“This is my first experience with pet insurance, and I'm very glad I went with Pets Best. The policy itself is straightforward and easy to understand, and I believe their coverage is reasonable and fair. The online claims process -- my first -- went very smoothly, claims were handled in just a few days, online notifications were prompt, and having the claims payment made directly to my bank account means I receive the reimbursement quickly as well.”

“It's not an issue with PB: PHI, it's insurence in general. The arbitrary way they approve some things and not others is frustrating. If the Vet prescribs something as medical treatment, it should be covered. But consistently medicinal items have been thrown out. It's annoying and frustrating. For the amount that we pay per month to carry the insurence, these prescribed items should be covered.”

“Pets Best does its best to deny claims, even those that are clearly within the guidelines to be covered. The amount of paperwork they require from me and from my vet is absurd. Plus I just found out that they are now owned by the same company that owns Care Credit. So whose interests are they really serving?”

“My dog had to have surgery to remove bladder stones which was $2,000. The next year what do you think happened to my premium? Doubled! They suck you in with a low premium then if you have claims they drastically increase it! Of course, they have you in a corner because if you go somewhere else, those claims won't be covered as they are considered pre-existing!”

“You better don't have a pet with health issues because insurances are useless (not just pets best, in general). Once you get a policy, you'll have it for life, there's no option to update it or everything your pet has been to the doctor for, will be considered pre-existing. Of course the policy monthly fees and vet service prices will increase but not your policy limits, that'll stay the same for as many years as your pet lives, and of course it'll buy you much less with time, there is no way of changing/updating your policy with your current insurance or any other. This is a trap.”

“Though not typical, I submitted a claim on Sunday and received my EOB two days later. That is service! Pets Best is easy to submit a claim, and easy to get your EOB in a timely manner. They are the best!”

“Not impressed. I thought I would try a different carrier with my puppy. This is the 4th different carrier I have used and processing time and coverage seems to be poor even though I reviewed the benefits docs when first signing up. Thinking of canceling”

“We’ve had Pets Best since we rescued/adopted our dog a couple of years ago and our first time making a claim since purchasing his insurance. Filing the claim was easy enough, we paid the vet bill, sent in a screenshot of the paid bill, and were reimbursed (minus the deductible and copayments of 10%) within a week. There was clear explanation of an item not covered and a phone call was all it took to understand why it was not covered. Customer service was friendly and knowledgeable and even let us know that our veterinary office can call ahead to make a plan with coverage before treatment. Very pleased and the cost has just paid for itself in one visit due to trash dog eating out of the garbage can.”
