Pets Best is amazing and provides adequate coverage for my dog. The claims process isn't too bad, and claims are mostly processed and paid out in a timely manner.

I actually liked PetsBest for the longest time, even though the premiums increased 50% over four years. However, I just received notice of an ADDITIONAL 80% increase in my monthly premium, now $90 a month--which is more than I pay for MY health insurance. My premiums have now TRIPLED in a period of 5 years, and I will be researching alternatives to PetsBest.

the reimbusements used to be quick and efficient. now they are slow if at all. I called and the person i spoke to could care less. looking for a new insurance company

I refer at least one person a week to pets best insurance. I’ve not had any others to compare to but they gave me the best rate when I was shopping and they’ve never given me trouble about a claim. I find their processing times to be fair. They’ve kept up their end of the relationship and I appreciate that. I specifically joined a pet insurance research Facebook group to refer ppl to them as often as possible.

My pets have been insured with Pets Best since 2018 and they have always paid as expected on the claims I have submitted. I gave a 5-star review because of their high integrity in claims approval – they pay out what they promise and that is very important to me. However, my most recent claim (June 2025) was not on par with what I was used to from past claims. While I did eventually receive the claim in the amount I expected, it took longer than 25 days and there was very poor communication along the way. I didn't receive an email asking for more records until 18 days after I had submitted the claim. I am hoping this was an anomaly and not the new normal given their huge portfolio increase. My first claim was pre-COVID and at that time the claim approval was fast. A claim I submitted during COVID took longer, but I had expected that. We are now 5 years post-COVID and taking 18 days to request medical records and over 25 days to decide on a claim seems like Pets Best may not be staffing according to demand.
