At the beginning, this insurance seemed to be worth the money, but at this time I'm not sure I will continue as both the speed of responding to claims and the coverage seems to have declined. Where claims used to be tended to within the month, this last claim took a month and a half and came back with many gaps. The coverage level for my pet is not the lowest level—I pay more for more services, but don't seem to be seeing them. For example, the particular antibiotic prescribed to my pet is clearly stated as covered in the list of covered medications, but this last claim came back without reimbursement. Not sure what I'm paying for if the claim responses are lagging so much and reimbursing so little.

I was extremely disappointed with the turn around time for my claim. The review took 2 months when there were minimal records. I work in the field and work with several insurance companies and this type of wait was absolutely outrageous. It could have gone faster by reading one word per day of the medical record. I understand a waiting period but this was over the top.

My claim took a very long time to resolve, with little or no communication to explain why. In the end I had to phone to ask what the delay was. A little disappointing.

Have been a customer for 3 yrs. Pets Best used to be efficient but during the last 1 1/2 yrs, customer service has fallen off. Takes more time to reimburse claims ( over 3 weeks on average ) and there was a substantial increase of $22.00 more per month on my monthly premium. To make matters worse, I had to endure a appeal process on 6 claims that took over 60 days to settle. Not really happy with Pets Best any more.

My premium has almost quadrupled in 3 years as has the amount of time I now wait to be reimbursed. Im shopping around for other insurance.

The claim process takes too long. There is never a delay in processing my insurance payments so, there should be less of a delay in claim payments.

It is unortunate that when you don't need the pet insurance, they are great. But when you do need them, and have NOT read all of the exclusions, it is very frustrating to learn what is not covered. Pet insurance is NO different than insurance for people...it's expensive and still might not help you when needed.

Took a long time for the claims to process. From start to finish, it took 8 weeks. Also, copay was high and so in the end, I shelved out 70% of cost. Due to these issues I will be looking for a new insurer soon.

I would have loved to give 5 starts, because PetsBest certainly has provided quality services in the past, but lately it has been lagging behind. These past few months have been very challenging with Winston's surgery and subsequent monthly shots...so my expectation was to receive my reimbursement in a timely manner, but so far everything has had at least a 1 month timeline, which really impacts my abilities to properly cover Winston's expenses. I normally have a set budget for Winston's monthly expenses, as well as a minor emergency fund, but that was set with the expectation that reimbursements would arrive within 2 - 2.5 weeks...not 4 - 5+ weeks. So this is creating a scenario where some of my other bills get pushed back to help mitigate this delay. I'm not happy about that. So far i have not heard of any changes or at least plans to make changes related to this short-coming. I'm staying because i really don't have a choice. If i leave...other insurers will not cover his existing allergy shots, so i'm really hoping you take this message to heart and really work on this issue, so you don't have a reluctant customer...rather a happy/satisfied customer.

Maggie got hurt out in the yard. Went to vet. Got medicine and diagnosis after xrays and exam. Surgery in the future???? Claim denied. Don't understand when I thought this was the kind of thing covered. Oh well.

It took over 5 weeks to process and receive the check for my claim. Some of us depend on the quick service that we've been used to in the past to pay our veterinarian bills.

I'm not happy with a determination of pre-existing condition for a cat that I have had for almost 3 years. I haven't had any claims paid. Just because when I brought him home he had diarrhea doesn't mean that the diarrhea her has now is related. Very unimpressed. And there hasn't been a way that I know to appeal. Additionally the claims for other pets turn around time has more than doubled. If I could change I would. I'm stuck though 😣

When I first started with Pets Best over 8 years ago you could submit a claim and you would get a portion back within a week. Now, it is completely different. I have paid faithfully on time for all these years for two dogs. One of my dogs that has never had a claim got sick in July and I have submitted claims in July 2019 to current and have not received a dime back. I have called and just get the same story, we have a large number of claims to process so we are behind.

Not satisfied, the time in which it takes to process a claim is ridiculous. I have had other pet insurance company process with in a few days. This company takes weeks or even moths to process one claim. Thinking about switching companies. ☹️

There is a limit of 2500.-- over a life time per diagnosis. Whenever I send bills for various diagnosis they list them all under the same "undiagnosed lethargy" which is not a diagnosis instead of dividing it up into the different diagnosis my dog has. Of course the limit is reached very fast and they refuse to pay for the vet and medication.

It has taken over a month to get any response back about my claim. That is frustrating. If it is going to take over a month then an email or call should go out notifying the customers of that.
