing time is abysmal. Every time I’d submit a claim I get an email 3 weeks in stating that it’s “sorry for the delay” and that it “typically doesn’t take this long”. But it’s every time, so that is typical. Then it takes about another week from then.”

“Every year this insurance finds another reason to not fully reimburse for care that is supposed to be covered. I will not file an appeal because it gets nowhere. Will probably cancel.”

“The EOB’s are easy to understand. I have not had to question them on claims. For my dog, almost everything I have put in a claim for has been covered once I met my deductible. If I have any negative, I have had a couple of times where the medication was covered and according to my vet, that was the only medicine available. But they still covered the appointment and the texts. So I am very pleased with Pets Best.”
