Ordered 2 replacement keys for lost Thule rack. Online purchase says that they would call me when ready for pickup. After 3 weeks, I began enquiring weekly. I was first told that none of the stores had my key# and they were on order from Thule. Nothing for 2 weeks. I contacted Thule Canada and they had my keys available to ship immediately. I thought I would be getting them soon by RA. The next week I enquired again. Somehow, they had keys in a close store and they were being sent. A week later, they had keys at a different farther store and would send them. After 9 weeks of my order, I was finally called. Upon pickup, I mentioned the unsatisfactory delay to the store rep and he told me that it was normal to wait that long. Many have waited longer... Really? The keys worked on my rack. Poor communication and excuses. I would likely be still waiting if I didn't keep sending them messages for updates. I should have ordered these directly from Thule Canada.

Bought new. Sent me open box. When contacted, sent me message saying you are sorry that I am not satisfied with the product. - as if I was the problem. You offered 10% credit but for 30 some $ difference I rather have the new. The product is good. Sending open box item wasnt cool.

I was really happy with service from Rack Attack initially, they were responsive to my specific questions and let me know which rack would fit my vehicle. I am really disappointed with this rack though. My vehicle meets the requirements stated in the specs, but it bangs against the road when we put 4 bikes on it (2 of them are for children under 7 and it still sways downwards way too far). Its not driveable in the 4-rack configuration, so we are only able to use it for 2 bikes (not very helpful for our family of 4). I tried to reach out to discuss possible exchange with Rack Attack but didn't get a response.

Rack was delivered on time. Unfortunately I was unable to schedule an installation because the store did not return my calls or e-mails. When I went to the store to return the rack, the staff member on duty was very helpful, but they could not install on short notice. I had to return the rack and get it at another store that would schedule an installation. Store is understaffed, but failure to return calls left me with no sense of when I might get the thing installed.

Hi Mark, I'd like to learn more about what happened so that we can figure out how to make this right, and avoid similar issues in the future. We usually place the locks in one of the other product boxes. If you can't find them in one of those, please reach out to me at ejames@rackattack.com. Best, Eric

Can’t understand why you would send someone and open box item when clearly it was supposed to be brand new. Parts were scattered, bike rack was scratched. Subpar standard. I think you need to train your store associates in understanding what a brand new item is.

A part was missing from a base clip box. I contacted them to let them know. They said they would overnight the part and email me when it was sent--I never got an email so I had to fabricate a part. The store near me didnt have one and I only had 3 days till leaving for my trip. After making a new rubber pad by gluing two mouspad cut outs together grippy side out I was able to install the rack successfully. I hope they decide to mail the part to me eventually.

One of the parts I received was dented such that I could not assemble. I had to use tools to bend it back into place such that the fitted parts could be assembled.

Where to start? The short version is that I went to the 'experts' to get the perfect rack for my car, and the gentleman that advised me on my order specified Skyline towers for my naked roof. Had I done my homework I could have avoided what turned out to be a comedy of errors and not wasted 3 weeks to get my new kayak to the water. (Hint: Skyline towers are for cars that have landing pads, Baseline towers should have been specified). My order was shipped from 3 different locations (?), and finally arrived 8 days later. After meticulously following directions and assembling the towers to the bars, complete with boat loader, I opened the boxes for the base pads and discovered I had the wrong towers....seriously? This started a two-week saga that included: calling in for guidance on what to do next; speaking to a woman who seemed not to know how to process a return and needed to find information; not being followed up with the next day and calling back and finally speaking to a nice woman from Toronto who apologized for the mixup and advised me about a return label, and followed that up with an email. (Hat tip: Tanvi K) Great: I return the towers, the proper ones were being sent, and I wait another week for delivery. Upon receipt of the replacement towers and my attempt to install, I discovered that the snap-in clips that seat the bar brackets were actually part of the bar package, and not the towers, but I sent mine back with the towers that I'd returned. Wonderful: Now I call back once again to ask about how I get clips, and was told they'll have to locate my returned package and get back to me. I tell the guy I'm crazy to get my new yak in the water, and ask if there's any possibility to get expedited shipping on the clips? The guy says "Well we're not spending $35 to ship these to you a little quicker".....I thought of mentioning that I wouldn't be in this position if someone had originally done their job, but I was simply worn down at this point. Another 8 days for delivery and finally, FINALLY, I had all my parts. The Good: Yakima Core Bars seem incredibly well made, and the directions are quite clear. Along with the installation videos, the install is very straight forward. The Bad: Rack Attack customer service seems mired by inconsistency. With respect for the (no doubt) dozens of professional, competent, and caring employees at Rack Attack, my story is about lost opportunities to make things right. Nobody except Tanvi apologized, or offered me any type of compensation for my frustration and time lost. I can think of an easy dozen companies whose customer service alone makes me want to come back: REI and Amazon being two of the best. The Ugly: Belatedly, I decided I wanted to get the Yakima Jay-Low kayak carrier for my core bars. Though I'd love to support a small business, guess where I went?....Amazon had it at my doorstep in 2 days. Moral: You don't get a second chance to make a first impression: Caveat Emptor, and do your homework!!!

Contacted tech support. After numerous discussions/ pics to find the right Thule base for existing racks/ accessories. They still sent the wrong item; fixed point instead of floating foot packs. I incurred delivery charges but didn't receive the item I needed.

While they have a nice variety of racks to sell you, they unfortunately are not interested in helping at all with installing them. No guidance; refused when asked. We were told to find videos online. Maybe they don't know the products very well afterall. I could buy online for less. In todays day and age its customer service that sets companies apart. Perhaps they don't realize that.
