I was very disappointed at the uncompetitive price offered by RIAS on one of my policies with them. My husband and I shopped around and got a price half of what RIAS had quoted. We have been RIAS customers for years but will now be shopping around again when my other pokily is due for renewal.

Given contradictory advice on car insurance renewal on two separate days by two different advisors. Given a price by the first advisor which included an additional driver. Was told by taking the additional driver off the policy it would save £86. Phoned back later and asked to take the additional driver off and was told the price of renewal was identical to the original one i.e. the cost with the additional included! I quibbled and got some minor reduction but I won't be staying with Rias next year. I've never made a claim in all the years I've been with them. Very unhappy.

The first year they give you a great deal,2nd year cost creeps up .Sell your car and ring them ,they are a complete RIP off. My renewal is due and its bye bye RIAS !!!!

Repeatedly asked to provide documents when they have been uploaded to your on line account and emailed to the Customer Service team does NOT inspire confidence.

mix up with renewal of policy and new policy did not enhance my experience. Shame I did not have time to cancel this policy then go back to renewal. Not sure why web cost is higher than postal renewal quote anyway, seems different to any other firm John amandini

Main complaint is time it takes to get through on the phone. Last time I rang it took over 20mins to speak to a person and then he said that he was a trainee and could not answer my question and I was put on hold yet again! When I did get through I could hardly tell what she was saying.Her comment was that my phone was faulty and hers was fine.I pointed out that I could hear the "robot" who was telling me how sorry she was and the dreadful "music " perfectly well. Dread to think what the phone bill will be. Why not just have the engaged signal when you are busy?

Your product was simple and the price competitive, The lady on the phone was good but your internet service was awfull it failed.

Bought car insurance online and was told I would have to send proof of no claims. I sent my renewal letter and was told this was not acceptable so I sent all the details of my last insurance which included the no claims. Had a phone call to say that these were not acceptable but that a renewal letter would be! Told them I had already sent this. Eventually got it sorted but not sure I will go with Rias again. I did not have this problem with Saga.

When taking out insurance with Rias I asked for the relevant paperwork to be sent by post (I was given this option) but so far this has not been received! So no review possible at the moment!

I paid for a years building and contents insurance, only to receive a demand for an extra £85. stating I had not disclosed a claim I made via RIAS 2 1/2 years ago. I disputed this and asked why the policy clearly showed 9 years no claims on building and only 2 years no claim on content. (which to my mind proves they knew about the claim, otherwise I would have received 9 years no claim on contents as well) Rias still insisted they knew nothing about the claim. As this all happened just before Christmas and I didn't want the Policy cancelled I paid it, wrote to Aegis who the policy is with, and to date have received no response what so ever. I doubt I will ever use RIAS again.

It was with regret I found that I could make a substantial saving on your renewal invitation by purchasing a new policy through " compare the market". I contacted your call centre to discuss this and was disappointed with the negative response . The attitude was along the lines of " if I found it worth the trouble to save what amounted to aprox'10% that was up to up to me" guess what I did ? I have no qualms about insuring with RIAS but I trust your customer service, should I need it is better than my recent experience .

I have tried creating an account on a number of occasions to retrieve my policy documents but continually get a message stating that either the details are incorrect or an account already exists - not exactly clear as to what I am doing wrong. As you have already taken payment I presume that I do have a valid policy but remain in the dark until I can access an online account. I could ring you again and incur further phone charges but quite frankly I don't think I should need to.

Was disappointed i had to go to Rias on line service for a quote that turned out to be less than half the price of my existing renewal notice. On complaining, it was matched. So much for being a regular customer.

I rang RIAS twice to ask how adjustments to my cover would affect the quoted premium, such as altering my voluntary excess and removing the separate optional excess insurance. On both occasions the person I spoke to was unhelpful and condescending. In the end the only way I could tailor my quote was by going online and seeking an entirely fresh quote. In the end I did stay with RIAS although they were not quite the cheapest option, mainly because starting afresh with them also offered me the bonus of an online account with them that hopefully will give me a better renewal experience next year. Also their web site is clear and straightforward. In short, the web experience was good, the humans less so.
