“there is nothing to say you can only judge a policy if you have to make a claim and how the insurers deal with it, if its good then you are happy if the results don't work in your favour then not so happy.”

“RIAS claimed to allow up to 9 years NCD. I had not had a claim for 10 years and showed documentary evidence for that last claim. However RIAS would only accept the NCD allowance of the previous insurer, which showed less than 10 years because their maximum was less. Hence RIAS discounted my evidence and demanded an extra 15% on top of the original quote which I paid grudgingly. Their renewal quote, including an extra year's NCD was 15% higher again.”

“Very helpful people; very prompt responses and early with any renewal paperwork. Good competitive prices. My only concern is that having set up a direct debit I get very little paperwork to see what I am covered for - useful when deciding whether to renew or not.”
