First time I've ordered from Power Tools Direct. Delivery of item delayed by a day or two, but received a quick reply to enquiry about this which was very satisfactory. I will be placing further orders with them in future, so overall, pleased with service.

I wish I could leave a good review but unfortunately...... I placed and order, paid for express delivery and waited! Order did not arrive so I chased and recieved an email with a tracking number (for half my order). I chased again and asked to be called.....got another email. Contacted them a third time, again asking for a call.....surprise, surprise, another email. Oops, we don't have your order in stock so we held it back! I lost several days work waiting for materials that they didn't have in stock but still took my order and accepted my payment. I had to compensate a very unhappy customer, who quite rightly thought I'd hopped off to another job (until I showed him my emails), lost time and obviously money but at least PowerTools said sorry so I guess that makes it all better!

Bought 2 products paid extra for express delivery. Parcel turns up later than expected with only half of the order. Contact customer service to be told that the full order has been delivered. Email them back to let them know that it is definitely not been fully delivered. They continue to say it has and make out that I’m lying. They then say they will take up a dispute with the courier but in the meanwhile I’m out of pocket for a product I’ve not received and no intention of sending me a replacement out while they deal with the courier. Customer service is one of the worse I’ve had the unpleasure of dealing with. Would avoid this company in the future. Also no phone line to speak to anyone???

Purchase from them 3HP SIP dust extractor. Unfortunately they send me 2HP SIP dust extractor, apparently wrong description on website. And nothing wrong with that have my refund. But it was 2 weeks ago and description remain the same.

Good service, good product but please think about packaging, the black plastic you wrap the product in is awful, difficult to remove and cannot be recycled, would be great if you could replace with something more sustainable

I’ve no doubt when I finally receive my item it will be fine—but I have waited in patiently since early afternoon in case it was delivered early-delivery time given as between 17.30 & 18.30 -roughly-time now is 21.45–and even though I’ve been receiving regular updates on the dpd app-stating they were “running late”and “ the driver will be with you soon”—I’ve just received a txt saying sorry we missed you at 1800—complete utter garbage and total lies—also infuriating—and a rip off charging £8 for this crappy service—I was relying on receiving the clamps today in order to get a glue up done overnight-for an order to send out tomorrow—will seriously consider other alternatives for my next purchases -if you think this is in any way acceptable!!! Absolutely dreadful!!!

No answer to my 2 Emails about order not received which I paid extra for quick delivery, Tried to call via phone number but saying not taking calls saying everyone is working from home, luckily enough I paid via PayPal so going request a refund, terrible company don't deal with.......

placed an order and paid for 1-2 day express delivery, still waiting on 4th day for delivery. contacted customer services who told me that they do not guarantee the delivery, so why offer something you can not do, no offer of the extra postage refund, really disgusted will not use this firm again, i am thinking of contacting the fair trading people to see what they will say, buyers beware

This is the first time that I have used power tools direct and it will certainly be the last! My order was placed on 22 May and, as you may be aware, in accordance with this company's terms of business, delivery paid for in addition to the goods value, with a promise of delivery within 48 hours. When I hadn't received the goods by 29 May, I called the company to ascertain why. There was no reply on their helpline, but I was promised that if I left a voicemail message they 'checked their voicemail regularly throughout the day' and so would be back in contact as soon as they did. I waited two hours for a return phone call and when none materialised, called them again - same voicemail, same promise. Still no call back! I called TWICE more and, on the fourth attempt and after eight hours of trying, I finally spoke to a member of staff, I explained the problem in detail and he told me that the goods had been despatched to my previous address, which we left some six weeks previously. Apparently their courier, UKMail had attempted to deliver, but as the house was unoccupied, had obviously been unable to and and, according to the powertoolsdirect person, there was the possiblity of re-delivering to my new address, but that this would incur another delivery charge - first time I have encountered this in years of direct trading! Apparently, the reason for the delivery fiasco was that I had payed for the goods by PayPal and the fact that my PP account still had the old address showing (because I hadn't fully informed my card issuers of my new address) this over-rode the delivery details that I provided on powertoolsdirect's own website. INCREDIBLE! He then promised to call me back with a resolution to the situation. When he failed to do so either that day or the next day, I called PTD myself AGAIN two days later. The PTD guy who I spoke to on that occasion very clearly couldn't give two hoots about me or my missing goods and told me that they hadn't received a response from UKMail, so this was probably the reason that the other guy hadn't rung back. However, paradoxically, he also informed me that they had received a message from UKMail asking that I contact them myself - once again, totally INCREDIBLE. I did so immediately and quickly and easily found that my goods had been returned to PTD! Understandably now completely sickened by PTD's laissez faire attitude and non existent customer care skills, I contacted PayPal and, when the above catalogue of woes was explained, they immediately suggested that the supplier was significantly in the wrong, raised a dispute, froze the payment and explained that I would receive a full refund once the dispute period had expired. So, in summary, a most unsatisfactory first encounter with this business and one which I have no intention whatsoever of enduring again. My advice would be that, unless you are prepared to put up with an administrative shambles, lack of apology for the mess that they create and a completely 'couldn't care less' attitude from unhelpful and unrepentant staff, then you should avoid buying anything from this business. The possiblity of the entire transaction going totally wrong simply isn't worth the the hassle, when there are so many other excellent online suppliers who know how to 'put the customer first'.

Hi David, wow that's quite a story! I am sorry to hear that you were unhappy with the service. Our story is fortunately a little shorter. The order was placed via your PayPal account which you had unfortunately failed to update with your current address. Hence the delivery was attempted to an empty house and consequently returned to us. In these cases we must wait to receive the goods back before offering a refund. I would advise updating your PayPal account as soon as possible to avoid the same issue with other retailers.

They took money from me too without having the item in stock. Then made me wait a week after chasing them 4 times. Still didn't have the product and delayed my job. They have a phone number but don't answer it. So I would try ringing them first to see if you can get them to answer before placing an order or you could end up with the same disappointing service. I did get my money back but lost more by them messing me around. It's worth paying a few pounds more buying elsewhere.

Placed an order a week ago , half of it turned up , asked when the rest was being sent , just got refund for the unsent items with no explanation ( should have used Amazon )

Prices fine Responses to emails OK Shipping - poor. Ordered on 3rd Jan with 5th delivery shown. Paid for Express delivery. Evening of 5th - no delivery and still showing as processing, so not even shipped. Telephone contact IMPOSSIBLE

Ordered before Christmas as a gift, paid for fast delivery, item has still not arrived! Lack of customer service, as only answering to customer queries and complaints via email as their answer phone message tells you that this is the most efficient way , I had no confirmation or tracking number with my order and was not given any information as to what was happening with it either via their efficient way of serving customers.

19/12/23 A few issues that let this company down Firstly I paid for express delivery and it came with palletways on economy. Secondly they claim they can have a parcel out to you in two days when ordering whereas I ordered on the 7th of December and only received the package on the 19th. No apologies for it being late no explanation as why it wasn’t on express delivery. As a business owner myself if something is wrong or we haven’t met up to our customers standards we try our up most with plenty of communication and try to resolve the issue as well as offering an apology. Very poor service with no sign of a refund on the express delivery charge which I didn’t receive and no apology either for the inconvenience.
