Good to see all the negative reviews here. My experience similar to many others posted here. Reverb was a good site when it first started, customer service was excellent. My last deal with Reverb they supported a seller who failed to honestly describe the guitar as a factory 2nd. Never again. They lost an excellent buyer and seller, near 100 transactions when I cancelled my membership.

Reverb is the absolute worst when it comes to service as a seller unless you buy the expensive insurance from them they won't help with shipping issues. What they don't tell you is UPS considers them the shipper and wont return your merchandise or work with you as a seller if there is a shipping issue. I lost $1000 bucks this way and they told me to bad so sad and would not intervene.

Where sites like eBay often differs sometimes too much to the buyer Reverb doesn't respect buyers at all! I've bought and sold on Reverb and the rarer occasions there was an issue sellers took care of the matter. Recently however, I had a seller not cooperate When I explained an amplifier I purchased had an issue. When I exhausted the road with the seller I escalated to Reverb support. They were throwing the burden of proof upon me asking I video the intermittent issue the amplifier was doing. How am I supposed to prove an intermittent issue with an amplifier being disabled and not technically evolved enough to video? I don't own that kind of equipment, I'm older and disabled. I certainly didn't purchase this amplifier so I could turn around and have to repack it and send it back. This isn't a high volume seller by any means I have more feedback than they do. He must be related to somebody at Chicago Music Exchange/Reverb or something. This is why Reverb divorced itself from buyers using PayPal because you have that road to go and they've taken that away from buyers. I ignore that and use it for most purchases but happened to choose Affirm so I could spread out the payments on this purchase. Apparently I will have to go to Better Business Bureau and beyond since there's no support in the support department at Reverb. With Guitar Center filing Chapter 11 you would think Reverb/Chicago Music Exchange would be more buyer friendly.

Reverb.com fees are OUTRAGEOUS NOW. They're now taking upwards of 20% and that's AFTER you pay for postage. Forget it. Just another greedy online service. Going back to eBay.

Reverb has moved away from PayPal. Initiating their own version of managing funds. It is more expensive, very slow (week and half to recognize funds on a $860 transaction). Compared to previous dealings where transactions were instant "funds received" and ability ship out next day. Especially if you're a 5 star rated user, with accolades professing ease of dealing, product as described. Reverb's new pay-system is more like being penalized for the few bad actors on Reverb.

I have bought and sold thousands and thousands of dollars worth of gear over the last decade on reverb.com. But as of recent, Reverb.com has just become too cumbersome. In fact, it used to be my nightly ritual to peruse the site, but no more. Here is why: They have edged out Pay Pal (not that Pay Pal does not blow too). You can no longer have your funds go directly into your Pay Pal account they must be transferred directly into a linked bank account. Not happy about that for 1.) Security reasons, 2.) much harder to keep my Mad Money obscured from my wife. I am sure this rings true with a lot of guys. Additionally, their fees are now ridiculous, especially when you add taxes (Taxes for something that has already had taxes levied against it the first time it was purchased). It is my opinion that Reverb.com has made a major mis-step with the above noted changes. Decide for yourself...Take look at all the negative reviews here. That should tell you something. Etsy has ruined Reverb.com

POS company. Makes it seem like they have everything taken care of and then you get an email almost 3 months after the sell was completed saying the shipping label they printed for me was wrong and I owe more money. No way to dispute, no way to do anything but lose money they took from me on this. Only thing I've ever sold through reverb, will never use site again.

SCAM ALERT! This company is the biggest fraud to date. I gave them the benefit of the doubt but unfortunately fell for their lies. Now i'm out $2k that couldve well gone to something or someone else that ACTUALLY DELIVERS THE MERCHANDISE YOU PLACE AN ORDER FOR. I am 2 months in since the $ was withdrawn & no product has arrived to my door. NEVER AGAIN - ESPECIALLY SINCE THEY DONT EVEN HAVE A CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE TEAM!!!

If you are a seller, beware. Reverb‘s (Etsy) uneducated listings dept will baselessly pull your listing claiming trademark “design” infringement and will threaten to suspend you if you relist. They provide no proof and no returned response to their baseless, ignorant claims. They are too lazy to present evidence to their claim or even return emails. You can’t call or talk to a human being anywhere other than chat which is USELESS. Theres been no trademark EVER filed for the design of the guitar I listed, and yet the uneducated listing dept cannot be bothered. I would look elsewhere to sell your items unless you want to deal with folks who could care less about their customer base, aka the people that pay their wages.

This company allowed their change of payment method- from PayPal to Reverb Payments- to impact their repeat customers as if they were brand new customers. Their "customer service" is non-existent and is OK with telling you there's nothing they can do. Highly recommend going elsewhere with your money.

The site was good in the beginning, now they don't give a damn if you need them, me as a seller and some buyer were involved in a ridiculous matter just because the lack of support from the site, they are pretty good charging you for everything, but when you need any support, forget about it, a bunch of silly kids doing nothing to help you out.

This business is a sham.It is ridiculous how they can't even realize if you have been paid or not.Your better to give your item away and feel good about it than deal with them

I ordered a guitar from a shop called Music Matters Florida. The guitar was listed as refurbished in mint condition. It showed up with a crack where the back of the through-body neck meets the body. I looked back at the listing pictures and could see the crack hidden in the glare of lighting. When I zoomed in, it looked like there was some image editing to blur the crack area. I messaged Reverb that I thought I may have been knowingly sent a broken instrument. They responded only that they could see I was refunded. I sent another message again stating my concern. They did not respond. I can't find a place to leave seller reviews on the site, but someone else has given them a review. Maybe Reverb doesn't let return orders leave reviews?

Paftone Handwired 5e3 Tweed Deluxe Clone 1x15 I asked for a refund because the seller sends me a guitar amp that is not working... He refused... Reverb is not acting to protect me... I paid for the amp, shipping, and tax and it is not working...

Terrible seller experience. Reverb hold money paid by customer until id is verified. Have tried to do this multiple times but passport is rejected as is other uk government id. Help desk cannot say why and cannot do anything about it. Avoid this site.

Done with Reverb, got burned on a guitar deal and was told since I paid with paypal I would have to file a claim with them which I did and won, during the process I never heard another word from Reverb, this wasnt the first problem I had had with their site, its pretty much anything goes so I closed my account, I will stick with ebay.
